Instructions for Installation and Care of American Landmaster LM500
Full Cab with Aero-Vent Poly Windshield
AL-LM500-FC04
Notice: Do not smoke inside the cab or expose the enclosure to direct
flames. The cab is Flammable.
Be sure to read these instructions thoroughly before opening and installing
the LM500 Full Cab with Poly Windshield. The installation is best done when
the temperature is 70 degrees F. or warmer. The temperature affects the
adhesive Velcro, if conditions prevent installing in warmer weather it helps
to store the adhesive Velcro at room temperature prior to installation.
- Carefully open the carton and remove the enclosure on a large flat surface that is clean and free of dirt.
- Check over the parts included in the carton with the parts list shown below:

Soft Doors:
-
Begin by holding the door up to the frame and attaching it using the double-sided Velcro strips sewn perpendicular to the edge of the door. At each of the double-sided strips take one of the 3″ adhesive Velcro strips and adhere it to the inside of the frame. Then wrap the double-sided strip around it so that the adhesive strip holds it firmly in place. The following diagrams show how it should look.
-
Next, take the 33″ and 14″ adhesive Velcro strips and run them down the back of the roll cage facing towards the rear of the vehicle. You will see two double-sided Velcro tabs sewn along the back of the doors. The adhesive strips must be aligned so that both tabs can attach to them. See the photos on the next page.
-
Now do the same for the 13″ and 4″ Tabs on the front lower portion of the door. REAR WINDOW:
-
Begin by placing the 38″ adhesive Velcro strips across the top of the roll cage. Make sure to place it on top of the bar. The photo on the next page shows how it should look.
-
Next, place it on the two Velcro tabs down the sidebars. Start at the top at the crossbar and work your way down the tube.
-
The bottom of the Rear Window is held in place by the 39″ adhesive Velcro strip attached to the plastic piece separating the bed from the seats. See the photo on the next page. POLYCARBONATE WINDSHIELD
-
Install using the directions included with the windshield. Do Not install the top brace.
TOP CAP -
After you have installed your Lexan windshield installed on your LM500 you can take the straps with grommet holes in them and install them on the middle bolt of the windshield. Put the grommet through the bolt and reattach. The strap with the loop should look like the photo below.
-
Next, take the other two straps with Velcro sewn on one end and wrap them around the roll cage in the rear just under the seat belt. You will need to pull the double-sided tab up and wrap the Velcro around the bar letting the strap come out by the seat belt winder. See the photo on the next page.
-
Now place the top over the entire vehicle, the front of the top is identified by the sides not being as steeply curved, and begin by lacing the front straps through the ladder lock buckles sewn to the front corners of the top. The diagram below shows how to use a ladder buckle. Now run those straps up and through the ladder lock buckles sewn to the rear of the top.
You now need to tighten and loosen the strap of the top so that it is centered correctly. -
Now install the top brace of the windshield over the top of the front of the top cap. This seals it off so that less air gets into the cab. Take a small knife and poke the material where each hole is so that a bolt can get through. See the photo below.
Cleaning and Storage Recommendations:
- Before removing the Cab for storage, make sure it is very clean in order to prevent scratching of the window panels. Clean with a soft rag or sponge using a mild liquid detergent soap and warm water solution. Never rub the windows with a dry cloth or rag! Let the Cab dry thoroughly before attempting to roll it for storage.
- It is important that the Cab be rolled up for storage rather than folding. Folding will cause damage to the windows!!! Carefully roll up the Cab similar to the way it was when it was packed at the factory. On a large, clean, and flat surface, fold the doors over the rear panel first, then, interleave the top and windshield on top of the doors. Begin rolling the Cab into a roll approximately 8 inches in diameter. Put the rolled Cab back into the carton for storage at normal room temperature. It is best not to expose the Cab to either extremely hot or cold temperatures when storing.
- A special cleaner conditioner is available from Falcon Ridge that will greatly increase the service life of the Cab Enclosure. In addition, if the additional hook and loop sets are needed, they can also be ordered.
Thank you for your purchase!
