118851 T-One T-Connector Harness
WARNING
ALWAYS read and follow all warnings and instructions included with the
purchase before beginning installation. Keep it for future reference.
DO NOT exceed lower towing manufacturing rating (including in your
vehicle owner’s manual) or specific amperage ratings stated on the product.
ALWAYS read, understand, and follow all warnings and instructions printed
on the tow vehicle’s battery.
ALWAYS wear safety glasses and use all safety precautions during
installation.
TOOLS REQUIRED:
Trim Panel Remover, 10mm Socket & Ratchet or 10mm Wrench, Drill (3/32” Drill Bit), Wire Crimpers, Wire Cutters, Philips Head Screwdriver, Test-probe

Open the hatch, locate and remove trim panels covering the tail lights, using a 10mm socket, and remove the mounting screws on both driver’s and passenger’s tail lights, being careful not to break trim panel mounting tabs. A B

Disconnect the vehicle wiring harness from both taillight sockets. Separate this connector, being careful not to break the locking tabs, Set both tail lights aside.

Beginning on the driver’s side and underneath the vehicle, route the harness containing the yellow wire up through the opening between the vehicle bumper and body to the driver’s side taillight pocket.
NOTE
For ease of installation use a fish wire between the taillight pocket and rear fascia to pull the harness from underneath the vehicle out through the taillight pocket -
Insert the T-One® Connector end, with the yellow wire, between the vehicle wiring connectors and lock into place. All connector surfaces should be clean and free of dirt.

Underneath the vehicle, determine a suitable mounting point behind the rear bumper fascia on the passenger’s side. mount the T-One ® Connector black box using the double-sided tape provided.
CAUTION
Make sure module is mounted so that the epoxy side of the module is pointed towards the ground to prevent any water buildup.
CAUTION
Verify what is behind any surface prior to drilling to avoid damage to the vehicle and/or personal injury . Do not drill into any exposed surfaces. -
Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector such as an existing ground stud or drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire using the eyelet and screw provided. (Do not drill into vehicle floor or bed.) Clean dirt and rustproofing from the area.
WARNING
If routing the wire thru a grommet and along the exterior of the vehicle, be careful to avoid any hot pipes, heat shields, the fuel tank, or any other points that may pinch or break the wire. -
Route harness containing the green wire underneath the vehicle up through the opening between the rear fascia and body to the passenger’s side taillight pocket.
NOTE
For ease of installation use a fish wire between the taillight pocket and rear fascia to pull the harness from underneath the vehicle out through the taillight pocket. -
Insert the T-One ® Connector end, with the green wire, between the vehicle wiring connectors and lock into place. All connector surfaces should be clean and free of dirt. c

Starting in the rear cargo area remove the threshold and cargo tray’s to access the battery in the rear cargo area. d

Disconnect the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery cable. If not removed, remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder (provided). After cutting the fuse holder wire, attach the ring terminal and secure it to the vehicle’s Positive (+) battery cable. Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black 12 ga. wire, using the yellow butt connector (provided). E
WARNING
If routing the wire thru a grommet and along the exterior of the vehicle, be careful to avoid any hot pipes, heat shields, the fuel tank, or any other points that may pinch or break the wire. -
Locate the grommet in the floor pan in the rear cargo area near the battery. Using a utility knife, carefully slit the grommet and route the black 12 ga wire through the slit in the grommet to the underneath of the vehicle. F
NOTE
Optional: after slitting the grommet apply a small amount of silicone sealant to the grommet and wire after installation to prevent environmental intrusion. -
Connect the other end of the black 12 ga. wire to the black power wire located on the T-One® Connector’s black box, using the yellow butt connector (provided).

Reconnect the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery cable and install the 15 amp fuse into the fuse holder from step 10.
WARNING
Read and follow all warnings and cautions printed on the tow vehicle’s battery. All connections must be complete for the T-One ® Connector to function properly. Test and verify the installation with a test light or trailer once installed. For the initial test, reset the vehicle’s electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition. -
Reinstall the plastic trim panels, threshold, storage covers, floor covering, and other items that may have been removed during installation, being careful not to pinch or cut the wires.
NOTE
Secure all loose wires and mount the Trailer Tow Harness in an accessible location with a bracket or electrical box.
WARNING
Overloading circuits can cause fires. DO NOT exceed stated product ratings. Read vehicle’s owner’s manual & instruction sheet for additional information.
