Prepare for Installation
Disconnect electrical power to range before beginning installation. Before servicing any part of the appliance, make sure the appliance is off and the surfaces are cool. Attempting to service the appliance while hot may cause burns or other injury.
Use rubbing alcohol on countertops and on back of range to remove residue and dust that may prevent adhesive from sticking.
Before peeling away the adhesive tape on the trim strips, find the correct location for each piece and check the placement. This will ensure the trim pieces will fit and apply as intended.
Make sure range is level and in position before applying adhesive trim pieces.
The gas range trim kit contains four pieces:
- One vented rear piece that attaches with screws to the back of the range
- One rear trim with adhesive strips that attach to the back of the vented piece
- Two side trim pieces with adhesive strips that attach to the countertop. Check fit and placement before peeling tape.
Rear vented trim
The vented trim piece must be installed first to ensure proper ventilation. To install, remove the three screws from the back of the range that align with the tabs on the bottom of the vented trim piece. The vents face away from the range back. Replace the screws to secure the vented trim piece in place.
Rear trim strip
The rear trim piece with the adhesive strips attaches to the vented trim piece as shown below. Exact placement may vary depending on your range’s height against the countertop. Remember to push the range into final position before installing the side trim pieces to the countertop surface.
Once the vented trim piece is secured, install the rear trim piece with the
adhesive strip. Peel the tape from the rear trim piece. Center
the rear trim piece to the width of the range, with the adhesive strip against
the back of the range. Apply and hold the rear trim piece for 10 seconds.
Side trim strips
Make sure the range is in final position before applying side trim pieces. Remove tape from the side trim piece. Align the front of the side trim piece with the notch on the front of the range. Press the side trim against the countertop surface for 10 seconds. Repeat for remaining side trim piece.
