PRODUCT INSTALLATION

POSITION THE ACCESS POINT
Place the access point in an open area of your intended work area for better wireless coverage. If you use it as a repeater, make sure that the access point is within the wireless range of the network you want to repeat. -
TURN ON THE POWER
Plug the supplied power adapter into the back of the DAP-1665 and plug it into a power outlet. Press the power switch on the back of the access point to turn on the power. Guard approximately 30 seconds until the device completes the startup processes. -
CONNECTION OF THE DAP-1665
Using the included Ethernet cable, plug one end into the LAN port on the back of the DAP-1665, and plug the other end into the Ethernet port on your computer. Or you can connect with the DAP-1665 over Wi-Fi. Go to the WiFi settings of your computer. Select the network name (SSID) printed on the supplied Wi-Fi configuration note (e.g. dlink-A8FA), enter then enter the Wi- Fi password that is also on the Wi-Fi configuration note (eg akbdj19368).

De standaard gebruikersnaam is Admin , en het wachtwoord moet leeg blijven. Klik op Log In om verder te gaan. Na het inloggen klikt u op Lanceer draadloze installatiewizard om het installatieproces te starten. Raadpleeg de meegeleverde gebruikershandleiding voor meer informatie over het configureren van uw toegangspunt.

TROUBLESHOOTING
INSTALLATION AND CONFIGURATION PROBLEMS
WHY CAN’T I ACCESS THE WEB-BASED CONFIGURATION PROGRAM?
- Check the physical connection between your computer and the access point. The LAN LED on the access point should be lit to indicate that a connection exists. You should also Make sure your computer’s Ethernet port is enabled and functioning properly.
- If you use Wi-Fi to connect to the access point, make sure that you are connecting to the correct wireless network and that there are no are connection problems. If you still cannot connect to the configuration utility, try to connect to the access point using the supplied Ethernet cable.
HOW DO I RESET MY DAP-1665 AP TO FACTORY DEFAULTS?
- Check if the access point is turned on.
- Press and hold the reset button on the back of the device for 5 seconds. Note: When you reset the AP to the factory default, the current configuration settings will be cleared. You must repeat the installation process as described in the above installation guide to reconfigure your access point.
HOW DO I ADD A NEW WIRELESS CLIENT OR PC IF I FORGOTTEN WIRELESS NETWORK NAME (SSID) OR WIRELESS CODE?
- If you have not yet changed your Wi-Fi settings from the factory defaults, you can use the use information as provided on the Wi-Fi configuration card to establish a connection with the access point.
- If you have changed your Wi-Fi settings, please use the web-based configuration utility open as described on the previous page and run the installation wizard again to refresh your wireless settings.
- Make a note of these settings so that you can enter them later in any wirelessly connected device.
