Hardware Overview
1 Buttons and LEDs
- Lights orange: The Control Pad is powered on and the button is off.
- Lights white: The Control Pad is powered on and the button is on.
- All LEDs blink orange and white once: The Control Pad is being set to default. For details, see Reset Switch below.
- All LEDs repeatedly blink orange and white: A fi rmware upgrade is in progress.
2 System LED Indicator
- LAN lights green: The Control Pad is connected to network.
- Link lights green: The Control Pad is actively transmitting and receiving data.
- Both LEDs are off: The Control Pad is not connected to network.
3 Reset Switch
- To set the Control Pad’s network settings to default (IP address:
4 RS-232 Serial Ports
- Connect up to 2 RS-232 serial devices.
5 Relay Channels
- Connect up to 2 relay devices.
- Relay contacts are normally open, isolated with a contact rating of 24VDC, 1A max.
6 Digital Input Port
- Connects to 1 digital input device.
7 Ethernet Port
- Connects to an Ethernet cable to provide power and access to the network.
- LINK LED (left): Blinks green to indicate that the Control Pad is actively transmitting and receiving data.
- ACT LED (right): Lights green to indicate a data transfer rate of 100 Mbps.
8 Control Pad ID Switch
- Use the switch to assign an ID to the Control Pad.
9 DC Power Port
- Connects to a 5V DC power adapter (optional).
Installation
Installation
Step 1 Prepare the installation site
Install the Control Pad into a chosen surface with or without a 2-gang wall
box. Refer to the cutout diagram above to prepare the installation site with
the specifi ed dimensions to accommodate the device.
Step 2 Connect the Control Pad to devices and LAN
Connect the Control Pad to serial, relay, and/or digital input devices using
the supplied terminal blocks.
Note: To provide additional ports to the Control Pad, purchase ATEN
Expansion Boxes.
To use PoE, connect the Control Pad to a PoE switch via an Ethernet cable.
If you do not have a power sourcing equipment for PoE, contact the sales
representative to purchase a power adapter and then follow the steps below to
prepare the power cord.
- Cut the connector end of the power adapter.
- Strip 5mm (0.5 cm) off the insulation cover of the Power Adapter. Refer to the manual for details on how to install a terminal block to the power adapter.
Use the ID Switch to assign an ID to the Control Pad.
Power on all the devices. The button LEDs light orange.
Step 3 Install the Control Pad to the wall
Assemble the button caps and faceplate to the Control Pad, and then secure the
Control Pad to the wall using self-prepared screws.
Configuring the Control Pad
- Download and install ATEN Confi gurator from the web page.
- Use ATEN Confi gurator to create a project profi le which specifi es button layout, function, and the device connections.
- Upload the project profi le to the Control Pad.
Note: If your network switch does not support DHCP, the Control Pad adopts the default IP address (192.168.0.60).To change the IP address, log in the web interface using the default IP address and the default password (password).
