2. Camera First Use

2.1 Inserting a Memory Card (not included)
A memory card can be used to store recorded activity for future playback on the app. You do not need a memory card if you purchase a cloud subscription on the Tuya app. When the battery is low, media stored on the memory card will not be erased. To insert a MicroSD memory card follow the steps below:

  1. Open the rubber door on the side of the camera.

  2. Insert the memory card. Ensure that the metal contacts are inserted first.
Push the memory card in until you hear an audible click.
Note: the memory card can only be inserted in one way. Do not force the card in if it will not go in smoothly.

  3. Replace the rubber door to ensure weather resistance.

  4. To remove the memory card, simply push in and the card will eject back out.

NOTE:

  • Please format the memory card before using the camera
(Caution: This will erase all data on the card).

  • Do not remove or insert the memory card when recording. It may damage the card or cause data loss.

  • Memory card rating must be Class 10 or above, from compatible high quality brands.

2.2 Charging the Battery

  1. Open the rubber door on the side of the camera.
  2. Insert the small end of the included USB cable into the camera s port under the rubber door and the larger end in to a USB/AC adaptor (not included).
  3. Charge the batteries fully before use.
  4. The batteries can also be charged by placing the camera in direct sunlight.

Note: If the camera captures an excessive number of events every day the battery life will be reduced. Checking the live view or talking through the camera will also reduce the battery life. To reduce the number of events recorded each day, reduce the sensitivity level of the motion sensor.

2.3 IR Night Vision Mode
The camera has built-in infrared (IR) LEDs for night vision recording – giving you the ability to capture videos in a dark environment.

The infrared LEDs automatically activate when the level of ambient light is low.

Note:
The videos recorded while the IR LEDs are enabled will be recorded in black and white.

3.2 Mounting the Device
Your device can be mounted securely to the outside of your home. Follow the steps below to mount your device:

  1. Before mounting your device, make sure that the camera will be in direct sunlight at the location you choose. If the solar panel is not in direct sunlight, the solar panels will not charge the batteries adequately.
  2. Check the live view from the app to pick your desired camera capture location and lens aim. Using the mounting template, mark the two holes where the screws will go.
  3. If you’re installing your camera on stucco, brick or concrete, use a 5/16″ masonry drill bit to drill holes in your wall at the marked locations. Insert the included anchors into the hole. If you’re installing the camera on wood, skip this step.
  4. Position the mounting bracket with the nut built into it, with the larger hole facing you, in front of the left mark or anchor. Insert the screw through the mounting bracket hole.
  5. Using a Philips head screwdriver, drive the screw into your wall (or into the anchor, if installed) until the mounting bracket is secure.
  6. Repeat the previous two steps with the remaining mounting bracket and right mark or anchor.
  7. Next, position the camera so that the mounting brackets align with the mounting holes on the camera, then hang the camera on the mounting brackets.
  8. Insert the security screw into the hole on top of the camera, over the left mounting hole and mounting bracket.
  9. Using the included Allen wrench, tighten the security screw until it is tight. This will secure the camera to the surface it’s mounted to.
  10. To remove the camera from the wall, the security screw needs to be removed first.
