DORMAN 746-015 Liftgate Lock Actuator

REMOVAL/INSTALL OF DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR (746-015) 2006–00 Suburban 1500/2500, Yukon XL 1500/2500, 2006–01 Tahoe/Yukon, 2006–02 Escalade, 2000 Tahoe, Yukon w/o 5.7 engine
General Tech Tips
- Use painter’s tape rather than duct tape to secure window. It will not damage paint or leave sticky residue.
- A plastic pry tool is useful. It will not easily damage delicate trim like a screwdriver or metal pry bar.
Tools Required
Tools required for removal and installation of door lock actuator:
- Phillips head screwdriver
- T-15 Torx bit
- 10mm socket and ratchet assembly
- Trim panel removal tool

Removal Instructions
STEP 1: Using a Phillips head screwdriver, remove the lift gate pull down strap assembly.
STEP 2: Using a trim panel removal tool, remove the upper portion of the interior liftgate panel assembly. Once the upper portion of the interior trim panel has been removed, disconnect the lower portion of the interior trim panel.
STEP 3: Disconnect the electrical connectors.
STEP 4: Using a 10mm socket and ratchet assembly, remove the three (3) lift gate latch bracket retaining screws.
STEP 5: In an upward motion, raise the lift gate latch retaining bracket. Once you have the lift gate latch retaining bracket held in position, use a T-15 Torx bit to remove the liftgate latch retaining screw. NOTE: The lift gate latch retaining screw is on the back side of the liftgate latch retaining bracket.
STEP 6: Slide the lift gate lock actuator toward the passenger side of
the vehicle, to release the actuator from the lift gate latch retaining
bracket. Once the actuator is disconnected from the bracket, slide the lift
gate actuator arm out of position.
NOTE: Slide the arm toward the driver’s side of the vehicle.
Installation Instructions
STEP 1 : Slide the lift gate actuator arm into the lift gate latch bracket assembly.
STEP 2: Attach the lift gate lock actuator into position.
STEP 3: Using a T-15 Torx bit, install the lift gate lock actuator retaining screw on the back side of the lift gate latch bracket.
STEP 4: Using a 10mm socket and ratchet assembly, install the three (3) lift gate latch bracket retaining screws.
STEP 5: Attach the electrical connectors.
STEP 6: Install the lower portion of the lift gate interior trim panel.
Once the lower portion has been installed, install the upper portion of the
interior trim panel.
NOTE: Be sure to align the interior trim panel retainers with their
corresponding holes. Failure to do so will cause damage to the retainers.
STEP 7: Using a Phillips head screwdriver, install the interior lift gate pull handle retaining screw.
STEP 8 : Verify that the liftgate lock actuator is operating properly and that the interior trim panel is secure.
