Important Safety Instructions

  1. Ensure the appliance is disconnected from the electrical supply before starting any work.
  2. Read and understand all instructions before disassembling any parts or disconnecting electrical connections.
  3. Conduct a full electrical safety test upon completion of the installation.

Parts Check and Preparation

  • Before starting the installation, verify that all parts in the kit are present.

Fitting the Components

  1. Disconnect the appliance from the electrical supply.
  2. Identify and label each cable connected to the controller and note the corresponding outputs.
  3. Remove the display ribbon cable and cables from the existing controller.
  4. Replace existing probes with the new probes provided in the kit.
  5. Install the new wiring centre following the reverse procedure of removal.
  6. Connect outgoing cables to the wiring centre based on their identification.
  7. Replace the front panel or controller housing with the new display module.
  8. Route cables neatly around the wiring centre to prevent trapping.
  9. Conduct a full electrical safety PAT test on the appliance before reconnecting power.

Operating Instructions

  1. Ensure the appliance reaches the correct operating temperature.
  2. Initiate and verify the defrost function.
  3. Provide user instructions to the customer.

These parts and instructions are intended for use by competent personnel only.

  • Ensure that the appliance is isolated from the electrical supply before any work commences.
  • The instructions should be read and understood prior to the disassembly of any parts or the disconnection of any electrical connections.
  • A full electrical safety test shall be carried out upon completion.
  • All models are fitted with an AD2-28 Controller.
  • Note: Be aware that the display is not the controller. The display is connected to the controller.
  • To identify the controller please refer to the identification on this part of the system.

Note: The controller is programmed with the correct parameters for the appliance at the time of manufacture. Any modifications that may have taken place that have required adjustment to the parameters will need to be replicated following installation. Please ensure you have the correct conversion kit for the appliance before commencing any work.

Fitting the Components

  1. Ensure that the appliance is disconnected from the electrical supply.
  2. Identify and label each cable that is connected to the controller and which controller output this is connected to. Note that the pressure switch connected to the controller is now no longer required. This was for controller indication purposes only and this functionality is no longer applicable.
  3. Remove the display ribbon cable.
  4. Remove the cables from the controller.
  5. Remove the probe(s) and replace with the probes provided. The probes should be positioned in the same locations that they are currently. To access the display probe (located at the top left corner of the rear air duct) it will be necessary to remove the shelves and rear air ducts.
  6. Remove the wiring centre from the support brackets by easing the wiring centre forward from the supporting brackets.
  7. Fit the new wiring centre in the reverse procedure to removal. Ensure that the wiring centre is fully engaged with the support brackets.
  8. Connect the outgoing cables to the wiring centre. The outputs are identified as;
    • RL1 – Compressor – Black cable
    • RL2 – Evaporator Fans – Orange Cable
    • RL3 – Defrost (not required on all appliances) – Red Cable
    • RL4 – Lights
  9. Remove the front panel or, where the display is located in a housing at the top of the cabinet remove this housing.
  10. Fit the new display module to the new front panel.
  11. Connect one end of the display cable to the display module and the other end to the PCB and replace the front panel securing it with the screws provided.
  12. Ensure that all cables are neatly routed around the wiring centre to prevent trapping in the wiring centre lid.
  13. Carry out a full electrical safety PAT test on the appliance before reconnecting the power.
  14. Ensure that the appliance reaches the correct operating temperature.
  15. Initiate and verify the defrost function.
  16. Pass the user instructions to the customer.
