DESCRIPTION OF THE APPLIANCE (pic. 1)

  1. grill
    • grill base
    • grilling surface
    • dripping bowl
    • supply cord
  2. socket thermostat
    • temperature regulator
    • temperature setting indicator

PREPARATION AND USE

Remove all packaging materials and take out the grill with its accessories. Remove all adhesive foils, stickers or paper from the grill. After the first putting into operation, set the maximum temperature of 230 °C and let an grill in operation with a window open for about 10 minutes, then turn it off and let it cool down. Short mild emission of smoke is not a defect and is no reason for complaint. After it has cooled down clean the parts that will come in contact with food using hot water with detergent, thoroughly rinse with clean water and wipe dry, if necessary allow to dry (see paragraph V. MAINTENANCE).

Assembling the grill
The grill does not include any special parts, which need to be assembled before use. Insert only the dripping bowl A3 and socket thermostat B into the base of grill A1 before use (see pic. 1).

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Place the grill on a dry and even surface (e.g. kitchen table) at a height of at least 85 cm, out of the reach of children. Insert the power plug A4 into the power socket and check that it does not lead under the grill. Set the control dial B1 to the 230 position. The indicator light B2 will turn on. Allow the grill to heat up for approximately 10 minutes without placing any food on it. Working temperature is achieved when the indicator light B2 turns off. Place the food on grilling surface A2. Turn off the grill by turning the temperature control dial B1 to position MIN (and unplug supply cord from el. socket) a few minutes before finishing grilling because the hotplate is sufficiently hot to complete the grilling of the food.

Note

  • When the temperature is changed using the control dial B1 during the course of grilling it will take approx. 5 to 10 minutes for the hotplate to achieve the set temperature.
  • While heating the thermostat may cycle (the indicator light turns on and off). This is not considered to be a defect.

Important notice

  • Always allow the hotplates to heat up to working temperature before placing food on them.
  • Do not touch the metal parts of the grill or the hotplate A2 during grilling, because these parts are HOT! Pay special care to ensure that children do not touch the hotplate!
  • Never place frozen or heavy foods on a hotplate.
  • Do not leave an empty grill turned on for longer than 30 minutes.
  • Never cut food that is being prepared on the grilling surface!
  • Household pets (e.g. exotic birds) may have sensitive reactions to smells/odours, steam and smoke created while food is being cooked. For this reason we recommend that food is cooked in a different room.

All recommended cooking times for foods recommended in expert literature (cookbooks) assume that meat has the temperature as when taken from the refrigerator. Cooking frozen meat may take significantly longer. Consider the following cooking tips as examples and inspiration, the purpose of which is not to provide instructions but to show various ways of cooking food. Cooking (processing) times for foods are only approximations and are in the range of minutes. The cooking time will change depending on the temperature of the grill, the surrounding area and the type of food being cooked. You may adjust the cooking time depending on your preference, the longer the food is cooked the more well done it will be, crunchier.
Carefully monitor the food while cooking on the grill and adjust the cooking time as you see necessary. Turning the food over more regularly will achieve more even cooking. Before grilling vegetables, fish or lean meat, we recommend that you grease the hotplate with vegetable oil or spray it with a special spray that prevents foods from sticking. When cooking meat containing fat or foods that have been marinated it is not necessary to treat the hotplate in this way. Use only fresh foods (not frozen). Remove sinew and fat from the meat. Remove bones from fish. Cut the food you wish to grill into small thin slices. If you will be cooking various types of food after each other (e.g. meat, fish, fruit), we recommend that you clean the remains from the hotplate between the individual stages using wooden tongs or spatula. Do not clean the hotplate with water when hot!

You may use the following table as a guide for determining the approximate grilling time:

MAINTENANCE

Before carrying out any maintenance disconnect the appliance from the power grid by pulling out the plug on the power cord from the el. socket! Only clean the grill once it has cooled down! Clean regularly after every use by wiping with a soft damp cloth! Do not use abrasive or aggressive cleaning agents (e.g. sharp objects, caustic pipe cleaning agents etc.). Also do not use any pressure cleaning equipment (e.g. dishwasher, pressure or steam cleaner)! After each use, remove all residues of fat or food stuck on the grilling surface A2, in the dripping bowl A3 and the grill base A1. It is normal for the colour of surfaces to change over time. This change in no way changes the properties of the surface and is not a reason for complaint about the appliance!
Note
Complete disassembly is not necessary for common cleaning. Common disassembly consists only of removing the socket thermostat B and sliding out the dripping bowl A3. When in common use, fat can get into the spaces between the grilling surface A2 and plastic feet with holders, which are included with the grill A1. If this happens, complete disassembly by removing the 10 screws from the bottom part is necessary for thorough cleaning. Proceed reversely when assembling it.

Storage
Before storing make sure that the grill is cool. Store the grill in a safe and dry location that is out of reach of children and incapacitated persons.
