CHARGING
The Recon Air gives you 10 hours of rechargeable battery life. After 10 hours of use, the headset will need to be charged before it can be used again.
Make sure to charge the headset regularly, and to charge the headset fully before storing it.
PLAYSTATION SETUP
Your Recon Air can pair to its transmitter and a mobile device simultaneously, but you will only hear audio from either the console or the mobile device at a given time.
When a headset is paired to both the transmitter and a Bluetooth device and is being used with the console for chat audio, the headset will consider the console the audio source. During normal gameplay, you will not hear the Bluetooth audio at all. If, however, a Bluetooth call is made, the headset will switch the audio source from the console to the Bluetooth device. During a Bluetooth call, you will not hear the console audio at all. When that call ends, the headset will switch the audio source back to the console, and you will then hear the chat audio from the console again.
1. Connect the mini transmitter to a USB port on the console. If you are using a PS5 , we recommend connecting the transmitter to the USB port on the front of the PS5 console.
2. Press and hold the Power button on the headset to power the headset on. The headset and transmitter will automatically pair.
3. Go to Settings >> Sound >> Audio Output
- Set Recon Air as your Output Device
- Set Volume Control (headphones) to Maximum
- Set Output to Headphones to Chat Audio
4. Go to Settings >> Sound >> Microphone
- Set Recon Air as your Input Device
- Use the Adjust Mic Level setting to adjust your microphone’s outbound volume, if desired.

No Mic Audio
If you are having issues being heard in chat, please give the following steps a try.
1. Headset/Transmitter Are Paired/Mic Is Not Muted/No Bluetooth Calls Are Active
In order to transmit your outgoing mic audio to the chat, the headset and its transmitter need to be paired. You can verify whether the headset and transmitter are paired by looking at the LEDs on the headset and transmitter. If the LEDs on both the headset and transmitter are solid blue , the headset and transmitter are successfully paired.
- Please note: Following a successful pair, the “Paired” LED indication on the headset will stay lit for 10 seconds, and the “Paired” LED indication on the transmitter will stay lit for 5 seconds. Once this time elapses, those “Paired” LEDs will dim.
The Recon Air For PlayStation has a mic mute button on the headset itself. To use the mic for chat, the mic itself must be unmuted.
- In addition: Your Recon Air can pair to its transmitter and a mobile device simultaneously, but you will only hear audio from either the console or the mobile device at a given time. If the headset is paired to the console and a Bluetooth-enabled device, and a Bluetooth call is active, the headset will switch the audio source to the Bluetooth device. If you usually use the headset with both a console and a Bluetooth device, make sure there are no active Bluetooth calls.
If the LEDs on the headset and transmitter light up solid after pairing, the mic is unmuted, and there are no Bluetooth calls active, but you cannot be heard in chat, please continue to Step 2.
2. The Settings Are Configured
If the headset and transmitter are paired, but you cannot be heard in chat, please check that the settings for the console and your game are configured for headset use.
- Go to Settings >> Sound >> Microphone
- Set Recon Air as your Input Device
- Go to the Adjust Microphone Level screen, and follow the **** on-screen calibration instructions.
Did the bar on the screen move when you followed those instructions?
If that bar did not move, please proceed to Step 3.
If it did, please continue with the game settings.
- Then, make sure that the audio settings within the actual game are configured correctly. For some games, you will need to set the headset as the default input and output device. For other games, there are specific audio or chat settings that would affect your ability to hear or be heard in a voice chat.
- Ensure that voice chat is enabled , Push-To-Talk is disabled , and that any Recording Thresholds are at the minimum settings.
If the microphone still isn’t working even with those settings configured correctly, please continue to Step 3.
3. Bluetooth Test Call
If the console settings are configured properly, but the issue persists, the next step would be to test the headset with a different device. *For this test, you will need to have access to a Bluetooth-compatible smartphone.
- First, pair your headset with a Bluetooth-enabled smartphone. The full instructions for doing so are available here , but essentially you will need to do the following:
- Press and hold the power button on the headset to power the headset on.
- Then, double-press the Multi-Function Button (same as power button) to put the headset into the mobile pairing mode.
- Locate the headset within your device’s Bluetooth settings. Select the headset to connect to it.
- When your headset is paired to that Bluetooth-enabled smartphone, then make a test call. Be sure to keep the phone itself covered and away from you, to make sure that the headset’s mic is the one picking up the sound, not the internal microphones in the smartphone itself.
During that test call, could you be heard clearly and consistently when you spoke into the mic, even when the smartphone itself is kept covered/away from you?
If you can be heard clearly during that test call, the headset itself is working well; please continue to Step 4.
If you cannot be heard clearly during that test call, please contact our support team.
4. Power Cycle Headset
If the headset is working well, but the console itself does not detect the headset at all, please try a Power Cycle of the headset and console.
- Unplug the transmitter from the console.
- Press and hold the power button on the headset for 4 seconds, until the LED on the headset goes dark.
- Let everything sit for a few seconds.
- Press and hold the power button on the headset for 2 seconds, until the LED lights up.
- Plug the transmitter back in to the console. If possible, please try connecting the transmitter to a different USB port on the console itself.
- The headset and transmitter should automatically pair to each other.
- Now, test the headset out again.
Can you be heard clearly?
If the Power Cycle does not resolve this, please contact our Support Team.

Make sure to charge the headset regularly, and to fully charge it before storing. We recommend charging the headset between uses, via the console – but please note that the headset can also be charged via a different USB port/via a USB Wall Adapter.
When the headset is on and the battery is low, the LED on the headset will pulse red. When the headset is connected via USB and the battery is finished charging completely, the LED on the headset will pulse blue.
