APPENDIX – INSTALLING APPLICATIONS NEEDED FOR DASHBOARD

To run DLM Dashboard the following must be installed on a local computer or virtual machine:

  • WSL (Windows Subsystem for Linux)
  • Ubuntu (installed as part of the WSL installation)
  • Docker
  • ESE (Edge Streaming Engine) running in the Docker environment
  • Niagara Workbench 4.10 or later

WSL, Docker, and ESE can be installed from the DLM Dashboard Sync application. Installation of Workbench is a separate process and not covered in this appendix.

NOTE: Install Workbench prior to beginning this process since it will need to be installed in order to complete the setup.

Prior to Installation

  1. Search for the “Turn Windows features on or off” Control Panel and open it.

  2. Check to see that the Hyper V, Virtual Machine Platform, and Windows Subsystem for Linux checkboxes are all selected. If any of them are not, select them.
