Upgrade Kit
Installation
Disconnect the AC adapter before installation.
To upgrade the Model FPI-32 Programmer/Tester using the Model FPI-UK11 Upgrade
Kit, follow the steps listed below:

Remove the 9 screws around the sides of the FPI-32 and set them to one side. Remove the FPI-32 cover.

Remove one of the batteries.

Remove the black inner cover inside the detector base by removing the 2 screws marked A, as shown in Figure 1. Set the screws and the cover to one side.

Disconnect the wires from screw terminals 5 (red) and 6 (black).

Remove the black base by removing the 2 screws marked B, as shown in Figure 1. Discard the black base.

Mount the white base provided in the FPI-UK11 Upgrade Kit using the 2 screws removed in Step 5.

Connect the black wires to screw terminal 6 and the red wires to screw terminal 5.

Place the black inner cover that was removed in Step 3 back inside the base. Line up the holes and use the 2 screws set aside in Step 3 to secure the black inner cover in place.

Insert the new IC2.
a. Remove IC2 from its socket. Do this by lifting one end of the IC slightly, then the other end. Continue this process until the IC comes free. Use a short, thin blade screwdriver for best results. Refer to Figure 2 for the location of IC2.
b. Discard the old IC.
c. Insert the FPI-32 Rev. 3.2 IC into the socket for IC2.
Locate the notch in the end of the IC to face the batteries as indicated by the silkscreen outline on the PC board (See Figure 2). Be sure that all pins go into the proper socket holes. Press down firmly to seat the IC properly.

Replace the battery removed in Step 2.

Replace the FPI-32 cover, removed in Step 1, back on the chassis and fasten it securely with the 9 screws.

Place the supplied FPI-32 Programmer/Tester Operating Instructions front cover label over the existing label.

Remove the TRI-MSI connections label (adjacent to the TRI/MSI connection plug) and replace with the supplied TRI/MSI/CZM/I CP label.

(Optional) Install base detector lock according to Installation Instructions P/N 315-080240. This locks the adapter in place with the base.

Insert the DB-ADPT adapter into the base and rotate it until it locks in place.
FPI-32 Program and Menu Modes
Significant changes have been made to the FPI-32 Program and Menu modes.
