  • If you have any problem or doubt, about your security we recommend you to contact a professional.
  • Instructions must be followed for the safe use of factory-activated and Sealed Maintenance batteries.
  • Wear eye protection.
  • Keep children away from acid and batteries.

Explosion hazard:

  • A highly explosive oxyhydrogen gas mixture occurs when charging batteries.
  • Fire, sparks, naked lights and smoking are prohibited:
  • Avoid causing sparks when dealing with cables and electrical equipment and beware of electrostatic discharges.
  • Avoid short-circuits.

Corrosive hazard:

  • Battery acid is highly corrosive
  • Wear protective gloves and eye protection.

First aid:

  • EYES > Immediately hold your eyes open and rinse immediately with plain water for at least 15 minutes. Consult a doctor without delay.
  • SKIN > Quickly, but gently, wipe acid from the skin. Remove any contaminated clothing or footwear and thoroughly wash the affected area with soap and water for at least 15 minutes. Consult a doctor without delay.
  • SWALLOWED > Do not induce vomiting. Rinse out mouth with water, and if conscious, induce copious drinking of water or milk. Consult a doctor without delay.

  • Never dispose of old batteries in a domestic waste bin.

HOW TO ADD THE ELECTROLYTE

PRECAUTIONS

  • Always remove the battery from the vehicle.
  • Make sure the electrolyte is as specified for your battery.

A. PREPARING THE ELECTROLYTE

  • Let the battery stand on a level surface.
  • Remove the sealing sheet.

B. PREPARING THE ELECTROLYTE

  • Take the electrolyte container out of the vinyl bag. Detach the strip cap plug from the container, which will be used as the battery plug later.
  • Note: Do not peel or pierce the sealed areas.

C. PROCEDURE FOR FILLING BATTERY WITH ACID

  • Place the electrolyte container upside down with the 6 sealed
  • areas in line with the 6 filler ports of the battery.
  • Push the container down strongly enough to break the seals.
  • Air bubbles should come up from ports.
  • Note: Do not tilt the container as the electrolyte flow may be interrupted.

D. CHECKING THE ELECTROLYTE FLOW

  • Make sure air bubbles are coming up as stated in step 3 above.
  • Leave the container in this state for 20 minutes or longer.
  • Note: If no air bubbles are coming up from the filler ports,
  • tap the bottom of the container two or three times.
  • Never remove the container from the battery.
  • Never cut the joints with nippers or the like.

E. PULLING OUT THE CONTAINER

  • Be certain that all the electrolytes has flowed out. Tap the bottom in the same way as step 4 if there is any electrolyte left in the container. Now pull the container gently out of the battery.

F. SEALING THE BATTERY

  • Fit the strip cap plug tightly into the filler ports.
  • Make sure the strip is at the same level as the top of the battery.
  • The fill-up is now complete.
  • Never remove the caps, and don’t add any water or electrolytes.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • (A) This battery is fully charged and sealed before first use, integrating a venting valve. It contains non-floating electrolytes and any gas produced during use is fully absorbed within the battery, ensuring that this battery is maintenance-free.
  • (B) As this battery was activated before installation, the battery must stand upright for a minimum of 60 minutes before installation on the vehicle. This allows the electrolyte to permeate into internal materials.
  • (C) Under no circumstances should the Sealing Plug be removed.
  • (D) The Venting Valve Opening must not be obstructed.

FITTING

  • (A) To optimize the life and power of your battery, an initial charge is highly recommended. (refer to ’’Charging’’ section)
  • (B) Always fit under the vehicle manufacturer’s directions.
  • (C) Positive and Negative terminals must be connected to their correct terminals.

CHARGING

  • (A) Never exceed a charging current greater than 50% of the battery capacity. Charging too quickly or overcharging can cause damage.
  • (B) If the battery becomes hot to the touch, stop the charging and allow it to cool down before recharging.
  • (C) Always remove the battery from the vehicle before charging.
  • (D) Charge the battery with a Motorcycle battery charger that suits this size/type of battery with an output current of 1/10th of the battery’s rated capacity.
  • (E) Let the battery settle for 1 or 2 hours after charging and before checking the voltage. If the voltage is less than 12.8 volts, an additional charge is necessary.

MAINTENANCE

  • (A) As this battery is fully sealed and activated at the factory, there is no maintenance by way of topping up fluid levels. This is the reason why one must never attempt to open this battery.
  • (B) If this battery has not been used for a quite long time, check the voltage and recharge as required and described in the ’’Charging’’ section.
  • (C) As some fitted equipment draws current even when the vehicle is not being used, the battery may require a charge even after a relatively short period of inactivity.
  • (D) Keep the connecting poles clean and securely fastened.
