1. General Notes

These operating and safety instructions are intended for the user. Please read the instructions carefully and adhere to the regulations and notes before operating the device.

2. Purpose / Correct Usage

The calf milk warmer is designed for the warming of milk and feed that has been prepared with water. The calf milk warmer may not be used for other purposes, specifically the prevention of the freezing of water in feed troughs and the warming of aggressive liquids.

3. Safety Notes

  • Use: The warranty and liability of the manufacturer do not apply in the event of incorrect use of or interference with the device. The voltage information on the type plate must conform to the voltage of the power supply.

  • Please check all components before each use. Damaged parts may only be repaired by specialists or by the manufacturer.
If repairs are carried out incorrectly or the user fails to carry out repairs then this can cause operator accidents. Do not operate the device if it or one of its components is defective. Always use original spare parts for any repairs.

  • Safety : Always pull the mains plug out first before cleaning, adjusting or maintaining the device.

  • Protect the connection lines: Do not use the connection line to pull the power plug or to carry the device. Ensure that the connection lines do not come into contact with heat, oil or sharp edges. Damaged connection lines can cause fires, short circuits and electrical shocks. If the connection line on this device is damaged then it must be replaced with a specific connection line, available from the manufacturer or their customer service representative.

  • Regular maintenance: Always keep the device in a dry, safe place, out of the reach of children. Please adhere to any maintenance requirements. Check your device at regular intervals. Only use original accessories and spare parts.

  • National and international regulations: Please adhere to national and international safety, health and work safety regulations.

  • Disconnect unit from the mains: The unit must be disconnected from the mains after use. The unit is not switched off
and thus disconnected from the mains if the power cable remains attached to the socket.

  • Do not operate the device near explosive substance or atmospheres at risk of explosion.

  • Regularly check the device for leaks (seals, cable conduits and screw attachments). Neglecting this check can result in significant danger.

  • The device must not be operated via an external timer or a separate remote action system.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Submerge the heating element on the calf milk warmer in the liquid that you wish to warm. Please note the maximum submersion depth, shown by the groove on the upper end of the submersion pipe. Do not exceed this level.
The heating ring must be fully submerged in the liquid and the handle must never come into contact with the liquid. The container must be made of heat- resistant material. Never use plastic containers!

Do not exceed maximum submersion depth! (level marked „max.“, see diagram on page 3)
Do not submerge below minimum submersion depth! (level marked „min.“, see diagram on page 3)

4.2. Plug the mains plug into a socket that was installed by a recognised specialist and that is fitted with a fault circuit interrupter (FI) with an operating current of 30 mA. From now on the liquid may not be touched!
4.3. Set the desired temperature with the thermostat. ( 0 ) corresponds to the minimum temperature ( ) corresponds to a temperature of approximately 40°C and (  ) to a temperature of about 80°C. While heating up the red control lamp lights up.

4.4. Attention: only operate the device under supervision.
4.5. During longer warming periods please ensure that the liquid covers the heating ring at all times and the liquid level does not sink. Never cover the device or the container.
4.6. When the red control lamp goes out this means the desired temperature has been reached. Turn the thermostat to ‘minimum temperature’ and pull the plug out of the socket. Leave the calf milk warmer in the liquid for a further minute before removing it.
4.7. The heating element will still be hot after the plug is removed and must not be touched. Lay the calf milk warmer on a non-flammable surface. Storage on a flammable surface (straw) is prohibited!
4.8. The calf‘s milk heater must be cleaned after every use. The heater can be cleaned using a soft sponge cloth (do not use scrubbing brushes, wire brushes, wire wool or other abrasive cleaning tools) and lukewarm, soapy water. The calf‘s milk heater should be placed in cold or warm water immediately after use. This makes the calf‘s milk heater easier to clean and protects the PTFE coating. To clean the handle and the stand pipe, use a soft, damp cloth that must be completely free of solvents (acetone, petrol, alcohol or similar).

5. Maintenance and Repair

The device is maintenance free. The device must be taken out of operation immediately in the event of a defect. If repair is necessary please contact a specialist electrician or send the device to the manufacturer for repair. A defective connection line may also only be repaired by the manufacturer or by a specialist electrician in order to avoid hazard.
