Getting Started
Our team at Smart Weigh thanks you for purchasing the Smart Weigh Shipping and Postal Scale. Our goal is to bring you precision measuring devices that will ensure many years of quality and reliability. Please read through the safety and operating guidelines for optimal performance. Keep this manual and warranty for future reference.
- Always weigh on a flat and leveled surface, free from vibrations and drafts. The corner of a room is usually the most stable.
- Avoid exposure to extreme heat or cold. Scales perform best at normal room temperature. If temperatures have changed dramatically, calibration and adjustment may be necessary.
- Do not exceed the scale’s maximum capacity. Overloading the scale can permanently damage it!
- Store the scale in a clean, dry location. Dust, dirt, or moisture can accumulate in the weighing sensors causing inaccuracies or malfunction.
- Avoid using the scale in close proximity to radio wave emitting devices such as computers, cash registers, or cordless phones.
- Do not drop items onto the weighing platform. Gently apply all items to be weighed.
- Avoid dropping the scale. The warranty does not cover damage due to rough treatment or overload.
- Do not disassemble the scale. This product contains no user serviceable parts.
- If you are having trouble with your scale, check the battery. This simple step can remedy most scale issues.
- Only operate the scale on a stable, flat surface.
DIMENSIONS
Battery Installation
- Before using the scale for the first time, check the battery compartment and remove any plastic insulation strips or packaging that may be in place to prevent battery drainage during shipping and storage.
- One 9V block battery is included. This should be placed into the battery compartment in the manner indicated on the base plate.
Scale Operation
- Remove any plastic insulation strips or packaging from the battery compartment.
- Place scale on a flat, level surface.
- Turn the scale on with the ON/OFF key. All segments are shown on the display.
- Wait until the zero appear. Then place the object on the scale. The display will stabilize and flash 3 times. Your current weight will now be displayed.
PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Tare Weighing
- You can use the tare feature to subtract the weight of an empty box or container for net weight determination. (The weight of the container will subtract from the available capacity.)
- Turn on the scale as described above.
- Place the “tare item” on the platform.
- Press TARE key and wait until “0.0” is displayed.
- Add the “net-weight item” the display now will show the net- weight of the contents.
- To return to normal weight display (gross weight), remove any items from the weighing platform and press the TARE key again to re-zero the scale.
Power Off
- To turn the scale off, press the ON/OFF button.
- The scale will automatically switch-off after 2 minutes whether weight is on the scales or not, if no change of weight occurs in this time.
Changing Modes
- The scale includes 4 different weight units: kg, g, lb:oz, lb.
- Press the MODE key to change the scale’s displayed unit of measure.
PCS Function
- Turn on the scale and wait until the LCD displays “0.0”
- Place the reference weight on the scale. Press and hold the PCS button until “100” appears on the display. Press the MODE button to change the sample quantity (25, 50, 75, or 100), to match the reference weight.
- Press the PCS button once again to confim it.
- You can now add products on the scale platform and the display will show the count.
- Reference weight of the counting function will be saved even when turning the scale off. It will not be deleted untill you save a new weight of counting.
Error Codes
- Negative weight display – Press the TARE button again to re-zero the scale.
- O.Ld – Maximum capacity exceeded. Remove the extra weight to avoid damaging the load cell.
- Lo- batteries are low, replace the batteries.
Troubleshooting

Solution: Make sure your work areas surface is stable and free of any air currents or vibration.

Warranty
The Smart Weigh Scale is warrantied to the original owner for two years from the date of purchase for defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service. If your scale proves to be defective within one year of the purchase due to a manufacturer’s defect, then follow the terms outlined below:
- Pack your scale carefully to avoid damages in transit. This warranty will not apply to damages that occurred in the return transit.
- This warrantee will not cover any product that has been used for commercial purposes, rental use, or use that is not intended for this scale.
- Smart Weigh will not be liable for any damages, losses, or inconveniences caused by user negligence, abuse, or use that is not in accordance with this product manual.
- Smart Weigh is not responsible for any incidental or consequential damages of any nature resulting from use of this product. Any liability shall not exceed the purchase price of this product.
