Safety Instructions
This document contains important information and should be kept with the instrument at all times during its operational life. Carefully read all instructions before using the instrument. Other users of this instrument should be given these instructions with the instrument.
- Do not alter the instrument.
- Use the instrument only as specified, or the protection provided by the instrument can be compromised.
- Do not use the instrument if it operates incorrectly.
- Do not use the instrument if it is altered or damaged.
- Disable the instrument if it is damaged.
- Avoid any action that can generate an electrostatic charge. Electrostatic discharge is an explosion hazard.
- Replace the batteries when the battery status indicator appears low to prevent incorrect measurements.
- Ensure the battery polarity is correct to prevent battery leakage.
- If the unit is equipped with 24V DC power, the pipe to which the gauge is attached must be properly grounded.
- If the display reads “OL”, the range limit is exceeded and the pressure source must immediately be reduced.
To avoid possible damage to the instrument or equipment under test
- Always apply thread seal tape to the threads of the gauge. When installing in Stainless Steel, use nickel-filled PTFE Thread Sealant Tape to prevent galling.
- Do not exceed the maximum allowed torque or 10 Newton Meters (8-foot pounds.)
- Never tighten the gauge threads by holding the body of the gauge. This could damage the gauge threads and make the gauge inoperable. Use a wrench to tighten the gauge to the process.
- When the access port(s) are not in use, keep the included dust cover protectors attached to prevent damage to the connectors.
After installation, long press the RIGHT ARROW button to reset the ZERO of the gauge. Future updates to this information can be found at http://www.palmerwahl.com and must be added to the original document. The instrument can only be operated by trained personnel under these instructions and local safety regulations.
Acceptable Operation
This instrument is intended only for the measurement of pressure. The
instrument is appropriate for continuous use and operates reliably in
demanding conditions as long as the documented technical specifications for
all instrument components are adhered to. Compliance with the operating
instructions is necessary to ensure the expected results.
Unacceptable Operation
Replacement Parts and Accessories: Use only original parts and accessories
approved by the manufacturer. The use of other parts can compromise the
operation, safety, and functionality of the instrument.
Instrument Disposal
Disposal of old instruments should be handled according to professional and
environmental regulations of your area for electronic waste.

How to Replace the Battery
- Replace the battery only with a C size, Lithium Thionyl Chloride battery, 3.6 V, 8.5 Ah Capacity (Palmer Wahl PN: DSA3062).
DO NOT USE ALKALINE BATTERIES
- When the battery status indicator shows low battery, replace the battery by first removing the 4 screws and lock washers on the corners of the case with a Philips head screwdriver.
- Lift the case cover up carefully. When the PC Board is exposed, hold down the board gently while pulling the battery out of the holder.
- Place the new battery in the holder and snap it into place.
- When the new battery is connected the board will cycle through red, blue and green lights.
- Gently replace the case cover and insert the screws with the lock washers back into place. Do not use a power screwdriver due to the potential to overtighten the screws.
