Introduction

The weatherproof WiFi outdoor camera from DIGITUS® can be rotated 355° and panned 90° and is equipped with auto-tracking, this enables automatic tracking of movements within the field of view. Thanks to the wide-angle lens of 85° with razor-sharp Full HD resolution, you won’t miss a single detail. The integrated dual LEDs ensure the best possible night vision up to 50 m – with switched-on white light LEDs also in color. They ensure optimal illumination and a clear view even in absolute darkness. Thanks to WLAN operation, you are 100% flexible as far as the installation location is concerned. All you have to do is position the camera within the range of your wireless network and supply it with power; alternatively, a network connection can also be established via cable using the RJ45 port. Via Amazon  Alexa and Google Assistant, the camera image can be displayed on corresponding Amazon and Google displays via voice command. The camera is also able to detect and track movements in the image area and send a corresponding push notification to your smartphone. The available MicroSD card slot can be equipped with memory cards of up to 128 GB so that recordings can be stored for a longer period of time and retrieved at any time. The two-way audio transmission allows you to communicate with people in front of the camera.

The camera’s live image and all settings can be conveniently accessed and adjusted via app – regardless of your current location (assuming cellular reception). The camera is designed for a variety of uses, for example, for monitoring the house, garden, garage or carport. Thanks to the included bracket, the camera can be individually aligned and mounted. Safety instructions for devices with a power supply unit in closed rooms

Note on Video Surveillance

Observe all applicable laws regarding camera surveillance. The cameras are intended for private use at home. Inform your family members, relatives, and household helpers in your household about the video surveillance. Ensure that public areas and your neighbors’ property cannot be seen.

Notes when using the APP

Read and accept the privacy policy of the platform within the app. Choose a password with a high level of security for your account to protect it from unauthorized access.
The password should contain at least 8 characters; we recommend using upper and lower case and alphanumeric characters / special characters.

Hardware installation:

Wall mounting
Select a location for the camera and then use the bracket to mark the position of the four drill holes. Select a suitable drill bit with the same diameter as the expansion anchor and drill the four holes in the wall. Insert the expansion anchors into the holes and fasten the camera and bracket with the four screws provided..

Positioning/Fixing:.

Insert the plug of the power supply into the power input on the connection cable of the camera. Connect the camera to the power outlet and turn it on.

NOTE: If you are using a wired connection, insert an Ethernet cable into the RJ45 connector on the connection cable and connect it to a router or network switch.

Setting up the Smart Life User Account

In order to use your DIGITUS® Smart Full HD Outdoor Camera with LED Floodlight, WiFi & Voice Control, you need to register a user account. The setup and
control can be done from your Smartphone/tablet, with Android system 4.4.2 and above, or iOS system 8 and above.

Create a user account with your Smartphone/tablet
If you have an Apple® iOS device, then you will find the “Smart Life” App on the Apple App Store®. For Smartphones and tablets running on Google Android OS, you can find the “Smart Life”-App in the Google™ Play Store. In the search field of the respective App Stores® enter “Smart Life”.

In the search results the “Smart Life”-App will be marked with this symbol.
Then please download and install the App on your mobile device.

Start the App and you will enter the login page. For a first-time user, please create your account by “Register”.

Create a new account with Smart Life

Click on “Register”.

1. Please enter your email or phone number, which would be your login account.

2. Accept the Service Agreement and Privacy Policy

3. Press “Continue”, and you will receive a verification code by email or SMS. You will receive the email or SMS immediately. If you do not receive the email, please check your Spam Folder. If you do not receive the SMS, please check your registered phone number

4. Enter verification code

5.  Create a password that you can remember. (Alphabet and numerical characters are supported).

6. Please enter a name, which you can choose freely (e.g. home). Optionally, you can now also determine the location and in which room your socket is used.

7. Connect the camera to your Wi-Fi

With Smartphone/tablet

1. Please power on the camera, and press the RESET button for 5 seconds. When red and blue lights flash slowly, the device is ready to connect.

2. Please tab the “+” icon or tab “Add Device” in the app and follow the instructions in the app to connect your DIGITUS® Smart Full HD Outdoor Camera with LED Floodlight, WiFi & Voice Control to your WiFi.

3. Please select “Security & Sensor” and afterward “Smart Camera” to start.

4. Confirm that the LED is fast blinking.

5. Your WiFi´s SSID will be shown to connect with. Please make sure, your mobile device is connected to your 2.4GHz WiFi network. 5GHz WiFi networks will not be supported. Please key in the password for your router/AP at home.

6. A QR code will be automatically generated in the app, as shown in the picture. Let the QR-code aim at the camera’s lens, and keep its distance at around 15cm – 30cm. When hearing a “beep” sound and seeing the red light turn blue, click “I heard the beep”.

7. The DIGITUS® Smart Full HD Outdoor Camera with LED Floodlight, WiFi & Voice Control is now connecting to your WiFi network.

8. After the camera is successfully connected, it can be renamed. For the use with a voice-controlled system like Amazon Alexa or Google Home, we recommend giving the camera an identifiable name, e.g. main entrance.
   Once the camera is renamed, press “Save” and “Done” to submit the changes.

9. You will be linked to the main menu.

Now you can use your DIGITUS® Smart Full HD Outdoor Camera with LED Floodlight, WiFi & Voice Control.

General notes on radio operation

During installation and operation, make sure to keep at least 20 cm distance from persons. The signal transmission takes place on a non-exclusive transmission path. Disturbances and interferences cannot be excluded. General switching operations in the power supply system, electric motors, or defective terminal equipment can cause interference. In case of problems of this kind, ask your dealer or an experienced radio and TV technician for advice.

Information!
The range in buildings can deviate strongly from the free field range. Building characteristics, weather conditions, and humidity can have a strong influence on the range of the transmission path in addition to the transmission power. Reduced ranges due to these influences do not represent a product defect.
