SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

  • Check the voltage on the rating plate before use. Only connect the appliance to sockets that correspond to the voltage of the appliance.
  • Keep the appliance and cable away from sources of heat, sharp objects or anything that may cause damage.
  • Do not place the cord under carpets. Do not cover the cord with small clothes, shirts or other similar elements. Place the cord away from traffic areas in order to avoid any risk of tripping over.
  • Do not operate the appliance if the cable or plug is damaged.
  • If the supply cord or plug is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
  • Indoor use only.
  • Do not cover the machine during using.
  • Place the appliance on a stable flat horizontal surface. Make sure the appliance is in an upright position during use.
  • Ensure the appliance is switched OFF before connecting to the mains power supply.
  • Always ensure that hands are dry before operating or adjusting any switch on the product or touching the plug and main supply connections.
  • Do not leave this appliance unattended when it’s in use. Turn off and disconnect the appliance when you leave the room for an extended period.
  • Switch off the appliance and unplug from the mains socket when not in use, before filling, cleaning or other maintenance.
  • To disconnect the appliance, switch it “OFF”, and then remove the plug from the outlet. Do not pull the cord to disconnect the plug.
  • This device may be only used by children 8 years old or older and persons with limited physical, sensory and mental capabilities and/or lack of experience and knowledge, provided that they have been instructed in use of the device by a responsible person who understands the associated risks.
  • Use the appliance only as described in this manual.
  • Do not insert your fingers in the openings of the guard.
  • Do not leave hair, tissue, tablecloths, clothes or curtains near all openings of the fan, they could be sucked into the fan and be taken within the internal moving parts that could cause injury or damage.
  • Do not use the appliance in wet or damp locations such as bathrooms.
  • Do not operate the appliance when it’s not mounted on its wheels or if it’s lying on the side.
  • Make sure the cord is completely extended before use.
  • When in operation, evaporative coolers moisturize the ambient air. Overhumidification of residential rooms should be avoided. Recommendation: 40-50 % relative humidity. Excessive humidity of the air can damage the home and cause health problems.
  • The appliance may only be set up on water- and moisture-proof flooring materials (spilling some drops of water is unavoidable when the content of the tank is changed).
  • With each and every change of tank content, completely remove residual water from the equipment. To prevent nucleation, remove residual water from the equipment and water tank every time after three days of use.

This unit has protection class II or protection by double or reinforced insulation. Due to its design, it does not require a protective earth conductor with an earthing connection.

Assembly

| Open the packaging and carefully remove the device. Place it on a firm and level surface.

2| Check that the accessories match the list.
3| Take out the casters and attach them to the bottom of the unit. Attach the rollers with brakes to the back and the rollers without brakes to the front.
4| Check that the separate plate of the water tank is in place and that the filter is inserted.
5| Fill water into the tank and place the ice box inside before fixing the water tank.

Note: The device can be operated by pressing the buttons on the control panel or remote control, or via the Klarstein app (via WIFI).

OPERATION

Switching on the device/switching to standby
As soon as the power supply is connected, the STANDBY indicator lights up and a short beep sounds. The light flashes alternately dark-light-dark-light. The unit is now in standby mode.

  • Touch the STANDBY key to switch the unit on. The indicator light goes out and the display in the center shows the ambient temperature. The unit enters the operating mode. The air is blown out at low speed. The SPEED indicator lights up green.
  • Touch the STANDBY key again to turn the unit off. The unit stops working immediately, leaving the blink of WI-FI and STANDBY.

Setting the speed
Turn the unit on and press the SPEED key several times to set the speed to high > medium > low. The indicator light will illuminate as follows:

  • High speed: red light
  • Medium speed: blue light
  • Low speed: green light

Setting the timer
Turn the unit on, press the TIMER button several times to set the desired time from 1-12 hours. The SPEED indicator lights up and the display shows the set hours. Each press of the button increases the time by 1 hour. Once the timer is set, the SPEED indicator will remain lit and the display will show the ambient temperature.

  • Briefly press the TIMER key to check the timer setting. Within 5 seconds, briefly press the TIMER key again to reset the hours.
  • Long press the TIMER key to clear the timer setting. The TIMER display goes out.

Setting the oscillation mode of the fan flaps

  • Switch on the device and press the SWING (left/right) key to activate the oscillation mode (left/right). The SWING (left/right) indicator lights up. The fan blades move to the right and left to direct the airflow to the right and left. Press the SWING (left/right) key again to stop the oscillation mode, the indicator light goes out.
  • Switch on the unit and press the SWING (up/down) key to activate the oscillation mode (up/down). The SWING (up/down) indicator lights up. The fan flaps move to the right and left to direct the airflow to the right and left. Press the SWING (up/ down) key again to stop the swing mode, the indicator light will go off.

Setting the wind mode
Turn on the unit, the unit will start in normal mode. Press the SPEED key to set the speed manually.

  • Press the SLEEP key to activate the sleep mode, the SLEEP indicator lights up. In sleep mode, press the SPEED key to adjust the speed. Press the SLEEP key again to exit the sleep mode.
  • Press the NATURAL key to activate the natural mode, the corresponding indicator lights up. In natural mode, press the SPEED key to adjust the speed. Press the NATURAL key again to exit the natural mode.
  • Press the SUPER key to activate the superwind mode, the associated indicator lights up and the fan blows at the highest and strongest level. Press the SUPER key again to exit the Super Wind mode.

Air cooling mode
Note: In order for the water to be cooled down for the air cooling mode, place the ice box in the freezer for 2 hours and then place the box in the water tank on the left side.
Before turning on the unit, fill the water tank with a maximum of 5 liters of water and insert it into the unit. Before inserting it, make sure that the honeycomb filter is inserted. Press the COOL button to activate the air cooling mode, the corresponding indicator will light up. The water is pumped up, runs through the honeycomb filters and cooled down air flows out of the air outlet at the front. Press the COOL key again to deactivate the cooling mode. The indicator light goes out.
Water alarm
In air cooling mode, the unit will shut down when the water capacity in the tank drops below the warning level. The water alarm icon flashes red to remind the user to refill the water. The indicator light will turn off and the unit will continue to operate when enough water has been refilled.
Water purge alarm
This function reminds the user to clean the water tank regularly to prevent bacteria from multiplying. If the water remains in the tank for more than 3 days in standby mode, all
indicators will flash to remind you to clean the tank and fill fresh water before use.
Ionizer function (not available on all units)
If the ionizer function is available on your unit, press the ION button, the indicator will light up and the function will be activated. Press the ION key again, the indicator goes
off and the function is terminated.
Turn on WIFI function
Turn on the unit, the WIFI indicator will light up and flash quickly. As soon as you have connected the air cooler to your smartphone as described in the chapter Device control
via smartphone, the WIFI indicator lights up constantly. Press the WIFI button for 3 seconds to reset the connection. The display will then flash again.

DEVICE CONTROL BY SMARTPHONE

If you integrate the device into your home WiFi, you can conveniently operate it via the associated Klarstein app. The app not only allows you to remotely control the device via
your smartphone, but also gives you access to recipes and additional information.
Follow these steps to connect your smartphone to your Klarstein device:

  1. Download the Klarstein app first by scanning the QR code with your smartphone (see below), or download it directly from App Store or Google Play.
  2. Make sure your smartphone is connected to the same WiFi network that your Klarstein device is to be connected to.
  3. Open the Klarstein app.
  4. Sign in to your account. If you do not have an account, sign up in the Klarstein app.
  5. Follow the instructions from the app.

Use the scan function of your smartphone to scan the QR code and save the app on your smartphone.
Note: The app provides further information on how to use the app and helps on how to connect to your device as soon as you open it for the first time.

Troubleshooting connection problems
If your Klarstein device cannot be found in the WLAN, check the following:

  • Is the device plugged in?
  • Is the WiFi feature of my phone enabled?
  • Is the WiFi function of the Klarstein device activated? (Follow the instructions in the app)
  • Has the WLAN password been entered correctly?
  • Are the router, Klarstein device and smartphone in the immediate vicinity during the connection attempt? (Ideally no more than 5 m apart)
  • If you have deactivated the 2.4 GHz band in the settings of your wireless router, activate it in your router settings.

Note: For further help, follow the instructions in the app when setting up the connection.

CLEANING AND CARE

Always disconnect from main socket before cleaning the unit or air filter. Avoid contact with moving parts. Use only a soft and damp cloth to clean the unit. Do not clean the unit by spraying it or immersing it in water or any other liquids and never allow water to drip into the housing. Do not use gasoline, paint thinner or other chemicals to clean the unit. Ensure that the unit is switched off from the main socket before removing. Don’t lift or move by pushing the unit to prevent it from leaking. Always empty the water tank and move the unit slowly. Be careful not to knock the unit over! Do not leave/store with water inside. Store the appliance in its original box or cover the unit to protect it from
dust in a dry place if it is not being used for a long period of time.
Cleaning the Filtration Mesh
This is easily accessible by removing the rear plate and removing the filter. It is recommended that you clean the air filters every two months (more often if visibly soiled). Built up dust on the filter will decrease the airflow volume.

  • Remove the plug from the wall outlet.
  • Catch the filtration mesh handle and take it out.
  • Clean the filtration mesh with mild detergent and soft brush.
  • Make sure the filtration mesh is completed dry before installing.

Cleaning the water tank

  • Remove the plug from the wall outlet.
  • Pull out the water tank.
  • Clean the water tank with mild detergent and soft brush.
  • Put the water tank in place and fix it after cleaning.
    Note: Pay attention to the pump, it may fall down when pulling out the tank, please put the pump in place before placing the tank back.

Replacement of Honeycomb Filter

  • Take out the filtration mesh (Fig 1).
  •  Unscrew the 2 pcs screw ST2.9*14 (Fig 3).
  • Replace the honeycomb filter with HEPA filter (bought from the agent only) , then assemble the filtration mesh back, use it as air purifier and air cooling fan.
