WARNING
Please read the instructions carefully before using the batery.
Thebrand could not be held responsible forthe consequences of improper installation and/or misuseof the battery inside yourvehicle. f you have any problemor doubt, for your security we recommend youto contactaprofessional.
Instructions must be followed for a safe use of Factory Activated and Sealed Maintenance Free batteries
Wear eye protection.
Keep chidren away from acid and batteries.
Explosion hazard:
– Rhighly-explosive oxyhydrogen gas mixture occurs when charging batteries.
Fite, sparks, naked lights and smoking are prohibited:
– Avoid causing sparks when dealing with cables and electrical equipment and beware o electiostatic discharges.
– Avoid short-circuts.
Corrosive hazard:
Battery acid s highly corrosive
– Wear protective gloves and eye protection.
Firstaid :
– EVES > Immediately hold eyes open and rinse immediately with plain water for atleast 15 minutes. Consult a doctor without dely.
– SKIN > Quickly, but gently, wipe acid from skin. Remove any contaminated clothing of footwear and thoroughly ‘wash the affected area with soap and water for at least 15 minutes. Consult adoctor without delay.
– SWALLOWED > Do ot induce vomiting. Rinse out mouth with water, andif conscious, induce copious drinking of water or mik. Consault adoctor withoutdelay.
Wamingnote:
– Donot expose batteries in direct daylight without protection.
– Discharged batteries can freeze, therefore it must be stored in an area free from frost.
Disposal:
Take o batteries to a proper collection point.
– The instructions listed under part 1 must be followed during transportation
– Never dispose old batteries ina domestic waste in.

PREGAUTION BEFORE INSTALLATION I

PREPARATION FOR FILLING
If your battery is equipped with, take of sealing and remove vent plugs only right before filling with the electralyte. If your battery is equipped with a long exhaust tube, cut off ts sealed end at about 3cm (Tinch) from the lp. Ifyour battery has a short sealing tube, and is supplied with a separate long tube, pull off the short one and replace with the long one. Cut the new tube at the same length of the old one.
FILLING WITH ELECTROLYTE
Fill the battery with electrolyte (ilute sulphuric acid) with a density of ,280.
Fill to the “upper level as ndicated on the battery.
The electrolyte temperature should not be more than 30°C (86°F) when flling Leave the battery standing for half an hour after filling
Electrolyte level may fall during standing. Refill again o the “upper level”.
FIRST CHARGE
In order to optimize the ife and power of your battery, an inital charge is highly recommended
Charge the battery with aMotorcycle battery charger that suits for this size/type of battery with an output current 1/10th
of the battery’s rated capacity.
Letthe battery settle for 1 or 2 hours after charging before checking the voltage.
Ifthe voltage isless than 12.8 volts, additional chargingis necessary.
Ifthe electrolyte leve s foun allen has dropped after charging, il with distiled water up to the “upper level”,
After charging replace the vents plugs fiy, wash off acid spillage with water, and dry the battery.

IINSTALLATION

Fasten the battery firmly tovehicle. Be sure not towrongly connect battery’s positive and negative terminals.
Do not fold or crimp the battery’s exhaust tube.
Itmay cause explosionif the tube is crimped

MAINTENANCE SERVIGE

Check electrolyte level once a month.
Add distiled water torestore the level
Never use electrolyte to restore the level
Keep the battery always clean.
Apply grease around the terminals to prevent corrosion.
Keep the exhaust tube free o fods and obstructions.
Recharging is necessary when you find out that the lights get dim, the horn get weak and/or when you keep the battery unused during more than one month
Charge the battery with an output current of 1/10th of the battery’s rated capacity.
Charge until the battery starts gassing freely and the specific gravity o electrolyte ises to higher than 1,270,
NOTE
Many batteries containa special chemical component that has been added to reduce sulfatecrystal deposits (which eventually prevents the battery from accepting a charge).
Itis awhite chemical powder that may be visible beforethe bttery s activated, bt tdissolves once the electrolyteis added.
After chargingthe battery, the specific gravity of electrolyte rises o 1,290 (at 20°C/86°F),
If the battery has not been used for a quite long time, extended recharging time required.
