Introduction

The ATH-M30x professional monitor headphones from the M-Series combine modern engineering with high-quality materials to provide a comfortable listening experience with improved audio clarity and sound isolation. These adaptable monitoring headphones are appropriate in a variety of circumstances since they are tuned for extremely detailed audio with great mid-range quality. Designed primarily for studio tracking and mixing, they include additional characteristics that make them a fantastic choice for field recording.

These headphones provide precise audio while remaining pleasant to wear. They are decent over-ear headphones that aren’t the greatest on the market, but they perform above average when compared to other headphones at their price point. They also have some noise-canceling capabilities, but no noise cancellation capabilities, which may have an impact on the sound quality and listening experience.

How do you connect your device to the ATH-M30x Headphones?

Because the headphones do not offer wireless connectivity, they are a nice way to connect your smartphone. Simply plug the cable into the audio port on your device.

What is the best way to clean the ATH-M30x headphones?

To clean your headphones, follow these steps:

  • Wipe the headphones with a dry cloth to clean them.
  • To clean the cables, wipe them down with a dry towel as soon as possible.
  • To clean the plug, wipe it clean with a dry towel when it becomes dirty. Use a dry plug instead of a wet plug.
  • To clean the earpads and headbands: If water or perspiration dries on them, the earpads and headbands may fade. Wipe them down with a dry cloth to keep them dry.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are these over-ears? I mean will they cover the ears and not right on the ears?
They are circum-aural, a term which never should have been dropped because it means “around the ears.” In current usage, the term over-ears is used but is simply unclear.

  • Does it have a detachable cord?
    No, the following have detachable cables: ATH-M40x, ATH-M50x, ATH-M50x-R, ATH- M50x-BL, ATH-M50x-BL-R, ATH-M50x-WH, ATH-M50x-WH and ATH-M50mkII.

  • What is the sound leakage when listening to music? Will the people around me hear my music as well?
You have to play music at a high volume for others close around you to hear it. The headphone has little sound leakage, but if others around you can hear music well, you are probably listening at a level unsafe for yourself. When I let my grandson use them, I did not hear sounds. Hope this helps

  • Will these ath-m30x headphones work on a tablet?
Yes, these headphones can easily be powered by any smartphone or tablet. I use them on a laptop, smartphone and tablet and the audio level is ideal at a little under half volume. At three-quarters volume, it’s a little unbearable.

  • Apparently, these are made for recording and sound monitoring, are they good for listening to music in general?
They’re fantastic. I use them to watch movies on my laptop and listen to music on my iPod. The sound is so clear. They’re worth all I paid for them. Better than some of the more expensive brands.

  • What is the differences between the M30x and the original M30? I’m trying to decide which pair to buy, but if the design is the only difference I’d probably like to save a little money and go with the M30s.
Like the other answer stated, complete overhaul in design. Definitely, a better sound, though both headphones will have great sound quality.

  • Do these have a volume control on the cord, or are they dependent on the volume control of the device they’re plugged into?
There is no volume control on the cord. You have to use the volume control on the device that they are plugged into.

  • Would these headphones be a good match for listening to Classical Music as well as most 60-70’s Rock? TK
I have listened to both on these headphones, and I believe the answer is yes. Mid-range is very good and they also carry enough bass and high tones for individual instruments to be heard well.

  • Is the headband expandable?
The earcups slide in and out of the headband, so yes, it is.

  • I have a Dell laptop computer. Will these work with it? I like that they are over the years and have a long cord.
Yes, they will work with any computer.

  • How is the mic? I’m trying to record if this product record well?
The microphone is serviceable, it provides somewhat clear audio, best if at mid-chest level. The audio is quite soft and has a significant amount of background noise in the higher big-name standards. I would suggest keeping the audio quality below Studio Level. Beware the microphone cable is very thin and easily breakable, with little effort. Do not put too much strain on it. If you have the money to spend, I would suggest the Mod Mic.

  • Do they have active noise cancellation?
No, but these have decent noise isolation. I decided not to get noise- canceling technology because I read that it uses a lot more battery life of the device to which you are listening, e.g., laptop, iPod. Plus, I learned that noise-canceling technology works best on steady noise (like the noise of air conditioning) but not so well on sudden, erratic noises like talking. I use these to study at coffee shops, and these headphones block out white noise and other people’s conversations pretty well.

  • Are these headphones good for listening to rock music?
It’s good for all music. My grandkids listen to all kinds of music
