Product Usage Instructions

Programming a New Transmitter (First Method)

  1. Locate the 8-digit remote code of the new remote to be programmed.
  2. Unlock the vehicle using an existing remote.
  3. Open and close the driver’s door once.
  4. Insert the key into the ignition and turn from LOCK to ON 11 times within 45 seconds.
  5. Open and close the driver’s door once.
  6. Register the 8-digit code by pressing the power door lock button following the specified sequence.
  7. Repeat the process for all digits of the remote code.
  8. Confirm the code by repeating the lock and unlock button sequence.
  9. Complete the process and test the remote.

Programming a New Transmitter (Second Method)

  1. Sit in the driver’s seat and close all doors.
  2. Open and close the driver’s door.
  3. Insert the key into the ignition and switch from Lock to ON 10 times rapidly.
  4. Open and close the driver’s door.
  5. Press any button on the remote to program it.
  6. Repeat steps for additional remotes.
  7. Remove the ignition key to exit learn mode.

ATTENTION: Refer to the appropriate shop manual for your vehicle to obtain specific service procedures for this part. If you do not have a service manual or lack the skill to install this part, it is recommended that you seek the services of a qualified technician. Pay special attention to all cautions and warnings included in the shop manual. Read and follow all instructions carefully. This product is only designed to function properly on specific vehicle applications. Please verify that the vehicle requirements match the product specifications and application notes for this part.

To program a new transmitter, it is necessary to program the transmitter’s 8-digit code into the vehicle. A label with an eight-digit number is located on the outside of our remote.
(Original remotes will have this code on the circuit board).

  • STEP 1: Locate the 8-digit remote code of the new remote to be programmed. The code is located on the outside of our remote. (Original remotes will have code on the circuit board.)
  • STEP 2 : Unlock the vehicle using the existing remote.
  • STEP 3 : Open and close the door ONE time. The next step must be completed within 45 seconds.
  • STEP 4: Within 45 seconds, insert the key into the ignition and without starting the vehicle turn from LOCK to ON 11 times ending in the ON position. (The instrument panel will light up in the ON position.)
  • STEP 5: Open and close the driver’s door ONE time. A constant faint chime will sound indicating your vehicle is in programming mode and is ready to accept a new remote. The next step must be completed within 45 seconds.
  • STEP 6: Within 45 seconds of your vehicle entering programming mode, begin registering your 8-digit code of the remote to be programmed.
  • STEP 7: Press the power door lock button to LOCK the same number of times as the first digit of your remote code found in step 1.
  • STEP 8: Within 5 seconds press the power door UNLOCK button.
  • STEP 9: Repeat steps 7 and 8 for all remaining digits of the remote code.
  • STEP 10: When you are finished with step 9, press the power door UNLOCK button on the car door once.
  • STEP 11: Repeat steps 7 through 9 a second time to confirm the 8-digit remote code.
  • STEP 12: When the 8-digit code has been entered a second time a faint chime will sound for 30 seconds.
  • STEP 13: Remove the key, open/close the door and test remote.
  • STEP 14: Repeat steps 1 through 13 for each additional remote needing to be programmed or re-programmed.

IF YOUR REMOTE LOOKS LIKE THIS ONE

Programming Instructions

  • STEP 1 : Sit in the driver’s seat and close all doors.

  • STEP 2: Open the driver’s door.

  • STEP 3: Close the door.

  • STEP 4: Insert the key into the ignition. Turn the ignition switch from Lock to ON (as far as you can go without cranking) 10 times in rapid succession ending in Lock (within 15 seconds). The horn will chirp to indicate the vehicle has entered key fob learn mode.
    Do not remove the key.

  • STEP 5 : Open the driver’s door.

  • STEP 6 : Close the driver’s door.

  • STEP 7: Press any button on the remote that you are programming. The horn will chirp 2 times to indicate that the remote has been programmed.

  • STEP 8: Repeat steps 5 through 7 for any additional remotes (including original remotes originally programmed to the vehicle).

  • STEP 9: Remove the ignition key from the ignition switch. The horn will chirp 3 times to indicate the system has exited learn mode.
