carefully. It is designed to help you install and use the VGB 100 with ease.

Introduction
1.1 Overview
The VGB 100 video capture stick creates digital videos on your Hard Drive.
With S-Video and RGB In, you can capture and edit footage from your camcorder,
VCR, DVD player, and other video devices. The enclosed software can convert
the recorded file to MPEG 1, MPEG2, AVI, WMV, ASF, MP4, and QTMOV in 720×576
pixels.

Driver and Software Installation
3.1 Installing Honestech via Online Download

Insert the VGB 100. Please ensure your Antivirus is switched off, and that you
download ‘Driver +VHS to DVD 4.0 SE’
Select the relevant Language
• Click ′Next′
• Please wait whilst the Installation loads
• Click ′Install′
• Click ′OK′
• Select the ′Setup′ Language
• Click ′Next′
• Accept the License Agreement
• Choose where to save files, and click ′Next′
• Click ‘Next’
• Click ‘Install’
• Click ‘Finish’
3.2 Software Installation
Step 1:
Insert the VGB 100 into your PC/ Laptop. Then, insert the Software CD. Switch
off any Antivirus that is running, and then select ‘Driver Install’ on the
Window that loads.
Note: The Software CD is not compatible with a CD Drive. If your
PC/Laptop does not have the appropriate drive, you can download the Honestech
Software for free at https://augustint.com/en/downloadsoft-9.html
Step 2:
- Click Install
- Accept the required authorization
Step 3: Click “OK”
After the installation has been completed, you should see USB 2.0 Audio Capture and USB 2.0 Video Capture in your `Device Manager
3.3 Installing the Software Disk
Step 1: Click on ‘Software Install’
Step 2: Select your Language of choice, and press ‘Next’
Step 3: Accept the Licence Agreement, and press ‘Next’
Step 4: Select ‘Next,’ and continue
Step 5: Click ‘Install’
Step 6: Click ‘Finish’ to complete the Installation
The Honestech Logo will now be on your PC/Laptop Home Screen
Using Honestech Software
Step 1: Insert the Licence Key. This can be found on your CD Wallet.
Step 2: Once in the Software, click on ‘Options’
Step 3: Then, make sure the following is selected for Video and Audio:
Video Device: Conexant Polaris Video Capture
Audio Device: Conexant Polaris Audio Capture
Step 4: Click ′settings′
Step 5: If you are using the Red, Yellow, and White Cables, select
‘Composite’
If you are using the Black Cable, select ‘S-Video’
Step 6: Click ‘Control’
Step 7: Select ‘PAL_I,’ and press ‘OK’
If you wish to change the location in which your Captured Videos are saved, please do the following:
- Click ‘Options’
- Click on the ‘Yellow’ Folder that loads
- Select the location you wish to save to
Troubleshooting
No Video in the Preview Screen:
- On your PC/Laptop Home Page, right-click on the `Honestech’ Icon
- Select ‘Properties,’ and the ‘Compatibility’
- Tick ‘Reduced Colour Mode’
- Underneath this, select ‘8 Bit’
Blue Screen Loads:
- Check the USB and Cable Connections
- Check the Scart Adapter is set to ‘Output,’ AND is plugged into the AV/TV 1 Scart Socket
- Check the Source Device is playing correctly
Video Quality is Poor
- See if formats other than PAL_I provide better Video Quality
- Switch to a different USB Port on your PC/Laptop
PC/Laptop does not Recognise USB Stick
- Deactivate any Antivirus/Malware on your PC/Laptop
- Reinsert the USB, and install the Drivers as per the Instructions
- Accept any Terms that load
Selected Device Cannot Be Used
- Click on the ‘Windows’ Icon, and select ‘Settings
- Select ‘Privacy,’ and then select ‘Camera’
- Make sure ‘Allow apps to access your camera’ is switched ‘On’
- Ensure that ‘Camera’ is switched to ‘On’ in the list of Apps below
License Key is Not Working
- Please ensure that the Digits are spaced out correctly and that there have been no typos
- If you have made no errors and the Key is still not working, please contact us for help

- A Picture of the Licence Key as displayed on the CD Wallet
- A Picture/Screenshot of how it is entered into the Software
Warranty
This product is guaranteed for twelve months from the date of the original
purchase. In the unlikely event of any defect arising due to faulty materials
or workmanship, the unit will be either replaced or repaired free of charge
(where possible) during this period. An alternative product will be offered in
case the product is no longer available or repairable.
This warranty is subject to the following conditions:
- The warranty is only valid within the country where the product is purchased.
- The product must be correctly installed and operated in accordance with the instructions given in this user manual.
- The product must be used solely for domestic purposes.
- The warranty only covers the main unit and does not cover the accessories.
- The warranty does not cover the damage caused by misuse, negligence, accident, and natural disaster.
- The warranty will be rendered invalid if the product is resold or has been damaged by inexpert repairs. The manufacturers disclaim any liability for incidental or consequential damages.
- Please consult our customer adviser before returning any product; we are not responsible for any unexpected product returns.
- Any faulty product must be kept and returned in the original packaging with all the accessories and the original copy of the purchase receipt.
The warranty is in addition to and does not diminish, your statutory or legal rights.
