Product description

Intended use
  • The Nedis HPRF021BK is a wireless audio amplification system designed for people with hearing difficulties.
  • It connects with different kinds of audio systems, such as a TV set, smartphone, DVD player, CD player, Hi-Fi system etc.
  • The transmitter also functions as the charger for the headphones.
  • Multiple receivers can be paired with one transmitter.
  • This product can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the product in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the product. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be done by children without supervision.
  • Any modification of the product may have consequences for safety, warranty and proper functioning.

  • The product is delivered with a partially charged battery. For optimal battery life, fully charge the battery before first use.
  • Do not dismantle, open or shred secondary cells or batteries.
  • Do not expose cells or batteries to heat or fire. Avoid storage in direct sunlight.
  • Do not subject cells or batteries to mechanical shock.
  • In the event of a cell leaking, do not allow the liquid to come in contact with the skin or eyes. If contact has been made, wash the affected area with copious amounts of water and seek medical advice.
  • To prevent possible hearing damage, do not listen at high volume levels for long periods.
  • Using headphones with both ears covered while participating in traffic is discouraged and may be illegal in some areas .
  • Some wireless products may interfere with implantable medical devices and other medical equipment, such as pacemakers, cochlear implants and hearing aids. Consult the manufacturer of your medical equipment for more information.
  • Do not use the product at locations where the use of wireless devices is prohibited due to potential interference with other electronic devices, which may cause safety hazards.
  • This product is equipped with a non-removable internal battery. Do not attempt to replace the battery yourself.
  • Charge the battery for at least 3 hours when you use it for the first time.
  • Do not use any charger other than that specifcally provided for use with the product.
  • The charger must only be plugged into an earthed socket-outlet.
  • During charging, the battery must be placed in a well-ventilated area.
  • Do not leave a battery on prolonged charge when not in use.
  • Only power the product with the voltage corresponding to the markings on the product.
  • Children of less than 8 years should be kept away.
  • Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be done by children without supervision.
  • This product is not a toy. Never allow children or pets to play with this product.

Installation

  • Check the contents of the package
  • Check that all parts are present and that no damage is visible on the parts. If parts are missing or damaged, contact the Nedis B.V. service desk via the website: www.nedis.com.
Charging the headphones
  • Charge the battery for at least 3 hours when you use it for the first time.

1. Slide the on / off switch A5 to the  OFF position to switch off the product.

2. Place the headphones A1 with the charging contacts A7 onto the charging pins A9.

  • The charging indicator LED Aw lights up red to indicate that the headphones are charging, and turns green when the battery is fully charged.
Connecting the transmitter

1. Plug the power adapter Ay into the power input A18.

2. Plug the other end of Ay into a power outlet.

3. Choose one of the three options to connect the transmitter.

3.5 mm audio cable

a. Plug the audio cable A12 into the audio port A21.

b. Plug the other end of A12 into your audio source device (e.g. TV or Hi-Fi system).

3.5 mm audio cable + RCA adapter cable

a. Plug A12 into A21.

b. Plug the other end of A12 into the RCA adapter cable (female) A13.

c. Plug the other end of A13 into your audio source device (e.g. TV or Hi-Fi system).

Optical audio cable

a. Plug the optical audio cable At into the optical audio input A19.

b. Plug the other end of A14 into your audio source device (e.g. TV or Hi-Fi system).

4. Slide A5 to the  ON  position to switch on the product.

  • If there is no audio signal from the audio source, or if the signal is too weak for proper reception, the transmitter turns off automatically after about 5 minutes. As soon as the audio signal returns, the transmitter turns back on automatically.
Pairing an additional headset
  • You can listen to the same audio source device with more people by connecting multiple headphones to a single transmitter.
  • Follow these instructions to pair additional headphones to A8.

1. Unplug A15 from the power outlet.

2. Slide A5 to the  ON position to switch on the additional headphones.

3. Press and hold the mute button A4 for 5 seconds.

  • The indicator LED A3 blinks quickly to indicate pairing mode is active.

4. Plug A15 into the power outlet.

  • A3 lights up continuously to indicate pairing is successful.

Use

Using the product

1. Switch on the audio source that is connected to the transmitter.

  • The power indicator LED A10 lights up green.

2. Slide A5 to the  ON  position to switch on the product.

  • A3 lights up red.
  • Rotate the volume wheel A2 to adjust the volume to the desired sound level.
  • Rotate the sound balance switch Ai to adjust the volume balance between the left and the right earbud.
Switching between modes
  • Follow these instructions to switch between listening mode and conversation mode without taking off the headphones.

1. Press the mute button A4 to switch to ambient sound mode.

  • Sounds and voices picked up by the microphone are amplified through the headphones.

2. Press A4 again to switch back to your audio source device.

  • A3 starts blinking when the product has around 20 minutes of battery life left.

Maintenance

  •  Clean the product regularly with a soft, clean, dry cloth. Avoid abrasives that can damage the surface.
  • Do not use aggressive chemical cleaning agents such as ammonia, acid or acetone when cleaning the product.

Warranty

 Any changes and/or modifications to the product will void the warranty. We accept no liability for damage caused by improper use of the product.

This product is designed for private use (normal domestic use) only. Nedis is not responsible for wear, defect and/or damages caused by commercial use of the product.
