Installation

IMPORTANT:
To the installer: Installation of these units should be carried out by a competent person and the appropriate codes of practice adhered to, thus ensuring safe installation. Pass to the user: Do not discard this document. It contains important guidelines on Operation, Loading, Cleaning and Maintenance and should be kept for reference.

DISPOSAL REQUIREMENTS
If not disposed of properly all refrigerators have components that can be harmful to the environment. All old refrigerators must be disposed of by appropriately registered and licensed waste contractors, and in accordance with National laws and regulations.

Positioning/unpacking

Important: Ensure a minimum clearance of 25mm above and beside the cabinet for ventilation and efficient operation. Where possible, ensure the cabinet is not adjacent to a heat source.

Remove the shrinkwrapping, cardboard corner protectors, cardboard lid and packaging from the door opening surround making sure that any sharp instrument used does not cause damage, plus remove any Quality labels. Documentation is inserted into a clear pocket located inside the cabinet. To remove from pallet, cut the cable ties situated through the base plate slot that hold the cabinet to the pallet.

Feet

Models are supplied with adjustable levelling feet already fitted.

Shelf Supports

The HR140, LR140 / HR150 / HR200, LR200 / HR360, LR360 / HR 410, are supplied with slotted removable shelf supports allowing flexible shelf partitions.
The rear supports have an inbuilt ‘slot’ to prevent the shelf from damaging the rear air duct.
The LR150 / LR 410 is supplied with fixed freezer shelves.

Defrosting

The HR150 / HR 410 is fitted with an automatic defrost function ensuring the cooling plate remains free from ice. The condensate water is automatically dispersed using the heat from the refrigeration unit.
The LR150 / LR 410, being static freezer shelves, requires manual defrosting. All the stored product should be removed and placed in a separate freezer storage cabinet. Switch off at the mains electric supply. Leave the door open and place bowls inside to catch the water as the freezer shelves defrost.Once fully defrosted dry the inside of the cabinet and switch on again. Do not replace the frozen food until the cabinet has reached its normal operating temperature.

WARNING: Do not use any sharp instruments or heat to remove the ice from the freezer shelf as this may cause damage.

Cleaning Instructions

IMPORTANT:
Cared for correctly the cabinet will retain its appearance for many years. White Exterior: wipe with a warm damp soapy cloth followed by a clean damp cloth and thoroughly dry. Stainless Steel Exterior: use a proprietary stainless steel cleaner following the manufacturers instructions.
Aluminium Interior: to be washed with soapy water, rinsed and dried thoroughly.

WARNING:
High alkaline cleaning agent or those containing bleaches, acids and chlorines are very harmful to stainless steel. Corrosion and pitting may result from their accidental or deliberate application. If any of these liquids should come into contact with the cabinet during general kitchen cleaning, wipe down the affected area immediately with clean water and rub dry. Never use wire wool or scouring powders on any surface. After cleaning allow the cabinet to reach its normal operating temperature before reloading with product. During usage all spills should be wiped clean immediately but care should be taken not to touch the interior of the freezer cabinet as warm skin can ‘freeze’ to metal.

CONDENSER:
Clean the condenser, located in the unit compartment, when it becomes dirty. Important: Disconnect the mains electrical supply to the machine prior to cleaning the condenser.
Clean the condenser using a soft brush or vacuum cleaner. NOTE: if there are any stubborn grease deposits etc left on or through the condenser call your Foster Authorised Service Company to carry out a full service.
Once the condenser has been cleaned switch the unit on.
Failure to carry out this action may invalidate the warranty of the condensing unit. Any service calls due to lack of maintenance may be chargeable.

Door Gaskets

These should be inspected on a regular basis and replaced if damaged. To clean, wipe with a warm damp soapy cloth followed by a clean damp cloth
and finally thoroughly dry before closing the door.

Shelf Supports & Shelves – All Models

Remove the shelves and shelf support (by removing fixing screw). The shelves are dishwasher safe, however wash the vertical supports with
warm soapy water, rinse and thoroughly dry before replacing.
