- Within 20 – 30 seconds the blue LED on the back of the subwoofer will stop flashing and remain on indicating that the sub has successfully paired with the DOLBY BAR.
- The subwoofer will remember the DOLBY BAR and automatically pair it with it the next the time it is powered on.
- The subwoofer can be paired to other soundbars in the same series, but only one at a time. To pair to another soundbar, simply repeat steps 1 – 3.
SUBWOOFER SOFTWARE UPDATE
- Unzip the update file and place it on a USB drive.
- Unplug the subwoofer and insert the USB drive into the USB port on the back.
- Plug in the subwoofer and the software update will automatically commence. During this time the LED will solid red. When the LED is no longer red, the update is complete.
- Unplug the power cord, wait 30 seconds, then plug it back in to finalize the update.
Please note: If the subwoofer is turned on, but the DOLBY BAR is in standby mode or is disconnected from power, after 5 minutes the blue LED pairing indicator will become solid red. This indicates that the subwoofer has entered standby mode. To avoid sound quality issues caused by wireless signal interference, please keep the system an appropriate distance away from other 2.4Ghz wireless devices. The maximum connection range is 33 feet (10 meters).
BLUETOOTH PAIRING
- Power on the DOLBY BAR by connecting it to an AC power source. Press the Standby/ Input button on the side of the DOLBY BAR or the Input button on the remote control to select Bluetooth mode. The LCD display will show “bt”. Both the LED indicator and the LCD screen will flash, and you will hear a double beep sound indicating that the soundbar is in pairing mode.
- Turn on the Bluetooth feature on your device and ensure that it is in “discoverable” mode. Search for “DOLBY BAR” on your list of available devices and select it.
- Upon successful pairing, you will hear a tone and the letters “bt” on the LCD display will stop flashing.
- All playback functions (play/pause, volume, tracks) can be controlled from your playback source (ex. phone/mp3 player) without ever having to touch the unit. You can also control playback from the DOLBY BAR (volume) or the remote control (volume, tracks, play/pause).
- Press and hold the Pair button on the remote to disconnect your input device or to reconnect a previously paired device.
- Please note: When a device is disconnected or turned off, the soundbar will automatically enter pairing mode. It will remain in pairing mode until a device is connected or it is shut off.
The soundbar will remember the last paired device and automatically connect to it. If the connected device goes out of Bluetooth range (33 feet), the soundbar will disconnect and automatically reconnect when it is within range. If you are using an iPhone, iPad, or iPod the volume controls are synced so that if you raise the volume on your device, it will raise the volume on the unit and vice versa. If using an Android device, you will need to adjust the device’s volume and the DOLBY BAR’s volume independently.
OPTICAL
Many TVs, Digital set-top boxes, game consoles, and DVD players have optical
(fiber optic) outputs. To connect via Optical input, follow the steps listed
below.
- Use the included digital optical audio cable to connect the DOLBY BAR to the sound source. Keep in mind that you will need to adjust the device’s volume and the DOLBY BAR’s volume independently.
- Power on the DOLBY BAR by connecting it to an AC power source. Press the Standby/Input button on the side of the DOLBY BAR and continue to press it until the LCD display shows the letters “OPt”. You can also press the INPUT button on the remote control to reach Optical mode.
- If connecting to a TV, set its sound output to external speakers. Please note: If you are having issues with sound output, go into your TV’s audio settings and make sure to deactivate Dolby Pro-Logic, Dolby ATMOS, etc., and select PCM format.
HDMI (ARC)
The DOLBY BAR can be connected to your TV or receiver via an ARC-enabled HDMI port. ARC stands for “Audio Return Channel” and has been available on most TVs, receivers, and soundbars since the HDMI 1.4 standard was introduced in 2009. The ARC protocol offers two-way communication between devices over a single HDMI connection. Simply put, this means that you can use the HDMI ARC port (if available) as an input and an audio output. Check your specific device’s manual to see if it features an HDMI ARC port.
-
Power on the DOLBY BAR by connecting it to an AC power source. Press the Standby/Input button on the side of the DOLBY BAR and continue to press it until the LCD display shows the letters “Hd”. You can also press the INPUT button on the remote control to reach HDMI mode.
-
Connect a standard HDMI cable to your sound bar and connect the other end to your TV’s HDMI ARC port. Most TVs feature ARC output over only one HDMI port. This port should be labeled as HDMI ARC. If the HDMI ports aren’t clearly labeled, you can check the TV’s manual, which should indicate which HDMI port to use and if the ARC feature needs to be manually activated.
Please note: the DOLBY BAR must be plugged into an ARC-enabled HDMI port. It will not work with a standard HDMI port. Check your specific device’s manual to see if it features an HDMI ARC port. -
Set your TV’s sound output to external speakers.
Please note: If you are having issues with sound output, go into your TV’s audio settings and make sure to deactivate Dolby Pro-Logic, Dolby ATMOS, etc., and select PCM format.
USB
- Power on the DOLBY BAR by connecting it to an AC power source and pressing the Power/Standby button.
- Plug in your USB flash drive. The unit will automatically read the files and begin playing music.
- You can control playback from the DOLBY BAR (volume) or the remote control (volume, tracks, play/pause, stop).
- To exit USB mode you can remove your USB flash drive or press the Power/Standby button on the side of the DOLBY BAR to select another mode. To return to USB mode plug in a USB flash drive or press the Power/Stand-by button until the LCD display shows the letters “USB”. You can also press the INPUT button on the remote control to exit from or return to USB mode.
Please note: the DOLBY BAR supports USB drives up to 32Gb and the MP3 file format. The USB port does not support charging.
AUX
Use the 3.5mm AUX jack to connect computers or any other external sound source
with a 3.5mm output.
- Power on the DOLBY BAR by connecting it to an AC power source. Press the Standby/Input button on the side of the DOLBY BAR and continue to press it until the LCD display shows the letters “AU”. You can also press the INPUT button on the remote control to reach AUX mode.
- Use a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable to connect the DOLBY BAR to the sound source.
- Playback functions (play/pause, volume, tracks) are not available in AUX mode. Please note: you will need to adjust the device’s volume and the DOLBY BAR’s volume independently.
MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS
The distance between the center holes on the wall brackets is 28
Once you’ve selected your mounting location, drill two holes at the same distance as the holes on the wall brackets
We recommend using wall anchors (fig B) or drilling into a stud. If you are using anchors, make sure the holes are deep enough to accommodate them. When installing the screws, be sure to leave a 3.5 – 4mm gap between the wall and the screw’s head (fig C).
