NOTE: READ INSTRUCTIONS THOROUGHLY BEFORE INSTALLATION WORK BEGINS
DIESEL VALVE COVER GASKET EXTERNAL HARNESS INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
ATTENTION: Refer to the appropriate shop manual for your vehicle to
obtain specific service procedures for this part. If you do not have a service
manual or lack the skill to install this part, it is recommended that you seek
the services of a qualified technician. Pay special attention to all cautions
and warnings included in the shop manual. Read and follow all instructions
carefully.
If the engine wiring harness which connects to the valve cover gasket is
damaged, the harness must be replaced. To connect the external injector
harness to the vehicle’s wiring harness:
- Cut the electrical tape on the engine wiring harness back until about 4 inches of wire leading in the harness connector is exposed
- Using butt connectors or solder and heat shrink, one-by-one splice the wires from the new external injector harness onto the existing engine wiring harness in the following order (reference Figure 1 and Figure 2 below):
