Product Usage Instructions

Installation

  1. Ensure the surface to be monitored is clean and dry.
  2. Peel backing material from the Temp-Plate.
  3. Press the adhesive side firmly against the surface.
  4. Use fingers to smooth out all air bubbles beneath the Temp-Plate.
  5. The rated temperature has been reached when the indicator point turns black, providing an irreversible temperature record.

We have successfully created custom and made-to-order Temp-Plates in partnership with a wide variety of manufacturing, design, maintenance and research industry leaders, including commercial and aviation, aerospace, energy, medical, pharmaceutical, and the computer industry.

Custom Temp-Plates produced to customer’s specifications. Custom size, shape, range, positions, color, and logo imprint, subject to factory approval.

TEMP-PLATE STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS

  • Rated Temperature 90°F to 500°F (32°C to 260°C).
  • Accuracy Color change at 1% of indicated value, e.g. ±2.5°F at 250°F or ±1.2°C at 121°C.
  • Color Change Irreversible change from pearl gray to black at rated temperatures.

IMPORTANT NOTE: All labels 110°F/43°C and below are considered low temperature and are shipped with an ice pack to prevent the labels from turning in transit. They should be refrigerated upon receipt or they could turn before their intended use.

Low temperature labels are shipped by Overnight service. International shipments must use Express or Priority service.
Low temperature labels are only shipped from our factory Monday – Thursday, unless Saturday delivery is requested.

Mounting Pressure-sensitive adhesive backing rated to 500°F on smooth, clean, dry surfaces.

Shelf Life emp-plates are guaranteed to stick for a minimum of five years from date of manufacture when stored in their original container under the following conditions:

Storage

  • Temp-Plate Labels with indication points of 110°F (43°C) or below should be refrigerated upon receipt to prevent any temperature points from turning prematurely.
  • Temp-Plate Labels with indication points above 110°F (43°C) should be stored at an average room temperature of 60° to 80°F and relative humidity of 50%. If you install Temp-plates according to instructions and have any issue, return the remaining unused labels to us for a no charge replacement.

Installation

Surface to be monitored should be clean and dry. Peel backing material from Temp-Plate and press the adhesive side firmly against the surface. Use fingers to smooth out all air bubbles beneath Temp-Plate. Rated temperature has been reached when indicator point turns black.
