118384 T-One Connector

DO NOT exceed the lower towing manufacturing rating (including in your vehicle owner’s manual) or specific amperage ratings stated on the product.
ALWAYS read, understand, and follow all warnings and instructions printed on the tow vehicle’s battery.
ALWAYS wear safety glasses and use all safety precautions during installation.

TOOLS REQUIRED:

Trim Panel Remover, 10mm Socket & Ratchet or 10mm Wrench, Drill (3/32” Drill Bit), Wire Crimpers, Wire Cutters, Philips Head Screwdriver, Test-probe.

Open the hatch, locate and remove trim panels covering the tail light mounting screws. Using a 10mm socket or Phillps screwdriver remove the mounting screws on both driver’s and passenger’s tail lights, being careful not to break mounting tabs. AB
Starting on the driver’s side, locate the taillight wiring connectors from the driver’s & passenger’s sides. Disconnect the vehicle wiring harness from both taillight sockets. Being careful not to break the locking tabs, set taillights aside. C
Beginning on the driver’s side and underneath the vehicle, route the harness containing the yellow wire up through the opening between the vehicle bumper and body to the driver’s side taillight pocket.
NOTE
For ease of installation use a fish wire between the taillight pocket and the rear fascia to pull the harness from underneath the vehicle out through the taillight pocket.
Locate the connectors matching the end of the T-One® Connector. Insert the T-One® Connector end containing the yellow wire in between the vehicle and tail light connector. All connector surfaces should be clean and free of dirt. C
Underneath the vehicle, determine a suitable mounting point behind the rear bumper fascia on the driver’s side. Mount the T-One® Connector black box using the double-sided tape provided.
NOTE
Clean flat mount surface area using a 50-50 mixture of rubbing alcohol and water to mount the lighting module black box.

Make sure the lighting module is mounted so that the epoxy side of the module is pointed toward the ground to prevent any water buildup.

Locate a suitable grounding point near the black box such as an existing ground stud or drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire using the eyelet and screw provided. (Do not drill into vehicle floor or bed.) Clean dirt and rustproofing from the area.

Verify what is behind any surface prior to drilling to avoid damage to the vehicle and/or personal injury. Do not drill into any exposed surfaces.

Route harness containing the green wire underneath the vehicle up through the opening between the vehicle bumper and body to the passenger’s side taillight pocket.

If routing the wire thru a grommet and along the exterior of the vehicle, be careful to avoid any hot pipes, heat shields, the fuel tank, or any other points that may pinch or break the wire.
NOTE
For ease of installation use a fish wire between the taillight pocket and rear fascia to pull the harness from underneath the vehicle out through the taillight pocket.

Locate the connector matching the end of the T-One® Connector. Insert the T-One® Connector end containing the green wire in between the vehicle and tail light connector. All connector surfaces should be clean and free of dirt. C
Disconnect the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery cable. If not removed, remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder (provided). After cutting the fuse holder wire, attach the ring terminal and secure it to the vehicle’s Positive (+) battery cable. Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black 12 ga. wire, using the yellow butt connector (provided). D
Beginning from the front of the vehicle, route the black 12 ga. wire rearward along the frame rail avoiding any hot pipes, heat shields, the fuel tank, or any other points that may pinch or break the wire.

If routing the wire thru a grommet and along the exterior of the vehicle, be careful to avoid any hot pipes, heat shields, the fuel tank, or any other points that may pinch or break the wire.

Connect the other end of the black 12 ga. wire to the black power wire located on the T-One® Connector’s black box, using the yellow butt connector (provided).
Reconnect the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery cable and install the 15 amp fuse into the fuse holder from step 9.

Read and follow all warnings and cautions printed on the tow vehicle’s battery. All connections must be complete for the T-One® Connector to function properly. Test and verify the installation with a test light or trailer once installed. For the initial test, reset vehicle’s electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition.

Reinstall the plastic trim panels, threshold, storage covers, floor covering, and other items that may have been removed during installation, being careful not to pinch or cut the wires.
NOTE
Secure all loose wires and mount the Trailer Tow Harness in an accessible location with a bracket or electrical box.

Overloading circuits can cause fires. DO NOT exceed stated product ratings. Read the vehicle’s owner’s manual & instruction sheet for additional information.
