Audio-Technica Turntable Doesn’t Spin
This is an Audio-Technica AT-LP120X turntable/record player.
It occasionally has an issue where the it appears to turn on, but the turntable doesn’t spin.
You can usually fix this issue by holding the start/stop button for a longish period until it starts up. Some users report you can also try tapping the button quickly if the hold method does not fix it. Be sure to have the needle in a safe position when resetting!
Troubleshooting Steps
Let’s Start…
Here, we have the Audio-Technica AT-LP120X turntable/record player.
I just had an issue A couple minutes ago , where it’s been sitting for a few months.
- I go turn it on
- Lights all work and everything,
- Hit the Start/Stop button
- Nothing happens
So I solve this by…
- Pressing and holding down on the Start/Stop button
- Maybe 15 to 30 seconds
You’ll just notice that, after you hold it down for that period of time ….
It’ll just Started Playing, [ Music ] should be good and That’s Solve the issue.
If that did not solve your issue, you may try some additional troubleshooting steps offered by other owners:
Method 2:
- turn the device on
- hold the stop/start button (continue to hold)
- unplug the AC adapter (from the back of the player)
- wait 5 to 10 seconds
- plug the AC adapter back in
- release the stop/start button
Method 3:
- repeatedly press the stop start button and toggle forward/reverse
