SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

  • This device may be only used by children 8 years old or older and persons with limited physical, sensory and mental capabilities and / or lack of experience and knowledge, provided that they have been instructed in use of the device by a responsible person who understands the associated risks.
  • Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
  • Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children aged less than 8 years.
  • Children shall not play with the appliance.
  • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
  • This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as: staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments; farm houses; by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments; bed and breakfast type environments.
  • Before connecting the kettle to the power supply, check that the voltage indicated on the appliance corresponds with the voltage in your home. If this is not the same, contact your dealer and do not use the kettle.
  • This appliance has been incorporated with a grounded plug. Please ensure the wall outlet in your house is well earthed.
  • Do not operate the appliance without load to avoid damaging the heat elements.
  • Unplug from the outlet when not in use.
  • Do not let the cord hang over edge of table counter or touch hot surface.
  • Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in a heated oven.
  • Should you accidentally allow the kettle to operate without water; the boil-dry protection will automatically switch it off. If this should occur, allow the kettle to cool before filling with cold water and re-boiling.
  • Ensure that kettle is used on a firm and flat surface where the children can’t touch, this can prevent from overturning the kettle to damage the person or kettle.
  • To protect against a fire, electric shock or personal injury, do not immerse cord, electric plugs or kettle in water or other liquids.
  • Always take care to pour boiling water slowly and carefully without tipping the kettle too fast.
  • Be careful when opening the lid for refilling when the kettle is hot.
  • Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
  • Do not touch the hot surface. Use the handle or the button.
  • Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot water.
  • The appliance is not a toy. Do not let the children play it.
  • The use of accessory attachments that are not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may result in fi re, electric shock or personal injury.
  • While water boiling, avoid contacting with steam from the spout when water is boiling or just after it has switched off . Do not be anxious to uncover the lid.
  • Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning; allow it to cool before putting on or taking off parts and before cleaning the appliance.

CAUTION
Risk of injury! Always ensure the lid is closed and do not lift it while the water is boiling. Scalding may occur if the lid is removed during the brewing cycles.

  • Do not use the appliance for other than intended use.
  • If the kettle is overfi lled, boiling water may be ejected.
  • The kettle is for household use only, not for outdoors.
  • The machine should not be operated by means of an external timer-switch or by means of a separate system with remote control.
  • Do not remove the lid while the water is boiling.
  • If you wish to stop the kettle before the water has boiled, you must switch off the appliance before removing the kettle from its base.
  • This appliance is not designed for commercial use.
  • Our warranty does not cover water kettles that malfunction resulting from failure to descale.
  • The kettle is only to be used with the stand provided.

COMMISSIONING AND OPERATION

Before first use
Before using the appliance for the first time, boil water in the kettle at least twice and then pour it into the spout. Use only fresh water without additives or other ingredients.

Operation

WARNING
Danger of scalding! Do not remove the lid while the water is boiling. Position the lid in such a way that the steam cannot reach the handle.

  1. Place the appliance on a fl at, level surface.
  2. Open the kettle by pressing the button on the handle. Fill the kettle with water. The water level can be read from the water level indicator on the outside of the kettle. Please observe the min. And max. Markings.
  3. Close the lid by releasing the button on the handle of the kettle.
  4. Put the kettle back out of the base station.
  5. Turn on the kettle by pressing the on/off switch. The indicator light will turn on.
  6. The kettle will turn off automatically after the water has boiled. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. Always keep the lid closed when pouring water from the kettle.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  • Always turn the unit off and unplug the power cord from the wall outlet before cleaning.
  • The outside of the appliance can be wiped with a slightly damp cloth if necessary.

Descaling

  • The frequency of descaling depends on the water hardness and frequency of use.
  • If the unit turns off before the water has boiled, it is very likely that it needs to be descaled.
  • Please do not use vinegar for descaling but commercially available citric acid based descaling agent. Read the respective instructions for the correct amount of citric acid.

Instead, it must be taken to a collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment.
