SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

  • Be sure to read the manual and use the refrigerator correctly according to the manual. Please be sure to keep the instruction manual.

  • Do not squeeze, fold, knot or damage the cables. If the power supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similar qualifi ed person in order to avoid hazard.

  • When pulling out the power plug, do not pull on the cable to avoid damaging it.

  • Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

  • Do not allow anyone to climb, sit, stand or lean on the door of the refrigerator to prevent personal injury and damage to the refrigerator. Do not hold or carry the refrigerator by the door. Always lift from the bottom.

  • Unplug the refrigerator before completing any cleaning.

  • Do not place water directly on the cabinet during cleaning to avoid damage to the refrigerator.

  • When disposing of an old refrigerator, it should be treated as a recyclable item.

  • DANGER: Do not store or use fl ammable goods near the refrigerator such as gas, paint, gasoline, etc. Do not place fl ammable and explosive items such as alcohol or gasoline in the refrigerator to prevent explosion or fi re.

  • DANGER: Do not place the refrigerator in a damp area or near water.

  • WARNING: This refrigerator is not suitable
    for the storage of food. It cannot be used for the storage of blood products, medicines, biological products, etc. Do not store anything in this refrigerator that has strict temperature requirements such as vaccines, bacteria or chemical reagents.

  • WARNING: Do not use electrical appliances inside the storage compartments of the appliance unless they are of the type recommended by the manufacturer.

  • WARNING: Do not place heavy items such as a microwave or electric cooktop on top of the refrigerator. Do not place containers of liquid on top of the refrigerator.

  • WARNING: Keep ventilation openings clear of obstruction.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
Insert the DC power cable into the corresponding DC socket of the refrigerator and insert the other end of the DC power cable into the power source.
Note: Check the label of each product for the power supply and ensure that the input voltage is within range.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

LOCATION

  • Remove interior and exterior packaging prior to installation. Wipe the outside of the appliance with a soft, dry cloth and the inside with a lukewarm wet cloth.
  • Place the appliance on a fl at surface that is strong enough to support it when it is fully loaded.
  • Do not place the appliance in direct sunlight or near sources of heat, such as a stove or heater, as this can increase electrical consumption. Extreme cold ambient temperatures may also cause the appliance to perform improperly.
  • Do not use the appliance near water, for example in a wet basement or near a sink.
  • This appliance is intended for indoor use only. It is not designed for outside installation, including anywhere that is not temperature controlled (garages, porches, vehicles, etc.).
  • This appliance is 21.9 cm (8.6 inches) wide by 35 cm (13.8 inches) high by 28.8 cm (11.3 inches) deep.
  • Allow 10 cm (3.9 inches) of space between the back and sides of the refrigerator and 30 cm (11.8 inches) between the top of the appliance and all adjacent walls or objects.
  • This appliance is intended for free-standing installation only and is not intended to be built into a cabinet or counter. Building in this appliance can cause it to malfunction.

IMPORTANT: Ensure that the door is fully closed when the appliance is in operation. Failure to fully close the door can lead to excessive condensation and potential water damage to fl ooring under the appliance. Danby will not be responsible for damages from misuse.

FIRST TIME USE

  1. Plug in the power cord and turn on the power supply.
  2. Press and hold the power button for 3 – 5 seconds to power on.
  3. The digital display will show the current temperature inside the cabinet.

THERMOELECTRIC COOLING
This refrigerator is powered by semiconductor thermoelectric refrigeration technology based on the Peltier effect. Semiconductor refrigeration does not contain hydrocarbons or refrigeration coolant.
The thermoelectric unit inside this refrigerator will use both cooling and heating to keep the internal cabinet as close to the set temperature as possible. If the temperature inside the cabinet is higher than the set temperature, the appliance will engage cooling mode. If the temperature inside the cabinet is lower than the set temperature, the appliance will engage heat mode.
The recommended ambient temperature for most effi cient performance is 10 – 27°C (50 – 81°F).

TEMPERATURE CONTROL

  1. Press and hold the set button for 3 seconds to set the temperature.
  2.  Use the up and down arrows to set the desired temperature. The temperature can be set between 2 – 8°C (36 – 46°F).

Note: When inactive the display panel will show the temperature inside the cabinet. The display can show a range of temperatures between -9 – 92°C (16 – 193°F) and may occasionally show temperatures outside the setting range if the ambient temperature is extremely hot or cold.

TEMPERATURE SCALE

  1. Press the set button once to change the temperature scale.
  2. Press the up and down buttons to switch between F and C.

DOOR LIGHT

  1. Press the light button at the bottom of the mirror to turn on the light strip around the door.
  2. Press the light button again to adjust the brightness of the light. The light can be set to low, medium or high brightness.
  3.  Press the light button a fourth time to turn it off.
  4.  If there is no input within 15 minutes, the light will turn off automatically to save energy.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

CLEANING
Ensure the appliance is unplugged before cleaning.

  • To clean the inside of the appliance, use a soft cloth and a solution of a tablespoon of baking soda to one quart of water or a mild detergent solution.
  • Wash removable shelves in a mild detergent solution, then dry and wipe with a soft cloth.
  • Clean the outside with a soft, damp cloth and some mild detergent.
  • It is important to keep the area clean where the door seals against the cabinet. Clean this area with a soapy cloth. Rinse with a damp cloth and let dry.

Note: Do not use cleaners containing ammonia or alcohol on the appliance. Ammonia or alcohol can damage the appearance of the appliance. Never use any commercial or abrasive cleaners or sharp objects on any part of the appliance.

POWER FAILURE
Most power failures are corrected within a few hours and should not affect the temperature of your appliance if you minimize the number of times the door is opened. If the power is going to be off for a longer period of time, take the proper steps to protect your contents.
Note: Wait 3 to 5 minutes before attempting to restart the refrigerator if operation has been interrupted.

DEFROST
When the ambient temperature or humidity is very high, frost may appear on the inside of the cabinet. To defrost the cabinet, remove all contents, unplug the appliance and leave the door standing open. Remember to place a towel or pan under the appliance to catch the defrosted water.

VACATION

  • Short vacations: Leave the appliance operating during vacations of less than three weeks.
  • Long vacations: If the appliance will not be used for several months, remove all items and turn off the appliance. Clean and dry the interior thoroughly. To prevent odor and mold growth, leave the door open slightly, blocking it open if necessary.

MOVING

  • Remove all contents.
  • Securely tape down all shelves.
  • Tape the door shut.
  • Protect the outside of the appliance with a blanket.

DISPOSAL
This appliance may not be treated as regular waste, it should be taken to the appropriate waste collection point for the recycling of electrical components.
For information on local waste collection points, contact your local waste removal agency or government office.
