Introduction

The WiFi camera from DIGITUS® can be rotated by 355° and panned by 90° and is equipped with auto-tracking, this enables automatic tracking of movements within the field of view. Thanks to the wide-angle lens of 100° with razor- sharp Full HD resolution, you won’t miss a single detail. The automatic switching from day to night vision offers a clear view even in absolute darkness. Thanks to WLAN operation, you are 100% flexible as far as the installation location is concerned; all you have to do is position the camera within the range of your wireless network and supply it with power. Via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, the camera image can be displayed on corresponding Amazon and Google displays by voice command. The camera is also able to detect and track movements in the image area and send a corresponding push notification to your smartphone. The available MicroSD card slot can be equipped with memory cards of up to 128 GB, so that recordings can be stored for a longer period of time and retrieved at any time. The two-way audio transmission allows you to communicate with people in front of the camera. The camera’s live image and all settings can be conveniently accessed and adjusted via app – regardless of your current location (assuming cellular reception). The camera is designed for a variety of uses, such as indoor surveillance of all kinds, baby or pet monitoring. Thanks to the included bracket, the camera can be individually aligned and mounted – alternatively via the integrated 1/4″ screw thread. This product is designed for residential use.

Safety instructions for devices with power supply unit in outdoor operation

• Do not open the device under any circumstances. It does not contain any parts that require maintenance. In the event of a fault, have the device checked and repaired by a specialist.
• For safety and approval reasons, the device must not be converted or modified.
• In case of problems, please contact our customer service.
• Only use the device with the enclosed original power supply unit.
• The device may only be connected to easily accessible sockets. In case of danger, pull out the mains plug.
• Always lay cables to the device in such a way that they do not pose a danger to persons or animals.
• Use the device only within the specified temperature range of: 0 ~ 40°C.
• When not in use, store the product in a clean and dry place with temperatures between 0°C and 40°C.
• Do not allow the device to come into contact with liquids
• This device is not intended for outdoor use. Ensure that the device is used only in dry, dust-free, apartment-like environments.
• During thunderstorms, there is a risk of overvoltage due to the risk of lightning strikes. Disconnect all connections of the device during thunderstorms.
• The device is not a toy! Keep the equipment out of the reach of children. Packaging material lying around such as plastic bags, foils or cushioning elements such as Styrofoam can be dangerous for children.
• Dust, moisture and vapors as well as sharp cleaning agents or solvents may damage the product.
• Disconnect the product from the power source before cleaning. Use a lint-free cloth for cleaning.

Note Video Surveillance

Observe all applicable laws regarding camera surveillance. The cameras are intended for private use at home. Inform your family members, relatives and household helpers in your household about the video surveillance. Ensure that public areas and your neighbors’ property cannot be seen.

Notes when using the APP

Read and accept the platform’s privacy policy within the app. Choose a password for your account with a high level of security to protect it from unauthorized access. The password should contain at least 8 characters; we recommend the use of upper and lower case as well as alphanumeric characters / special characters.

Setting up the Smart Life User Account

In order to use your DIGITUS® Smart Full HD PT Indoor Camera with Auto Tracking, WiFi + Voice Control, you need to register an user account. The setup and control can be done from your Smartphone/tablet, with Android system 4.4.2 and above, or iOS system 8 and above.

Create a user account with your Smartphone/tablet

If you have an Apple® iOS device, then you will find the “Smart Life” App on the Apple App Store®. For Smartphones and tablets running on Google Android OS you can find the “Smart Life”-App in the Google™ Play Store. In the search field of the respective App Stores® enter “Smart Life”.

In the Search results the “Smart Life”-App will be marked with this symbol .

Then please download and install the App on your mobile device.

You can also scan below QR code to download and install the app.

Start the App and you will enter the login page. For first time user, please create your account by “Register”.

Create new account with Smart Life

Click on “Register”.

1. Please enter your email or phone number, which would be your login account.

2. Accept the Service Agreement and Privacy Policy

3. Press “Continue”, you will receive a verification code by email or SMS. You will receive the email or SMS immediately. If you do not receive the email, please check your Spam Folder. If you do not receive the SMS, please check your registered phone number.

4. Enter verification code

5. Create a password that you can remember. (Alphabet and numerical characters are supported).

6. Please enter a name, which you can choose freely (e.g. home). Optionally, you can now also determine the location and in which room your socket is used.

7. Connect the camera to your Wi-Fi.

With Smartphone/tablet

1. Please power on the camera, press the RESET button for 5 seconds. When red and blue lights flash slowly, the device is ready to connect.

2. Please tab the “+” icon or tab “Add Device” in the app and follow the instructions in the app to connect your DIGITUS® Smart Full HD PT Indoor Camera with Auto Tracking, WiFi + Voice Control to your WiFi.

3. Please select “Security & Sensor” and afterwards “Smart Camera” to start.

4. Confirm that the LED is fast blinking.

5. Your WiFi´s SSID will be shown to connect with. Please make sure, your mobile device is connected to your 2.4GHz WiFi network. 5GHz WiFi networks will not be supported. Please key in the password for your  router/AP at home.
   

6. A QR-code will be automatically generated in the app, as shown in the picture. Let the QR-code aim at the cameras lens, keep their distance at around 15cm – 30cm. When hear a “beep” sound and see the red light turn blue, click “I heard the beep”.

7. The DIGITUS® Smart Full HD PT Indoor Camera with Auto Tracking, WiFi + Voice Control is now connecting to your WiFi network.

8. After the camera is successfully connected, it can be renamed. For the use with a voice controlled system like Amazon Alexa or Google Home, we recommend to give the camera an identifiable name, e.g. main entrance.

Once the camera is renamed, press “Save” and “Done” to submit the changes.

9. You will be linked to the main menu.

Now you can use your DIGITUS® Smart Full HD PT Indoor Camera with Auto Tracking, WiFi + Voice Control.

General notes on radio operation

During installation and operation, make sure that persons are at least 20 cm away from the device. The signal is transmitted via a non-exclusive transmission path. Disturbances and interferences cannot be excluded. General switching operations in the power supply system, electric motors or defective terminal equipment can cause interference. In case of problems of this kind, ask your dealer or an experienced radio and TV technician for advice.

Information!
The range in buildings can deviate strongly from the free field range. Building characteristics, weather conditions and humidity can have a strong influence on the range of the transmission path in addition to the transmission power. Reduced ranges due to these influences do not represent a product defect.
