IMPORTANT SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

Do not use this appliance in a manner different from the instructions in this manual.

  • Remove all packaging and marketing materials from the appliance before you use it for the first time.
  • Make sure the connecting voltage corresponds to values on the appliance type label.
  • The appliance is intended for household use only; it is not designed for commercial application.
  • Do not leave the appliance unattended during operation.
  • Do not use the appliance outdoors or on wet surfaces as there is a risk of electric shock.
  • Only place the appliance on a stable and heat-resistant surface away from other heat sources.
  • Keep the appliance away from any sources of heat, such as radiators, ovens, etc. Do not expose the appliance to direct sunlight or moisture.
  • The temperature of accessible parts of the appliance may be high during operation – danger of getting burnt.
  • Do not insert any items made of paper or plastic inside the appliance.
  • Do not touch the hot surface. Use the handles and buttons. Use kitchen mitts (potholders) to handle hot sections.
  • Never pull the power cord when disconnecting the machine from the socket; grasp and pull the plug, not the cord.
  • Make sure the power cord does not hang over the edge of the working area where children might reach it.
  • Never pull the supply power cord or use it to carry the appliance.
  • Never use the appliance with a damaged power cord or plug. Contact an authorised service centre immediately to have any such defect repaired.
  • Do not allow children or irresponsible people to handle the appliance. Use the appliance out of reach of these people.
  • Any physically challenged people, people with reduced sensory perception or insufficient mental capacity, or people who have not been familiarised with its operation may only use the appliance under the supervision of a responsible person who is familiar with these instructions.
  • Always be extremely careful when using the appliance while children are nearby.
  • Do not allow the appliance to be used as a toy.
  • Do not use any other accessories except those recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Do not touch the appliance with damp or wet hands.
  • Turn off the appliance and disconnect the plug from the mains outlet in the event of any failure.
  • Connect the power cord to the pressure cooker power supply socket first, and then to the mains outlet.
  • Do not immerse the power cable, the plug, or the appliance itself in water or any other liquid.
  • Check the appliance and its power cord regularly for damage. Never turn the appliance on if it is damaged.
  • Prior to disconnecting the appliance from the mains, make sure the appliance is turned off.
  • Use the appliance in well-ventilated rooms.
  • While operating the appliance, you can take off the lid provided the conditions stated by the manufacturer are adhered to.
  • Always pull the plug from the electric voltage outlet before fixing or removing accessories!
  • WARNING
    • Never carry the appliance while hot or containing hot food.
    • Do not attempt to repair the appliance yourself. Contact an authorised service centre. Failure to follow the manufacturer‘s instructions may cause refusal of warranty repair.

General information

  • This device has many uses, including: preserving; cooking; making hot drinks; keeping liquids heated; blanch-ing vegetables; etc.
  • Thick, syrupy liquids must be heated slowly and stirred constantly to prevent from scorching.
  • The device should not be left to boil dry as this can damage the enamel surface. The device must be left to cool thoroughly before adding more water to prevent the possibility of scalding from steam.
  • There is the possibility of a smell arising during the first use. This will dissipate after a short period.

Capacity
The device has a capacity of 27 litres. The liquid level must be no higher than 4cm below the upper edge of the machine.

Important information:

  • Before using for the first time, the device should be boiled.
  • Fill the device with about 6 litres of water, set the thermostat to maximum, then switch on by turning the timer in a clockwise direction to 60 minutes. After the set time, the appliance switches off automatically.
  • Once cooled, the machine is ready to be used.
  • The body of the pot may have elliptical form, which will get round once it is warmed.

PROCESS

  1. Place the preserving grill into the appliance.
  2. Place tightly-sealed jars onto the grill.
  3. A maximum of 11 jars with a 0,72 litre or 34×370 litre capacity can  be sterilised/pasteurised.
  4. Fill the appliance with water until the jars are 75 % covered. Make  sure the jars are well sealed so that no water can penetrate.
  5. Replace cover.
  6. Set the desired temperature as indicated by the table. The stated  times refer to the actual cooking time, which begins when the set  temperature is reached.
  7. Heating may take up to 90 minutes. When the set temperature is reached, an alarm tone will sound.
  8. When you hear the beep, switch the timer on. To set the device to continuous, turn the dial  anti-clockwise.
  9. Now the heating phase will begin.
  10. Once the beep has sounded, adjust the cooking time according to the table.
    CAUTION: The time and temperature is indicative only depends on the amount of water and fetal maturity.

CAUTION: The jars are hot after preserving. Take care not to burn yourself. Please use appropriate safety wear to remove the jars.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Keep preserves in a cool, dark and dry place.

Heating fluids; keeping fluids heated; warming mulled wine

  • This device is ideal for the heating of liquids, punch or mulled wine.
  • Take care when filling the device. The liquid level must be no higher than 4cm below the top edge, otherwise there is a risk of overflowing.
  • Replace the cover then select desired temperature, turning the dial anti-clockwise to set to continuous heating. Turn the device on – the liquid will now be heated and kept warm in accordance with the thermostat setting.
  • An alarm tone will sound when the desired temperature is reached. Stir the liquid regularly in order to distribute the heat evenly. The alarm switch can now be turned off.
  • Place a bucket under the tap and press the lever. When the desired amount of liquid is in the cup, simply release the lever. If you want to draw large amounts of liquid, pull the lever up until it locks into place. Liquid will run until you release the lever again.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  • Attention: Always remove the power plug before cleaning the appliance! Danger of electrical shock!
  • NEVER submerse the appliance in water or other liquids!
  • Clean the appliance with a lightly moist cloth. For stubborn soiling use a mild detergent on the cloth.
  • Attention:
    • Do not use abrasive or aggressive cleaning materials. These could attack the upper surfaces and irreparably damage the appliance.
    • Clean the preserving grill in a mild soapy solution and rinse it with clear water. Proper maintenance will ensure years of service of your appliance. Clean the appliance after every use.

WARNING!

  • faucet Always disconnect the power supply cable from the mains outlet before cleaning the appliance.
  • Make sure the appliance has cooled down before handling it.
  • Only use a wet cloth for cleaning the surface; never use detergents or hard objects, as they may damage it.
  • Never clean the unit under running water; do not rinse it or submerge in water.

Cleaning the pouring tap

To clean the pouring tap thoroughly, you can unscrew the pouring lever.

  1. Dismantle the pouring lever.
  2. Place the pouring lever in a mild soapy solution and swirl it back and forth.
  3. Rinse it off with clear water.
  4. To clean the pouring tap, allow a mild soapy solution to flow through it. Should there be stubborn soiling on the inside of the pouring tap use a pipe/bottle cleaner or similar to remove it.
  5. Afterwards, rinse the pouring tap through with clear water.
  6. Re-assemble the pouring lever back on to the pouring tap.

Scale removal

  • Deposits of scale on the bottom of the appliance lead to increased energy consumption and reduce the service life of the appliance.
  • Descale the appliance as soon as scale deposits become apparent.
  • Use a standard commercial descaling product (No vinegar should be used). Proceed as described in the instructions for usage of the descaler.
  • After descaling, rinse the appliance with lots of clean and clear water.
    Attention: The supplier reserves the right to change the shape of the lid.

Storage

  • Wind the cable around the cord storage and insert the plug into the plug holder in the middle of the appli-ance base.
  • Store the fruit preserver at a cool and dry location.

REPAIRS & MAINTENANCE

Any extensive maintenance or repair requiring access to the internal parts of the product shall be performed by an authorized service center.

ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

  • Packaging materials and obsolete appliances should be recycled.
  • The transport box may be disposed of as sorted waste.
  • Polyethylene bags shall be handed over for recycling.

Appliance recycling at the end of its service life:

  • A symbol on the product or its packaging indicates that this product should not go into household waste.
  • It must be taken to the collection point of an electric and electronic equipment recycling facility. By making sure this product is disposed of properly, you will help prevent the negative effects on the environment and human health that would otherwise result from inappropriate disposal of this product. You can learn more about recycling this product from your local authorities, a household waste disposal service or in the shop where you bought this product.

WARRANTY TERMS

Warranty

  • The manufacturer (or importer) is responsible for ensuring the product complies with the requirements of applicable legal regulations as well as those of the relevant technical standards. Moreover, they are responsible for ensuring the product has the properties the manufacturer described in documents related to the goods or those reasonably expected by the customer with regard to the nature of the goods or based on advertising produced by the manufacturer, and fur-ther they are responsible for ensuring the product is fi t for the purpose proposed by the manufacturer or that a product of the same type is normally used for.

  • The quality warranty term is 24 months from product takeover by the customer.

  • The warranty does not apply to wear and tear caused by regular use. The customer shall not be entitled to any warranty claims if, prior to taking the product over, they knew the product contained a defect or if the defect is attributable to the customer.

  • The warranty specifically does not apply:

    • if the product installation, operation and service conditions stipulated in the product operating manual have not been adhered to,
    • to malfunctions caused due to mechanical, heat or chemical damage, short circuit, over voltage or incorrect installation,
    • to malfunctions caused by an inexpert third-party intervention,
    • to malfunctions caused by natural disaster,
    • to malfunctions caused by insufficient or inappropriate maintenance in violation of the operating manual, including malfunctions caused by water and other sediments,
    • to changes in colour of the heating surface or to scratching of the surface caused as a result of us-ing the products in an unusual manner,
    • to appearance and functional changes caused by exposure to sunlight, thermal radiation of water and other sediments,
    • if the service life of certain product parts expires,
      e. g. for accumulators, bulbs, etc.
  • The warranty does not apply to any products and ser-vices provided along with the product (gifts, promo-tional articles, etc.).

Filing a complaint

  • A complaint against a product defect must be fi led as soon as identified, yet no later than before the end of the warranty term.
  • The customer must file a  product complaint with the dealer from which they have purchased the pro-duct, or with any authorised service centre, a  list of which is included in the product package, or available at www.my-concept.com.
  • While fi ling a  product complaint, the product must be duly cleaned and securely packed so as to prevent any damage during its transport to an authorised service centre, where relevant, unless the product is delivered in person.
  • The customer must submit proof of having concluded a purchase contract for the product by producing the receipt.
  • While fi ling their complaint, the customer must indicate the noted defect and identify the preferred com-plaint application method.

Complaints processing

  • As long as the noted defect may be removed, the user has the right to have the defect duly removed free of charge on a timely basis.
  • Where such a  procedure is not reasonable with regard to the nature of the defect, the user may require to be supplied a  new defect-free product (replacement), or, where the defect applies to a  part of the product only, replacement of the part concerned. However, if replacement of the product or any part thereof is not proportionate with regard to the nature of the defect, especially if the defect can be removed without undue delay, the customer has the right to have the defect removed free of charge.
  • If the noted defect is not removable, or if the custom-er becomes entitled to replacement of the product or a  part thereof, yet the replacement is not possible, for example due to the product having been sold out, the customer has the right to return the product (withdrawal from the contract).
  • The customer shall have the right to a new product (re-placement) or to replacement of a part of the product even if the defect can be removed, provided they can-not properly use the product due to repeated occurrence of the defect or due to a high number of such defects. In such a case, the customer also has the right to return the product (by withdrawing from the contract).
  • If the product is not returned (the customer does not withdraw from the contract), or if the customer does not apply the right to a new defect-free product (replacement), to replacement of a part thereof or to repair of the product, they may request a reasonable discount. The customer also has a right to a reason-able discount if a  new defect-free product cannot be supplied to them, or if a product part cannot be replaced or the product repaired unless the situation is remedied within a reasonable time limit, or if remedying the situation would create major discomfort on the part of the customer.
  • The seller, authorised service centre or a staff member authorised by them must decide about each complaint immediately or within three business days in complicated cases. This term does not include a reasonable period of time, depending on the type of product concerned,

  • required for the defect to be assessed by an expert. A complaint, including defect removal, must be dealt with without any undue delay, yet no later than within 30 calendar days of the complaint fi ling date, unless the seller and the customer agree on a later deadline.
  • On returning the product (withdrawing from the con-tract) the customer must return any accessories and documents supplied along with the product.
  • The customer does not have the right to keep the defective parts and components of the product re-placed as part of a repair of the product.
  • This shall be without prejudice to any other rights the customer may have in relation to the purchase of the product.
  • Remark: Complaints against products damaged in transport are governed by the carrier’s complaints procedure.
