SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
CAUTION: Risk of burns! Certain parts of the appliance become very hot during use. Handle only the handles and controls and allow the unit to cool before cleaning or replacing the plates to prevent burns.
- This product is not designed for use by persons (including children) who have reduced physical, sensory or mental capacities or persons with no experience or knowledge, unless they are instructed and supervised in the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. Cleaning and maintenance operations must not be performed by children without supervision.
- Ensure that children do not play with the device.
- Never immerse the appliance in water or other liquids.
- If children are present, do not leave the appliance unattended.
- Before cleaning, unplug the appliance from the wall outlet and allow it to cool. Only change the plates when they have cooled down completely.
- Refer all servicing to qualifi ed personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the unit has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.
- If the power cord or plug is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, an authorized service center, or a similarly qualifi ed person.
- Use only the supplied accessories.
- This equipment is not intended for commercial use and is intended for domestic and similar environments only. This includes kitchens in offi ces, farms, hotels, motels and facilities offering Bed & Breakfasts.
- Ensure that the power cord does not hang from the work surface and does not touch hot surfaces.
- Do not place the appliance near stoves, ovens or gas-fi red heat sources.
- Connect the power cord to the appliance before plugging the appliance into a wall outlet. When not in use, turn all controls to OFF before unplugging the appliance.
- Do not place the appliance near fl ammable materials such as curtains, drapes or wooden walls.
- Do not use an extension cord and do not connect the unit to external timers or remotely controlled sockets.
- Do not operate the unit with the lid open.
PLACEMENT
- Place the appliance on a dry, level, waterproof and heat-resistant surface.
- Place the unit in a location that is diffi cult for children to reach.
- The power outlet must be easily accessible to quickly disconnect the equipment in an emergency.
- Do not place the device in a bookshelf, built-in cupboard or in a confi ned space. Ensure that the air can circulate suffi ciently around the unit.

OPERATION
The Sandwich Maker has removable hotplates. Select the desired plate and install it as follows:
Remove plate: Open the device and press the release button (see arrow).
Remove the plate.
Insert plate: Align the slot of the cooking plate with the hinge. Push
the plate down until you hear it click into place.
Before first Operation
- Clean the plates with a damp cloth.
- Grease the plates with a little butter or cooking oil.
- Plug in the plug and switch on the appliance.
Note: During the initial period of use, odour may be produced by the materials used in the device. This is normal. The odour will diminish after a short period of time.
Preparation of Sandwiches

Insert the plug into the socket. The red light will illuminate.

As soon as the green light is on, the sandwich maker is ready for operation.
Note: The green light turns on and off from time to time while the appliance automatically heats up again. -
Prepare the sandwich ingredients. For a sandwich you need two slices of bread and the desired topping.

To brown the outside of the sandwich nicely, spread some butter on the outside that touches the baking tray.

Cover the toast and place it in the appliance.

Lower the upper baking tray carefully, press the bread and lock the appliance with the lock on the handle.

Heat the sandwich for 2-3 minutes and then check if the sandwich has the golden colour you want.

When the sandwich is ready, remove it with a plastic or wooden spatula. Do not use metallic or sharp kitchen utensils to avoid destroying the non-stick coating of the plates.

After use, unplug the appliance from the mains and allow it to cool before cleaning.
CLEANING AND CARE
Note: before cleaning, unplug the appliance from the wall outlet and allow the appliance and the plates to cool completely.
- It is not necessary to disassemble the unit for cleaning. Use a paper towel or soft sponge to remove oil residue.
- Wipe the plates with a soft, slightly damp cloth.
- Do not immerse the unit in water.
- Do not use scratching or abrasive cleaners as they will damage the non-stick coating.
- Do not use oven cleaner to clean the panels.
- Use a soft, slightly damp cloth and mild detergent to clean the exterior, handles, and other parts.
- If residues are difficult to remove, add some oil and allow to soak for 5 minutes. If the residue is softened, it is easier to remove.
