Intended use

The heater fan is intended to be used on top of a free-standing heater with a normal surface temperature of 65–300°C, to save fuel and ensure that heat is distributed effectively throughout the room. The heater fan is ideal for rooms with unusual layouts or environments that are particularly cold or damp. The heater fan does not work on mains electricity or batteries; it uses the heat from the heater to activate the fan. The unique design of the fan ensures it is stable and functions  quietly. Place the heater fan on top of the heater so that cool air is drawn across the cool frame. Do not place the heater fan in front of the heater or directly in front of the chimney; the cool frame will become too hot. If the surface temperature exceeds 300°C, place the fan on a part of the heater that is not quite as hot to prevent damaging the device. Use a thermometer that is suitable for very high temperatures. The foot is designed so that it tilts slightly when the temperature gets too high; this ensure there is less contact with the surface. It also prevents the fan being damaged by high temperatures. This works up to a point but it is still important to ensure the temperature limit is not exceeded.

Cleaning and maintenance

  • Let the fan cool down before cleaning it or carrying out maintenance.
  • Clean the fan with a damp cloth. Do not use any abrasive or corrosive cleaning products that could damage the material. Do not submerge the fan in liquids!
  • Let the fan dry out thoroughly before using it again.
  • Store the fan at the end of the season in a safe, dry place that is not subject to extremes of temperature, preferably in its original packaging.
