SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

In order to reduce the risk of injuries or damages, follow basic safety precautions applied when using any electrical device, including the following:

  1. Read the entire instruction manual before you start installation and assembly and keep it for future reference.
  2. Before connecting the device to the power supply socket, make sure the voltage indicated on the device corresponds to the voltage in the power supply socket.
  3. Place the device on a flat, stable, and heat-resistant surface.
  4. Protect this device from shock and being dropped.
  5. Clean this device in accordance with the instructions listed in the Cleaning and Maintenance section.
  6. ALWAYS turn off the device and disconnect it from the mains supply:
    • if it’s not operating correctly
    • if there’s an uncommon voice when using
    • before disassembling the device
    • before cleaning
    • when not in use
  7. When you disconnect the power cord of the device, grasp and pull the plug, not the cord/cable.
  8. This appliance may be used by children who are above 8 years old and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, if they are supervised and guided by a person who is responsible for their safety in a cautious manner for all the safety precautions being understood and followed. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. Children should not perform cleaning and servicing of the device unsupervised.
  9. Keep the device out of the reach of children. Do not leave children unsupervised with the product.
  10. Fixed power cable may only be replaced at an authorized service point.
  11. Keep the device and power cable away from heat, water, moisture, sharp edges and any other factor which may damage the appliance or its cord. Keep the cord away from the heating plate!
  12. Do not place the appliance in water or any liquid; nor handle/use it with wet or moist hands.
  13. Do not use the product for purposes different from those displayed in this operating manual.
  14. Do not use unauthorized accessories.
  15. Appliance for household use only. Do not use it for commercial or industrial purposes. Device for indoor use only.
  16. DO NOT use this device if the power cable is damaged or the appliance is broken.
  17. Do not attempt to repair this device yourself. Only authorized and qualified personnel may repair this device. The device has no user-serviceable parts inside.
  18. The danger of burning! Do not touch any part of the device while operating (except for the thermostat knobs) and after turning it off before it cools down completely! The device cools down slower than it heats up.
  19. Do not move the device during operation nor immediately after use, allow it to cool down first.
  20. Locate the appliance in a place with sufficient air circulation to prevent overheating. Do not block the ventilation outlets of the device.
  21. Do not leave the appliance unattended when it’s working!
  22. The producer of this product is not responsible for damages caused by inappropriate handling and use of the device.
  23. Do not place empty pots on the switched-on plate.
  24. Pay attention not to spill liquid (water, milk, etc.) on the plate as it may damage the device.
  25. Do not use this appliance as a worktop or countertop for storage.
  26. Never store this device near flammables or fusible products.
  27.  Do not place metal objects (knife, spoons, etc.) on the plate as they will get hot – the risk of burns.
  28. In order to avoid a hazard due to inadvertent resetting of the thermal cutout, this appliance must not be supplied through an external switching device, such as a timer, or connected to a circuit that is regularly switched on and off by the utility.

OPERATION

  1. Before first use peel off any labels and remove tapes, foil packaging, etc.

  2. Make sure to place the appliance on a flat, dry, and heat-resistant surface.

  3. Turn the temperature knob to the “off” position.

  4. Plug the power cable into the power supply socket. And put the pot on the plate. Note: do not turn on the plate with no pot placed on the plate.

  5. Switch on the temperature knob to the desired setting (between MIN and MAX). The indication light will go on which signalizes heating up to set temperature. When the indicator light goes off, the plate has reached the set temperature. The thermostat cycles on and off to maintain the set temperature.
    WARNING: The appliance will be very hot. DO NOT touch the appliance while in use or it has not cooled down completely.

  6. Turn the knob off and unplug the appliance when not in use and let it cool down before storing or moving.

IMPORTANT:
It is advised not to use the product for longer than 1 hour at a time. After 1 hour of operation, unplug it from the power mains and allow it to cool down.

NOTES

  • Always use flat bottom saucepans or pots that make close contact with the heating plate.
  • Avoid dropping any liquid on the plate for long-life performance.
  • At first use, the appliance may release an odor and slight smoke. This is a normal reaction caused by the initial heating of the plate.
  • Exercise caution during operation – the risk of burning!

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

  • Before each cleaning, disconnect the device from the power supply and make sure it’s completely cooled down.
  • For cleaning, use a soft cloth moistened with water or a paper towel.
  • To clean stubborn food residue stains, use a cloth soaked in soapy water.
  • After cleaning, dry the device thoroughly.
  • Never immerse the appliance, cord, or plug in water or other liquids.
  • Do not use an abrasive cleaning agent. Never use metal, sharp, or coarse cleaning utensils as they can damage the plates.
