Orbegozo CM 9020 ELECTRIC CHIMNEY
Product Information
The CM 9020 and CM 9021 are heating appliances manufactured by SONIFER SA.
These appliances are designed for household use and are equipped with manual
control of heat load and an integrated thermostat. The CM 9020 has a power
rating of 1.5 KW, while the CM 9021 has a power rating of 0.8 KW. Both models
have the ability to respond to the temperature inside or outside the room. The
appliances have additional features such as control of interior temperature,
daily timer, weekly timer, and other selectable control options. The
appliances have a built-in safety mechanism to avoid overheating.
Product Usage Instructions
- Read the operating instructions carefully before using the appliance.
- Ensure that the appliance is placed on a horizontal and stable surface or fix it to a wall if possible.
- Do not cover the appliance to prevent overheating.
- Keep children aged 3 years and below away from the appliance unless continuously supervised.
- Children aged from 3 to 8 years can switch the appliance on/off only if it is placed or installed correctly.
- Do not use the appliance if there are visible signs of damage.
- Do not handle the appliance with wet hands.
- Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.
- Unplug the appliance before cleaning it.
- Install the appliance following the national regulations for electrical installations.
- Keep flammable materials at least 1m away from the air outlet to reduce the risk of fire.
- To use the flame effect without any heater function, slide the main on/off switch to the on position.
- To activate low heat, slide the main on/off switch and the I slide switch to the on position.
- To activate high heat, slide the main on/off switch, the I switch, and the II switch to the on position.
- The thermostat must be on in order to use the heat function.

General
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children must never play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance must never be carried out by children without supervision.
- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
- WARNING: In order to ensure your children‘s safety, please keep all packaging (plastic bags, boxes, polystyrene etc.) out of their reach.
- If the supply cord is damaged it must be repaired by the Authorized Service Agent to avoid a hazard.
- Never pull on the cord when unplugging.
- Do not use the unit with a damaged cord or plug, or if it is not working properly.
- Do not handle the appliance with wet hands.
- Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.
- Make sure the appliance has been unplugged before cleaning.
- This appliance must be installed following the national regulations for electrical installations.

Special Safety Instructions
WARNING: In order to avoid overheating, do not cover the heater.
- Children of less than 3 years should be kept away unless continuously supervised.
- Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall only switch on/off the appliance provided that it has been placed or installed in its intended normal operating position and they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall not plug in, regulate and clean the appliance or perform user maintenance.
- CAUTION: Some parts of this product can become very hot and cause burns. Particular attention has to be given where children and vulnerable people are present.
- The device should not be placed immediately below a socket base.
- Do not place a heater in use near curtains, furniture, wood paneling or combustible material which can deteriorate with heat.
- Do not use this heater in the immediate vicinity of a bath, shower or pool.
- Check if the voltage indicated on the bottom of the appliance corresponds to the local mains voltage before you connect the appliance.
- The appliance must be connected to an earthed mains outlet. If you wish to use an extension cord, a 3-wire type is suitable.
- Do not use the appliance in flammable atmospheres (e.g. in the vicinity of combustible gases or sprays cans)! Explosion and fire hazard!
- Important! Do not insert any object into the appliance openings! Risk of injury (electric shock) and damage to the appliance!
- Attention! The front grille becomes very hot when the appliance is in use. Place the appliance so that is cannot be touched by accident! Risk of burns! The appliance will cool down gradually after being switched off.
- Keep the mains cord at a safe distance from the air inlet and outlet grills. Do not wind the cord around the appliance and do not bend it.
- Always unplug the fireplace after use.
- The plug must be accessible at all times in order to disconnect the plug from the mains as quickly as possible.
- Do not try to move the fireplace while it is in use.
- Do not use the fireplace on carpets that are too thick!
- Do not use the fireplace if it is not in a vertical position.There is tip over switch on the base. When the heater tips over, the electricity will be turned off automatically.
- Do not use this heater if it has been dropped.
- Do not use if there are visible signs of damage to the heater.
- Use this heating appliance on a horizontal and stable surface, or i f possible fix it to a wall.
- WARNING: Do not use this heater in rooms that are occupied by persons who cannot leave the room by themselves, unless permanent surveillance is provided.
- WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, keep textiles, curtains, or other flammable material at least 1m away from the air outlet.
LIGHTING THE FIREPLACE:
- For flame effect only: Slide the main on/off switch to the on position to have the flame effect without any heater function.
- For low heat: slide the main on/off switch to the ON position and the “I” slide switch to the ON position.
- For High Heat: Slide the main On/Off switch to the On position and slide the “I” switch and the “II” switch to the On position.
NOTE: The thermostat must be on in order to use the heat function.
THERMOSTAT SETTING:
After the fireplace has lit and the room has reached the desired temperature, slowly turn the thermostat knob counter-clockwise until the heat turns off (you should hear a slight “click”). It will automatically maintain this temperature. To lower the temperature, turn the knob furthest to the left toward the LOW (-) position. To increase the temperature, turn the thermostat knob clockwise to the HIGH (+) position.
OFF:
Turn off the main on/off switch to discontinue use. The low heat switch and
high heat switch can remain in either position and will have no power. They
will continue to have the same set functions when the fireplace is relit. The
fireplace must be unplugged when not in use.
IMPORTANT SAFETY FEATURES
The fireplace is equipped with an automatic overheat protection device inside
the body of the appliance. If the grill is clogged or the heater gets too hot
for any reason, the automatic overheat protection device will shut the heater
off. To reset the fireplace, simply turn off and unplug for 10 minutes until
it cools down and you can turn it back on. Make sure the fireplace is on a
smooth, level surface with no obstructions.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
CLEANING:
CAUTION! Before cleaning the fireplace, be sure to unplug the power cord and
allow it to cool completely. Wipe the outer surface with a clean, damp cloth.
Do not use abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals. DO NOT IMMERSE THE HEATER IN
WATER. Let the heater dry completely before using it. Use a vacuum cleaner or
duster to keep the heating and venting area clean and free of dust and dirt.
LEG ASSEMBLY:
Simple assembly is required if your heater legs arrive unassembled. Using a
screwdriver, drive three screws through the holes in each leg and tighten
clockwise into the bottom of the heater.
DISPOSAL OF OLD ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES
The European directive 2012/19/EU on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment
(WEEE), requires that old household electrical appliances must not be disposed
of in the normal unsorted municipal waste stream. Old appliances must be
collected separately in order to optimize the recovery and recycling of the
materials they contain, and reduce the impact on human health and the
environment. The crossed out “wheeled bin” symbol on the product reminds you
of your obligation, that when you dispose of the appliance, it must be
separately collected. Consumers should contact their local authority or
retailer for information concerning the correct disposal of their old
appliance.
