Installation and Upgrade Considerations

To upgrade from OpenManage Enterprise 3.9 to OpenManage Enterprise 3.10:

  1. Active Directory (AD) users who have logged into OpenManage Enterprise with multiple AD user formats (for example: johndoe@mydomain.com,mydomain\johndoe, johndoe@mydomain) will have all of their users merged into one user (that can log in using any one of the username formats) in OpenManage Enterprise. If your OpenManage Enterprise users are AD users with a forward slash in their usernames, each user will have to log into OpenManage Enterprise using one of the other supported formats and Transfer Ownership to migrate all usernames to the new format. After migration to the new format, the usernames with the forward slashes can be deleted.
CAUTION: If you do not migrate AD usernames with forward slashes before upgrading to OpenManage Enterprise 3.9.2, you will have to re-create your AD users.

  2. Upgrade to OpenManage Enterprise 3.9.2.

  3. Upgrade to OpenManage Enterprise 3.10.
