Pull the windshield and all of the hardware out of the box. Begin by peeling back the protective film(both sides) from all bolt slot areas, top and bottom bracing areas, and 1” or so from the hood contour (gasket area). This will allow installation with most of the protective film in place to avoid scratching the windshield during handling. Firstly install the top and bottom bracing according to fig. 1, using the hardware provided. Note that the top bracing is narrower than the bottom bracing. Next, install the Velcro straps to the sides of the lower windshield as illustrated in photo 1. Ensure the strap plates are installed on the outside, with the webbing strap between it and the face of the windshield. All bolt heads should be facing the front, with the locknuts installed on the inside of the windshield. Use one flat washer each under the bolt heads and behind the locknuts.
-
Now take the rubber gasket provided and install it along the bottom edge contour. Take care to seat the gasket fully home to the bottom edge contour.
-
Now you are ready to place the windshield on the vehicle. With assistance, place the windshield on the hood. The rubber gasket should temporarily hold it up but use caution. The top of the windshield at the bend should go underneath the roll cage top tube. Install the clamps and hardware through each slot according to fig.2.
-
You will notice two holes on each side of the windshield inboard of the slots and just above the bottom brace; you will use these holes to hold the bottom of the windshield up when it is in the raised position. Install the two 2” bolts through the holes from the inside out with a washer on both sides of the windshield and one nut each on the outside of the windshield. See fig. 3. Use the plastic thumbnuts to secure.
-
Finally wrap the roll bar with the supplied 4” adhesive Velcro strips where the straps on the windshield meet up at both the lowered and raised positions.
-
Enjoy, and remember- when cleaning the windshield do so gently at first with warm water and mild detergent to dislodge any grit that may scratch the Lexan.
After rinsing and drying with a soft cloth, you may then polish the windshield with an appropriate commercially available plastic polish, also available from Falcon Ridge. This will ensure many seasons of clarity and keep scratching and swirling to a minimum. Never use cleaners such as Windex that contain ammonia as doing so may adversely affect the windshield. -
If needed, additional spare parts and hardware are available. Contact Falcon Ridge for information.
-
Transporting or trailering your UTV with the windshield installed is not generally recommended. It is best to remove the windshield before transporting your UTV.
