GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Before using the unit, be sure to read all operating instructions carefully. Please note that these are general precautions and may not pertain to your unit. For example, this unit may not have the capability to be connected to an outdoor antenna.

- Do not use this apparatus near water The appliance should not be used near water; for example, near a bath tub, washbowl, kitchen sink, laundry tub, in a wet basement, or near a swimming pool.
- Clean only with dry cloth The appliance should be cleaned only as recommended by the manufacturer.

PLACEMENT AND MOUNTING
Placing the device on table – Ventilation
When placing the Sound Bar on an entertainment center, bookshelf, or any type
of enclosed space, be sure to allow at least 2-3 inches of space around the
Sound Bar for ventilation. If the Sound Bar is enclosed in a tight space,
without ventilation, heat generated from the Sound Bar could produce a
potential heat hazard.
Mounting to a wall

Mounting to a wooden wall
A. Mark the position of the mounting screws on the wall using a pencil.
B. Drill the supplied screws directly into the marks that you have made on the wall and leave approx. 0.3 inch length to hook the sound bar.
C. Put the sound bar onto the mounting screws. Make sure they are firm and stable. -
Mounting to a brick wall
A. Mark the position of the mounting screws on the wall using a pencil.
B. Drill 2 holes on wall with a powerful electric drill.
C. Insert the supplied fixing plug and hammer into the holes.
D. Secure the supplied screws into the fixing plugs and leave approx. 0.3 inch length to hook the sound bar.
E. Put the sound bar onto the mounting screws. Make sure they are firm and stable.

Before Using the Remote Control:
Remove the plastic tab as picture on the right.>>> -
To Replace battery
1. Push and slide out the battery holder.
2. Replace the battery with a new CR2025 button cell as the polarity marking facing upward.
3. Close the battery door.
Battery precautions
Follow these precautions when using a battery in this device:
- Use only the size and type of battery specified.
- Be sure to follow the correct polarity when installing the battery as indicated in the battery compartment. A reversed battery may cause damage to the device.
- Do not mix different types of batteries together (e.g. Alkaline and Carbon-zinc) or old batteries with fresh ones.
- If the batteries in the device are consumed or device is not to be used for a long period of time, remove the batteries to prevent damage or injury from possible battery leakage.
- Do not try to recharge the battery not intended to be recharged; it can overheat and rupture. (Follow battery manufacturer’s instructions.)
- The batteries shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like.
- Clean the battery contacts and also those of the device prior to battery installation.
- Warning: Do not ingest battery, Chemical Burn Hazard.
This product contains a coin/button cell battery. If the coin/button cell battery is swallowed, it can cause severe internal burn in just 2 hours and can lead to death. Keep new and used batteries away from children. If the battery compartment does not close securely, stop using the product and keep it away from children. If you think batteries might have been swallowed or placed inside any part of the body, seek immediate medical attention.
GENERAL OPERATION
-
Connect the AC/DC adapter to the unit and wall outlet. The indicator will light up in red, which indicates the unit is powered on and enters the standby mode.

Press the Standby/Source button on the unit or the button on remote control to enter the play mode.
-
Press the Standby/Source button on the unit or the SOURCE button on the remote control repeatedly to switch to desired mode. The color of the indicator will turn to:

During Playback:
~ Press the VOL (Volume) + or – buttons on the unit or Remote Control to adjust volume level as desired.
~ Press the EQ button on the Remote Control repeatedly to select your desired EQ mode from MUSIC, TALK, MOVIE and STANDARD. Press and hold this button to return the default EQ mode (MUSIC).
~ Press the (Mute) button on the Remote Control to turn off the sound. Press again to resume. ~ Press the BASS +/- buttons on the Remote Control to adjust the sound level of bass.
~ Press the TREBLE +/- buttons on the Remote Control to adjust the sound level of treble.
When the (Mute) button is pressed, the indicator will turn to white and blink rapidly to imply that the unit has received the specified command and answer it with the corresponding action. Press it again; the unit will turn back to normal state. When any of the other buttons on the unit/remote control mentioned here is pressed, the indicator on the unit will blink once and the unit will answer the command with the corresponding action. -
When finished listening, press and hold the Standby/Source button on the unit or press the button on the Remote Control to power OFF the unit and put in standby mode.
FM RADIO OPERATION
Before listening to the radio, please unwind and extend FM antenna or relocate the unit to get better reception.
- Power on the unit and enter the play mode as previously explained.
- Press the Standby/Source button on the unit or the SOURCE button on the remote control repeatedly until the indicator turns Green.
- Press and hold the VOL+ or VOL-/REC. button on the unit, or press the /TUNE+ or /TUNE- button on the remote control. When the indicator blinks, release the button. The unit will start to search for radio stations. Once a station is located, the unit will stop searching and start to play it. If you want another one, repeat the operation to start a new search.
- Press and hold the FM Scan button on the unit or the on the remote control. When the indicator start to blink rapidly, release the button. Now the unit starts searching available bands and stores them automatically.
After searching and storing finished, press repeatedly the FM Scan button on the unit or the button on the remote control to choose the desired station.
BLUETOOTH PAIRING AND CONNECTION
For first time use or re-pairing, pair the unit to an external Bluetooth (BT) device as follows:
- Power on the unit and enter the play mode as previously explained.
- Press the Standby/Source button on the unit or press the SOURCE button on the Remote Control repeatedly until the color of the Indicator turns to Blue.
- Power on the external BT Device and select Bluetooth to enter into search mode. When SYLVANIA SB3713 appears from your devices list, click it to start pairing. After paired, the Blue Indicator will stop blinking. If the passcode doesn’t appear, see the instructions of the external BT device.
- If you want to connect another BT device while playing, press “PAIR” Button on remote control to disconnect this pairing, then connect another BT device following above steps.
NOTE:
- When the external BT Device searches the unit, The code “SYLVANIA SB3713” will appear on the display of the external BT device.
- If the BT device asks for a password, input pairing code “0000” to confirm it to connect to “SYLVANIA SB3713”.
Normal operation after paired:
- Power on the unit and select the playback source to BT as previously explained.
- Turn on the BT function of the external BT Device.
- Touch SYLVANIA SB3713 and wait a few seconds until the unit pairs to the external BT device automatically. The Blue indicator will stop blinking.
- Play the music in the connected BT Device as usual.
- During playback:
~ Press the /TUNE + or /TUNE – button to skip the tracks.
~ Press the button or the FM Scan button on the unit on the remote control to pause.
Press again to resume normal playback.
AUX 1: LISTEN TO TV/DVD/VCR/DVR
An external Video/Audio player (such as TV, DVD player, VCR, etc.) can be connected to this unit and heard through the speakers.

Plug one side of RCA White and Red cable into the AUX 1 jacks on the rear of the unit.

Plug the other side of cable into Audio Out R & L jacks of the TV or external device as the illustration below.
NOTE: Make sure to connect to AUDIO OUT. If you connect it into AUDIO IN of external device, you will not hear the sound. -
Power on the unit and enter the play mode as previously explained.

Press the Standby/Source button on the unit or press the SOURCE button on the Remote Control repeatedly until the color of Indicator turns to Orange.
-
Power on the connected external player and start playback as usual.
OPTICAL DIGITAL AUDIO IN
-
Connect the Optical out jack from the external audio Player (including TV, DVD Player BD Player, etc.) to the OPTICAL IN jack on the back of unit by the Optical Connection Cable (not supplied) as the figure below: (For PCM format only)

Power on the unit and enter the play mode as previous explained
-
Press the Standby/Source button on the unit or press the SOURCE button on the Remote Control repeatedly until the Indicator turns to Indigo.
-
Power on the connected external player and start to play music as usual. Turn on the digital audio output and set it to PCM (Pulse Code Modulation) type as below:
AUX 2: LISTEN TO EXTERNAL AUDIO DEVICE
An external (Auxiliary) audio source (i.e., personal CD player or MP3 player) can be connected to this unit and heard through the speakers.

Plug one side of the Aux In cable into the AUX 2 jack on the rear of the unit.

Plug the other end of the Aux In cable into the socket of the external audio source.
-
Power on the unit and enter the mode as previously explained.
-
Press the Standby/Source button on the unit or press the SOURCE button on the Remote Control repeatedly until the color of Indicator turns to Violet.
-
Power on the connected external player and start playback as usual.
USB OPERATION

Insert the USB device to the USB Player port on the unit.
-
Power on the unit and enter the mode as previously explained..
-
Press the Standby/Source button on the unit or press SOURCE button on the remote control repeatedly until the color of Indicator turns to WHITE.
-
During the playback, you can press the button or the button on the remote control (or press and hold the Vol- or Vol+/REC. button on the unit) to play the next or the previous recorded track. Press the button on the remote control or the FM Scan button on the unit to pause or play again.
NOTE:
• The recorded tracks will be played first, then the music stored in the USB device.
RECORDING OPERATION
This unit has Recording function. Please insert a USB device first when using this function.
- Power on the unit and enter the mode as previously explained.
- Press the Standby/Source button on the unit or press SOURCE button on the remote control repeatedly to switch to desired mode.
- When in playback, press and hold the Vol+/REC button on the unit or the Vol+ button on the remote control until you hear a prompt tone, which indicates the recording process starts.
- To stop recording, press and hold the Vol+/REC button on the unit or the Vol+ button on the remote again. When hearing two beep tones, release the button.
NOTE:
- The recorded tracks will be stored in USB device automatically.
- To play the record tracks, press the Standby/Source button on the unit or press SOURCE button on the remote control repeatedly to switch to USB mode. It will start to play automatically.
- During the playback, you can press the button or the button on the remote control to play the next or the previous recorded track, or the button to pause or play again.
- The recording function only works in BT, AUX and Line in mode.

pressing the VOL (Volume ) – button.
Reduce the volume level of the
paired/connected device.
Remote Control not working| The battery is weak| Replace with new battery.
Bluetooth reception failure| The external device is too far from the unit| Put
the external BT device close to the unit.
Have not paired| Pair the unit with the BT Device as the procedures stated in
this manual.

90 day Year Warranty
This product is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship
for a period of ninety (90) days from the date of original purchase. During
this period, your exclusive remedy is repair or replacement of this product or
component found to be defective, at our option; however, you are responsible
for all costs associated with returning the product to us. If the product or
component is no longer available, we will replace with a similar one of equal
or greater value. Prior to a replacement being sent, the product must be
rendered inoperable or returned to us.
This warranty does not cover glass, filters, wear from normal use, use not in
conformity with the printed directions., or damage to the product resulting
from accident, alteration, abuse, or misuse. This warranty extends only to the
