DESCRIPTION OF THE APPLIANCE (Fig. 1)

ETA-0151-Electric-toaster-fig-1

PREPARATION FOR USE

Remove all the packing material and take out the toaster. Remove all possible adhesion foils, stick-on labels or paper from the toaster. Before the first use, clean all parts of the appliance that will be in contact with food with a soft wet cloth.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Place the toaster on a flat and dry surface (e. g. kitchen table) at least 85 cm high, out of reach of children. Plug the power cord connector A6 to an electric socket. A red signaling light A2 will come on, signaling connection to electric power supply. The plates will start to heat. When the operating temperature is reached, the green signaling light A2 will come on. When the appliance is used for the first time, short and slight smoke may occur which does not mean any defect. Open the lock A4 and lift off lid A1 using the handle A3. Put the prepared food on the bottom plate A5, close the lid and secure it with the lock A4. Do not close the lid by excessive force! During preparation of food, the green signaling light will come on and off which means that the thermostat keeps the proper temperature. When the preparation is complete, open the lid and remove the food (using e.g. a wooden spatula). Do not use sharp metal tools to take the food out. Never cut the prepared food on the plates!

Important notices

  • A short slight smoke may appear during the first use; it is not a defect and reason for sales return.
  • Always let the plates heat up to the operating temperature before putting food in.
  • Leave the cover down when heating up the boards.
  • Do not touch the plates as they are HOT! Be especially careful and prevent children and incapable persons from touching the plates!
  • Use handle A3 when transferring the appliance.
  • Never place tinfoil or any other material or objects between the boards and the heating body.
  • Never place a cool board on the hot heating body.
  • Do not leave the appliance on when it is empty.
  • Never cut the prepared food on the plates!
  • Domestic animals (such as exotic birds) may be sensitive to aroma/smell, steam, and smoke created during the preparation of food. Therefore, we recommend preparing food in another room.

The following tips for processing are examples and for your inspiration. The time of preparing food is in minutes (about 3 – 5 minutes). You can adjust the preparation time to your taste; the longer the preparation takes, the crispier the food will be.

  • For better taste and smell, spread the outer sides of the sandwich (e.g. with butter, margarine, and fat).
  • A teaspoon of sugar sprinkled on the outer side of a sandwich will make the sandwich crispier (suitable for sandwiches with fruit filling).
  • For soft or liquid fillings, use medium-size bread slices (white/dark). When there is not much filling, use the toasted bread.

MAINTENANCE

Unplug the appliance from power supply by taking the plug of the power cord out of the socket! Clean the toaster only when it has cooled down! Clean the appliance regularly after each use. Do not use rough and aggressive detergents (e.g. sharp objects, peelers, caustic agents for cleaning ovens, or other solvents ). For cleaning the cover, use detergents for cleaning plastic surfaces. Clean the surface by wiping it with a soft and wet cloth.

Storage

Make sure that the boards have cooled down before you put them away. Store the appliance in a safe and dry place, out of the reach of children and minors.
