SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

  • Please read these instructions carefully before using the product and keep them in a safe place for future reference.

  • When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed including the following.

  • Never use accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer. It may result in fire, electric shock, and/or personal injury.

  • This dehydrator is for home and indoor use ONLY and not for commercial use. Do not use it outdoors.

  • The appliance is not to be used by children under the age of 8 or persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge unless they have been given supervision or instruction and understand the dangers involved. You should make sure that children do not play with the device.

  • The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.

  • Avoid sudden temperature changes, such as adding refrigerated foods into a heated pot.

  • Always place the container on the supplied base when cooking your food. NEVER put the container directly on the countertop.

  • When using the dehydrator, make sure that it is on an even, flat, and stable surface and that it can withstand the weight of the unit during use.

  • Do not operate dehydrators on flammable surfaces such as carpeting.

  • Use in a well-ventilated location. Do not block air vents on the door or at the rear of the dehydrator. Keep the dehydrator at least (30 cm) away from any wall to allow for proper air circulation.

  • If the appliance is provided with a flexible cordless than 4 ¹/₂ feet (1.4 m) in length, please note:
    – A short power-supply cord (or detachable power-supply cord) should be used to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
    – Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use.

  • If a longer detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is used:
    – The marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance; and
    – The cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.

  • If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a grounding-type 3-wire cord.

  • Cleaning and maintenance may only be carried out by children older than 8 years of age and under supervision. Keep the device and its cable out of the reach of children under 8 years of age, as they cannot assess the dangers of improper handling of electrical devices.

  • Do not leave the unit unattended during use. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.

  • This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:
    – staff kitchen areas in shops, offices, and other working environments;
    – farmhouses;
    – by clients in hotels, motels, and other residential type environments;
    – bed and breakfast type environments.

  • Before connecting the dehydrator to the main supply, please check that the voltage on the rating label corresponds to the main voltage in your home.

  • Always unplug the appliances from the outlet whenever the appliance is not in use, before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning. Allow cooling before putting on or taking off parts.

  • Take care not to hang the dehydrator and the power cord over sharp edges and keep it away from hot objects and open flames, as the plastic material may melt and cause a fire.

  • Check the dehydrator and the power cord regularly for damage.

  • Do not use the dehydrator with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.

  • Repairs to the dehydrator should only be carried out by an electrician.

  • No part of the product is dishwasher safe unless expressly stated otherwise.

  • Always insert the plug into the unit first and check that the control unit is switched off before plugging the power cord into the power outlet to disconnect the unit, then
    switch it off and unplug it from the wall outlet.

  • Do not pull on the cable but on the plug.

  • The power cord can not be squeezed by something heavy or sharp, otherwise, it will cause a fire or electric shock.

  • Do not use your appliance with an extension cord unless it has been checked and tested by a qualified technician or service technician.

  • Never use an unauthorized accessory.

  • Avoid contacting moving parts. Keep hands, hair, clothing, spatulas, and other utensils away during operation to reduce the risk of injury to persons and/or damage to the machine.

  • Please don’t turn the draught of the engine towards others or tinder.

  • Do not place or use the unit or any parts on or near a hot gas or electric burner, in a heated oven, or on the stovetop. Do not let the power cord hang over the edge of the table or counter or touch any hot surfaces.

  • Please don’t keep it beside anything heating. Please keep the plug away from pressing; otherwise, it will cause a fire or electric shock

CAUTION: Risk of electric shock!

To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not immerse or expose the product, flexible cord or plug to water or any liquid and keep it away from rain and moisture.

  • Do not use the product near baths, basins, or other vessels containing water or other liquids, or when standing in or on damp or wet surfaces. Don’t keep the device in a watery environment;
  • Keep the device away from high temperatures, radiation, and moisture.
  • Don’t operate the device with wet hands.
  • Please turn off the power supply in a watery environment.
  • In the event that the appliance is dropped into the water, turn off the power at the power outlet and remove the plug immediately. Do not reach into the water to retrieve it.
  • It is important to note that the appliance will have to be inspected by a qualified technician before using it again.

CAUTION: Risk of overheating!
Do not run the appliance for more than 20 hours in one single use. After 20 hours, press the “START/STOP”, then unplug and let it cool down for at least 2 hours before operating again.

  • Do not operate near gas spray cans.
  •  Incorrect operation and improper handling can lead to malfunction of the appliance and injuries to the user.
  • The temperature of the accessible surface may be HIGH when the appliance is operating, only touch the handles and switches to prevent burning.
  • Do not use appliances for other than intended use.
  • If you pass this appliance on to a third party, these operating instructions must also be handed over.
  • Failure to follow all instructions listed may result in electric shock, fire, or serious injury. The warnings, precautions, and instructions described in this manual may not cover all possible situations that may occur during the use of the product.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Features of the Dehydrator

  • This unit features an automatic fan, which circulates warm air producing a nice evenly dried device! Dried foods are a great treat to snack on because they retain
    almost all of their nutritional value and flavor. The perfect way to preserve fruit, snacks, vegetables, bread, flowers, and more.

  • The dehydrator has 6 trays, the size of each tray is 33 x 30.5 cm, and each tray can’t load more than 0.5 kg of food.

  • If you want to dry thicker food, you can take out one tray to make the height higher between the two trays.

  • The trays are easy to be cleaned.

  • Fruit Roll sheets can collect the residue during dry food.

  • Close the transparent door can dry the food more efficient

  • From the transparent door, you can see the food situation during drying.

Mesh Tray (Optional accessories)
Use for smaller items such as herbs and berries; and sticky items such as bananas & tomatoes.

Non-stick sheet (Fruit Roll Tray)
This makes delicious fruit rolls produced naturally. When not used as a Fruit Roll Tray, store at the bottom of the unit as a crumb tray.

GETTING STARTED

Before first Use

  • Remove any packing from the product. Place the packing inside the box and either store or dispose of it responsibly.

Cleaning

  •  Before using the first time, wipe all parts of the appliance. Clean the 6 trays, damper door, and slag pans with a lightly moistened cloth. Use detergent as needed. Don’t put the main engine into water or other liquids!

  •  After cleaning, the unit must be run for 30 minutes without placing any food for drying during this period. Any smoke or smells produced during this procedure is
    normal. Please ensure sufficient ventilation. After the running-in period, rinse the racks in water and dry all parts. This act is only necessary for the first time, but don’t put the main engine into water or other liquids

  • Unplug the dehydrator from the power supply and let it cool down before cleaning.
    Use a soft brush to remove food sticking. Dry all parts before storing them in the dehydrator.

  •  Do not clean the appliance with aggressive chemicals or abrasives in order not to damage the surface.

ASSEMBLY

  • Make sure that the dehydrator is on a level surface.
  • Stock the drying trays and connect the plug with a wall socket. The dehydrator is now ready for use.

KEY FUNCTIONS

Function buttons as below:

OPERATION

  1.  Put the clean food in the trays – Do not overload the trays and never overlap the food. Close the damper door.

  2. Plug dehydrator into a wall outlet. There is a beep sound at the beginning, and the four indicator lights up. The LED screen will show “00:00”.

  3. Set the temperature
    Press the “TIME/TEMP” button, The LED screen will show the default time setting “70°C”.
    Press the “+” or “-” buttons to select the desired temperature. To change the temperature rapidly, hold down the “+” or “-” buttons. The temperature can be changed between the range of 35–70°C.

  4. Set the time
    Press the “TIME/TEMP” button and the “10:00” will begin to flash.
    Press the “+” or “-“, buttons until the desired time is displayed. If you hold down the “+” or “-” buttons, the time will change rapidly. The timer can be set between
    “00:30” and “19:30”.

  5. After the temperature and time have been set, press the “TIME/TEMP” button first, then press the “START/STOP” button, and the dehydrator will start to work. The motor and fan will start initially, with the heating element starting 5 seconds later. The set time will begin to count down, and the “:” symbol on the LED screen will flash.
    Note: Set the low temperature for thin/small pieces of food or for a small load of food. Set the high temperature for drying thick/big pieces of food and large loads. The thermostat can also be used to decrease the temperature as the food is near the end of its drying cycle making it easier to control the final moisture level in the food.

  6. In standby mode
    You can press the “TIME/TEMP” button first, then press the “START/STOP” button, to get into default mode to start work (TIME: 10:00, TEMP: 70°C) . You also can change the drying time and temp if needed.

  7. Change the Time during the drying process:
    When the LED screen shows the time, Press the “+” or “-” button directly to change the setting time.

  8. Check and Change the Temp during the drying process:
    Press the “TIME/TEMP” button first, the LED screen shows you the setting temp.
    Then press the “+” or “-” button to change. 5 seconds after finishing changing, the LED screen changes to time mode.

  9. During the drying process, press the “START/STOP” button, and all functions will be paused.
    The LED screen displays nothing.

  10.   END:
    When the set time counts down to “0:00”, the heating element stops working first.
    The fan will continue running for 10 seconds and the buzzer rings 20 times the “beep” sound (1 time/second).
    The LED screen display signal “End” means finish drying.
    Note: If you do not have time to dry all the food in one day, you can dry them the next day. In this case, you should store the food in a container/polyethylene bag and
    put it in the freezer.

  11. Unplug the unit from the powerpoint.

General information on the dehydrator

  • This dehydrator includes 6 drawer trays and an overheat protection. The main engineer contains heating elements, a motor, fan, and thermostat.

  • The air vents on the tray allow air to be circulated.

  • Using a controlled heat temperature, Air from the backflow into each tray drying moisture..

  • Depending on the moisture in the food itself and the humidity in the air, the drying operation time can change. Use the dryer in a dust-free, well-ventilated, warm, and dry room. Well, air ventilation is also important.

  • Fruit and vegetables dried in your food dehydrator will be different in appearance from those sold in health food stores and supermarkets. This is due to your food
    dehydrator uses no preservatives, no artificial coloring, and only natural additives.

  • Records of humidity, and weight of products before and after drying times, will be helpful in improving your drying techniques for the future.

Drying Tips

Drying time for pre-treatment fruit will vary according to the following factors:

  • the thickness of pieces or slices
  • number of trays with food being dried
  • the volume of food being dried
  •  moisture or humidity in your environment
  • your preferences of drying for each type of dried food

Recommendations for drying food

  • Check your food every hour.
  • Label food with contents dried, date and weight before drying. It will also be helpful to note the drying time for future reference.
  • Pretreated food will give the best effect in drying.
  • Correct food storage after drying also will help to keep the food of good quality and save nutrients.

STORAGE

  • Store food only after they have cooled down.
  • Food can be kept longer if stored in a cool, dry, and dark place.
  • Remove all the air you possibly can from the storage container and close tightly.
  • The optimal storage temperature is 15°C or lower.
  • Never store food directly in a metal container.
  • Avoid containers that “breathe” or have a weak seal.
  •  Check the contents of your dried food for moisture during the weeks following dehydration. If there is moisture inside, you should dehydrate the contents for a longer time to avoid spoiling.
  • For best quality, dried fruit, vegetables, herbs, nuts, and bread should not be kept for more than 1 year, if kept in the refrigerator or freezer.
  • Dried meats, poultry, and fish should be stored for no more than 3 months if kept in the refrigerator, or 1 year if kept in the freezer.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

  • After use, unplug the dehydrator from the power supply and let it cool down before cleaning.
  • Use a soft brush to remove food sticking on the trays.
  • Dry all parts with a dry cloth before storing them in the dehydrator.
  • Clean the surface of the body with a wet cloth.
  • Use paper towels to remove any excess marinade.
  • Do not clean the appliance with aggressive chemicals or abrasives in order not to damage the surface.
