Before Starting

6.1 Transport
Before transporting the unit, ensure that it has been unplugged from the power socket.
Make sure that it is packed correctly in order to avoid accidental damage.
Be sure to check for any transport damage when unpacking the goods. Note down any damage if found.

6.2 Installation
Open the box, remove the packing materials, and carefully lift out the device and accessories. Check the included accessories.
The device has to stand horizontally on a steady and even surface.
Install the device in a place where it will not block the working area and the functionality (take the dimensions into account). Make sure that there is about 10 cm of free space on each side to guarantee air circulation (heat dissipation).
Do not install the unit outdoors or in places without proper ventilation.
Before start-up, be sure the device reaches room temperature.

6.3 Storage
The unit location is very important when it comes to workplace safety, even if it is only to be set up there for a short period. The room should be dry, well ventilated, and vibration-free. An even temperature and wooden supports also help. The unit should not be stored or set up outdoors. If the unit is to be stored for an extended period, protect it from moisture and dust.

Installation/ Start-up

Because your unit has been carefully checked for faultless operation, there may be residual water inside the unit.
Before starting the unit, connect up the following:

  • The connections for the supply hose and the discharge hose are located at the rear of the unit.
  • Connect the DTC Economy to a water tap using the supplied inlet hose. The tap must have a non-return valve and a breather (washing-machine tap), 3/4“, min. Ø 15 mm.
  • The water pressure has to be at least 2 bar with an output of 10 liters/minute.
  • The supplied discharge hose also has to be fixed at the rear side of the unit.
  • If possible, run the discharge hose into a heat-resistant bucket or washbasin as the draining water can be very hot.

The unit has to be installed in accordance with the standards of the installation regulations, viz. the water supply line must be connected to a suitable tap ¾” and the
water discharge must be firmly fixed and have a free outlet!
Finally, insert the power plug into the socket, making sure that the mains and the unit operate on the same voltage. Make sure that the earthing system of the electrical equipment is installed in accordance with the applicable electrotechnical regulations.

Never use an extension cable for the connection.
Never leave the unit running unattended.
Never use the unit without opening the tap and connecting the water drainage in advance.

Operation

8.1 General Operating Instructions
All instructions for using the unit, whether in verbal or written form, are based on our own experience and experimentation and can only be regarded as guidelines.

8.1.1 Main Switch

  • The main switch (black rocker switch) is located at the right rear side of the unit.
  • The main switch has to be set to “0” when the unit is not in operation.
  • To switch on the voltage, set the rocker switch to “I”.

8.1.2 Filling Flap (Washing Drum)
The filling flap is located at the upper front of the unit.
The filling flap may only be opened with the fixed handle which is for this purpose.
Hold the handle and turn the handle to the left with little effort.
Never open the filling flap while the unit is running.
When the filling flap is open, the unit can not be started.

8.1.3 Flap (Residues Drawer)
The flap of the residues drawer is located at the lower front of the unit.
This flap also may only be opened with the fixed handle which is for this purpose.
Hold the handle and turn the handle to the left with little effort.
Never open the residues drawer while the unit is running.

8.1.4 Residues Drawer
The residues drawer is located behind the drawer flap.
The residues drawer can be completely removed from the DTC Economy by opening the drawer flap and pulling the drawer forward using the handle.
The residues drawer must always be cleaned and rinsed after two wash cycles.
Before using the program run, always check whether the residues drawer is in the unit.

8.2 Preparation of the Fully Automatic Cleaning
8.2.1 Water Tap and Water Drain
Open the tap and make sure that there is no visible leak and that the drain hose is properly attached.

8.2.2 Main Switch
Switch on the unit: Main switch at the rear side of the unit „I“.

8.2.3 Filling the Washing Drum with Impression Trays made of Plastic or Metal
Sort the impression trays to be cleaned into metal and plastic.
The impression trays do not need to be pretreated.
Open the filling flap on the sloping top and leave it open in the desired position.
Fill the drum with a maximum of 25 impression trays.
A load with more than 25 impression trays results in a considerably poorer cleaning result.
We therefore strongly advise against overloading.
After filling the drum, close the filling flap.

8.2.4 Filling the Washing Drum with Retention Plates made of Plastic
For Retention Plates made of Plastic also follow points 8.2.1 and 8.2.2.
Then the washing drum can be filled with a maximum of 50 retention plates.

8.3 Check the Residues Drawer
Before starting the cleaning program, always check that the residues drawer is in the unit and that it has been emptied.

Then the machine can be restarted.
Due to the very high water pressure, never open either the filling flap or the residues drawer while the unit is running.

8.3.4 Remove the clean Impression Trays / Retention Plates
When the cleaning process is over, the clean impression trays/retention plates can be removed from the washing drum. Just open the filling flap and take out the impression trays/retention plates.
