WHAT DD YOU NEED?

1. Cellphone or tablet with
   Android 6.0 or higher / iOS l 0 or higher

2. NI-Fl router with an INTERNET connection

3. NI-Fl 2.4GHz 802.lln

4. Philips head screwdriver

Before setup, make sure your ph:lne Is connected to the 2.4GHz WI-Fl network that your Neon will be placed on.
You may also need to turn on location to find nearby devices. TIP: Do you know your Wi-R rietworl< name and password? Write It down now if it’s hard to remember.

ANYTHING ELSE?

Your Neon LED Light Strip Is very f!eXble and can be used to write messages or draw glowing images. If your design ideas are ambitious. try drawing it out on paper first and planning whe1e the mounting clips should be placed.

SETUP MPLETE SETUP BEFORE INSTALLATION

1. sTEP 1
   Remove your Neon and all components from the box.

2. STEP 2
   Download u MCINSTER SMART app from the App Store (for ! Phones) or Google Play Store (for Android phones).

3. STEP 3
   Make sure your stories or tablet is successfully connected to the 2.4GHz WI-Fl network that your Neon will be placed on.
   Open u MDNSTER’ SMART app and create an account by following the on-screen instructions.

4. STEP4
   It is recommended to first pair Neon in a location indoors and close to your router BEFORE installation.
   Plug the power adapter into the port on the cable and connect the other end to a powered wall outlet. Toe LED Light Strip Will to begin blinking rapidly when it has entered pairing mode and is ready to pair. Pairing Modes

   Press and hold the button for 5-6 seconds to enter pairing mode or change between pairing modes.

5. STEP 5 In the MONSTER SMART app, select the ” In the upper right corner of the home screen to add a new device, and then select “Lighting (WI-Fi)” to add your device.

6. If needed. cl1ek “Net Pamng Mode” 1n the upper right lo switch the default EZ pairing mode for 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks to AP mode for mixed WI-Fl networks.
   STEP 6 Confirm that the LED indicator is RAPIDLY blinking. Confirm that the network displayed is your 2.4GHz WI-Fl network. then enter your ‘NI-Fi password and click ·confirm·
   Confirm that the LED indicator is SLOWLY blinking. Confirm the neN/Erik Is your mixed WI-Fl network. enter your Wi-Fi password and click “Confirm”. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your device via wireless aa:ess point.
   Once complete, your device will be connected to the network Confirm or change the settings for your device ard then click “Done”, YoUI Neon is row setup and you can proceed to Installation.
   You can now use the app to add voice control ( see PB 8 ). and adjust settings. create custom lighting effects. set schedules.

INSTALLATION

1. STEP 1
   Determine where you will install the Neon. Make sure the location Is close enough to a power source for the cord to reach without becoming a tripping hazard.
   Before Installing. try out different designs with your Neon on the floor or a table to decide what you would like to create!

2. STEP 2
   Using the Included mounting clips and screws. ard a Phillips head screwdriver (not included), mount the Neon in the desired location. For best results place one clip at least every 12 Inches to secure the entire light strip evenly.
   TIP: Mo.-e some mounting dips closer to the corner to better secure the strip around turns, use fewer on straight areas.

3. STEP 3
   Once Installed. plug the power adapter into the port on the cable and screw on the water-tight locking cap until secure. Connect the other erd to a powered wall outlet. and you’re done! (Outdoors this must be a GFCI-protected outlet.)
   NOTE: If desired, you can cut the light strip to a shorter length. Howe,er, IF THE PRODUCT HAS BEEN CUT IT WILL NO LONGER BE WATERPROOF or covered under warranty.

HOW TO USE

Your LED Light Strip can be easily controlled by the controller. using u MCINSTER SMAAT app to access advanced and customizable lighting effects. or by using a compatible voice assistant product for hands-free operation. (seepage B)

• Why is my device failing to connect to my Wi-Fi network7

  • Make sure your phone or tablet is successfully connected to the 2.4GHz WI-Fl network that your device will be placed on.
  • You may first need to enable and allow location services on your phone or tablet to find nearby devices.
  • If your Wi-Fi network is a mixed 2.4GHz/5GHz network, try using AP pairing mode for better results.
  • If you still have issues with your mixed network, you may need to access your router settings and/or call your Internet Service Provider to create a separate 2.4GHz network.

• Can I cut this LED Light Strip7
  Yes. If desired, you can cut the light strip to shorter lengths by cutting on the designated scissors marks. However, once cut, the strip will no longer be water resistant or covered under warranty.

• Can I attach additional LED Light Strips to this one7
  This strip is not designed with an expansion plug, but you can easily group multiple strips together in the app in order to control them all as one. Click on the menu button in the upper right corner and then click “Create Group” to group your devices.

• ls this product water-resistant?

  • Yes, ensure that the power adapter connection is tightly sealed.
  • Yes, but the power adapter must be connected to a GFCI-protected hooded flush type cover plate receptacle marked “Wet Location” while in use outdoors.
  • Yes, but the power adapter is NOT water-resistant. Do not submerge the strip, controller, or adapter in water.

VOICE CONTROL OPTIONAL

AMAZON VOICE CONTROL SETUP
Make sure your Amazon Alexa device is installed and setup

1. Open the Alexa app and go to Skills in the menu
2. Search for and choose II MCINSTER’ SMART
3. enable the Skill and authorize your account using your login information
   NOTE: Use the same login information that you used to create your Monster Smart account At any time, go to the Alexa app to set nicknames and rooms for your devices. You can also rename devices in the Monster Smart app.
   Using the name Neon, or the name you assigned your Neon, you can ask Alexa to control your device, just say “Alexa,” and ask: “Turn on my Neon”, “Set my Neon to blue”, “Set my Neon to 50% brightness”, and more!

GOOGLE VOICE CONTROL SETUP
Make sure your Google Assistant device is installed and set up.

1. STEP l: Open the Google Home app, go to the Home menu, and tap the”+” button
2. STEP 2: Click “Set up device”
3. STEP 3: Click “Have something already set up 7”
4. STEP 4: Search for and choose II MCINSTER’ SMART and authorize your account using your login information

SIRI VOICE CONTROL SETUP Requires iPhone running iOS 12 or later.

1. STEP l : Open the 11 MCINSTER’ SMART app and go to the “Smart” menu, tap the “+” button to create a new Tap To Run Smart Scene
2. STEP 2: Tap “launch Tap To Run” and fill out the information
3. STEP 3: Once your Smart Scene is created and saved, click the button that appears at the bottom of the screen that says “Add to Siri” to open the list of options
4. STEP 4: Select your new Tap To Run Smart Scene from the list and click “Add to Siri”
5. STEP 5 : Create a custom phrase to say to Siri to run your Smart Scene (this can be any verbal command) Now Siri can use your voice and custom verbal command to turn your device on or off, activate your last used lighting scene, adjust Neon at the same time as your other smart devices, or whatever you’ve set up as your Tap To Run Smart Scene.

NOTES
WATER-RESISTANCE
Your Neon is water-resistant and is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. The power adapter is NOT water-resistant. To ensure maximum water protection:

• Ensure that the power adapter connection is tightly sealed.
• The power adapter must be connected to a GFCI-protected hooded flush-type cover plate receptacle marked “Wet Location” while in use outdoors.
  Do not submerge the strip, controller, or adapter in water. Do not cut, puncture, or otherwise damage the strip.
