ABOUT THE LIGHT SHOWER

Notes on operation
Congratulations on the purchase of your light shower. The product is very durable and will provide you with many years of use, provided you handle it correctly. Please keep your receipt, these instructions, and the original packaging for reference and storage.
Please read the instructions carefully to get the most benefit from your new device, However, the instructions are not a substitute for advice from a qualified medical advisor.

Intended use
The device is used to treat seasonal depression or winter depression. Daylight increases the energy level of many people and helps them to better adapt to the rhythm of the day and to be more alert. Light showers have been proven to treat the winter blues for several years.

How does the light shower work?
In autumn and winter, the number of sunlight decreases as the days become shorter. The lack of sunlight causes a problem with certain chemicals in the brain in many people and prevents the hypothalamus from working properly. The lack of light, in return, stimulates the production of the hormone melatonin, which makes you sleepy. The light shower radiates with the strength of sunlight, simulating the lack of light during the dark seasons. At the same time, the dangerous UV rays contained in sunlight are filtered out. The extra light helps the brain reduce and level the production of the hormone melatonin, reducing the symptoms of winter depression.

Symptoms of winter depression
Winter depression can manifest itself through the following symptoms:

  • You feel low, listless and fatigued.
  • You have trouble concentrating.
  • You feel lacking in energy.
  • You need more sleep.
  • You are less active than usual.

Contraindications
Use is counterproductive and not recommended for the following diseases and symptoms. Always consult your family doctor first before use if you are affected:

  • Severe depression.
  • Recent eye surgery or diagnoses where bright light should not be allowed to enter the eyes.
  • High blood pressure.
  • Photosensitive skin or lupus erythematosus.

Possible side effects
The following side effects may occur during treatment with the light shower:

  • Headache
  • Sleep problems
  • Eyestrain
  • Nausea

What you can do about it:

  • Increase the distance from the light shower.
  • Don‘t use it late at night or just before going to sleep.
  • Take a break for a few days until symptoms go away and try again.
