Removal Instructions
- STEP 1: Disconnect the battery.
- STEP 2: Turn the lock cylinder to the ON position.
- STEP 3: Remove the steering wheel on vehicles without a tilt column. Skip this step if your vehicle has tilt steering.
- Without tilt column:
- STEP 4: Use a small drift punch or similar tool to depress the lock retaining pin while pulling out the lock cylinder from the column.
- The pin is located inside the column near the base of the lock cylinder on non-tilt models and by the hazard switch button on tilting columns. With tilt column

Removal Instructions
- STEP 1: Disconnect battery.
- STEP 2: Turn the lock cylinder to the ON position.
- STEP 3: Remove the steering wheel on vehicles without a tilt column. (Skip this step if your vehicle has tilt steering.)
- STEP 4: Use a small drift punch or similar tool to depress the lock retaining pin while pulling out the lock cylinder from the column.
- The pin is located inside the column near the base of the lock cylinder on non-tilt models and by the hazard switch button on tilting columns.
Installation Instructions
- STEP 1: Turn the new lock cylinder to the ON position and depress the retaining pin then insert the lock cylinder into the housing. Assure that the cylinder is fully seated and aligned into the column before turning the key to the OFF position.
- STEP 2: Rotate the lock cylinder to ensure correct mechanical operation in all positions.
- STEP 3: Reinstall the steering wheel and steering wheel pad. (Perform this step if you removed the steering wheel).
- STEP 4: Reconnect the battery.
- STEP 5: Check for proper starting operation in Park and Neutral.
