GROUNDING

  • Before any connection is made, make certain that this product is connected to a protective earth conductor via the three-wire power cord; the three-blade plug should be inserted only into a socket outlet that provides a protective earth contact.

Product Functions

Intended Use

  • The Selectis Serenity XL pump and mattress are intended to reduce the incidence of pressure ulcers while optimizing patient comfort.

It also provides the following:

  • Individual home care setting and long-term care
  • Pain management as prescribed by a physician

Pump

  • Power Switch(l)
  • The switch is on the right side of the pump.
  • Turn ON/OFF the power and press the Power button on the panel, the pump will start/stop operation.
  • Press Cycle Time(2)
  • The cycle time is selectable from the panel.
  • The cycle time value can be either 10, 15, 20, or 25 minutes.
  • Press Pressure Range(3)
  • 20mmHg~65mmHg is offered from the panel, providing options of pressure value by easy press.
  • Alarm Mute(4)
  • The audible/visible alarm turns on after 1 minute when low pressure, power failure, or alternate failure.
  • To mute the audible alarm, press the Alarm Mute button. The visible alarm indicator will flash till the problem is solved.
  • Re-press the Alarm Mute button to reactivate the alarm.
  • Alternate mode(5)
  • Press to set the air mattress in alternate mode.
  • Static mode(6)
  • Press to set the air mattress in static mode.
  • Max Firm(7)
  • Press to set the air mattress in quick inflation mode, which facilitates nursing and caring.
  • Seat lnflate(S)
  • Press to set the air mattress in seat inflate+alternate or seat inflate+static mode, pressure value will increase by 5mmHg, which facilitates seating.
  • Under max firm mode, because the pressure is already set at the largest value, no more 5mmHg will be increased.
  • Lock button(9)
  • The panel will automatically lock in 5 minutes without operation.
  • Press the lock button and hold for 3 seconds, to lock or unlock the panel.

Mattress

  • The Selectis Serenity XL pump comes with a 10″ Nylon/PU cell on-cell mattress. 42″ and 48″ widths are optional for the mattress.

Installation & Operating Instructions

  • Place the pump on a horizontal surface or hang it using the hook.
  • Open the mattress on the bed. Secure it with end flaps or straps.
  • Connect air feed tubes to the air outlet on the mattress and pump, ensuring that the tubes are not “kinked” or twisted. Allow space for bed rails to drop freely.
  • Turn on the power. After a beep sound, the pump will begin the operation.
  • The pump will enter static mode initially when the power is turned on. The cycle time is set at the 1st LED (10 min.), and the pressure level is set at the 3 LED (30‡2mmHg). First, it will inflate the mattress to 10-15+2 mmHg and then enter alternate mode.
  • During normal operation, the pump will monitor pressure changes. If the pressure is below a user-defined pressure level, the pump will automatically start to inflate the mattress.
  • The pump will stop when the user-defined pressure level is reached.
  • The first inflation of the new mattress: the alarm function (visible and audible alarm) will activate if the mattress is not inflated completely within 40 minutes.
  • During the pump is running, a low-pressure alarm will activate within 1 minute after air tubes are disconnected or air cells are broken.
  • If there should be a power failure, for example, caused by a power cord unplugged or power off when the pump is working, the audible alarm will be activated and the power failure indicator will flash.
  • When power is back, the pump will automatically start working, do not need to press the power button on the panel again.
  • If the mattress stops alternating or alternating abnormally, the audible alarm will be activated and the alternate failure indicator will flash.
  • For nursing and caring convenience, press the max firm button to automatically inflate the mattresses to the maximum level (65mmHg) for about 20 minutes.
  • The pressure will return to alternate mode after 20 minutes.

Cleaning Guidelines

  • Can be cleaned by disinfectant solu on
  • Do not immerse the pump in water
  • Do not heat or steam in autoclave
  • The mattress and cover are aerated until they are fully dry

Maintenance

General

  • Check the power cord and plug to see if there are abrasions or excessive wear.
    Check the ma dress cover for signs of wear or damage. Ensure the ma dress cover and tubes are connected correctly.
    Plug in the pump unit and check the airflow from the hose connec on the port. The airflow should alternate between ports every half-cycle.
    Check the air hoses to see if there are any kinks or breaks. For replacement, please contact your local agent or dealer.
    Make sure the MA dress tube is well connected.
    Check the pump unit and make sure both power indicators are off when the switch is turned off.

Low pressure

  • Examine if there is any air leakage between the pump and the mares connection or from the air mattress tubes:
  • Check connectors between the air mattress and pump. If there is any disconnect on, please reconnect it.
  • Check the CPR Valves. Ensure their outlets are sealed.
  • Check the air-connect ng tubes. Ensure each single cell is not broken.
  • Set the pressure at Max firm. Keep the tubes fully inflated and inspect for air leakage.
  • Check if there is any air leakage from cells. Ensure no leakage occurs. If any leakage occurs, please contact your local agent or dealer.
