Important Safeguards

  1. Product Functions

The Selec s Serenity Elite pump and mattress are intended to reduce the incidence of pressure ulcers while optimizing patient comfort. It also provides the following:

  • Individual home care setting and long-term care
  • Pain management as prescribed by a physician

Pump Functions
The functions of the Serenity Elite pump are described below:

  1. Power Switch(1): The switch is at the right side of the pump.
    Turn ON/OFF the power and press the Power button on the panel, the pump will start/stop operation.

Installation & Operating Instructions

  1. Place pump on horizontal surface or hang it by means of the hook.
  2. Open the mattress on the bed. Secure it with end flaps or straps.
  3. Connect air feed tubes to air outlet on the mattress and pump, ensuring that the tubes are not kinked or twisted.
  4. Allow space for bed rails to drop freely.
  5. Turn on the power. After a beep sound, the pump will begin the operation. The pump will enter static mode initially when the power is turned on. The cycle will start after a few seconds.

To reduce the risk of electrocution:
Always unplug this product immediately after use.

  • Do not use while bathing.
  • Do not place or store product where it can fall or be pulled into a tub or sink.
  • Do not place or drop into water or other liquids.
  • Do not reach for a product that has fallen into water. Unplug immediately.

  • To reduce the risk of burns, electrocution, fire or injury to persons:
  • A product should never be left unattended when plugged in.
  • Close supervision is necessary when this product is used by, on, or near children or invalids.
  • Use this product only for the intended use as described in this manual.
  • Do not use attachments not recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Never operate this product if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is not working properly, if it has been dropped or damaged, or dropped into water. Return the product to a service center for examination and repair.

GROUNDING

Before any connection is made, make certain that this product is connected to a protective earth conductor via the three-wire power cord; the three-blade plug should be inserted only into a socket outlet that provides a protective earth contact.

Intended Use

Pump

  • Power Switch(1)

    • The switch is at the right side of the pump.
    • Turn ON/OFF the power and press Power buton on the panel, the pump will start/stop operaton.
  • Press Cycle Time(2)
    The cycle me is selectable from the panel. The cycle me value can be either 10, 15, 20, or 25 minutes.

  • Press Pressure Range(3)
    20mmHg~55mmHg is offered from the panel, providing op ns of pressure value by easy press.

  • Alarm Mute (4)

    • The audible/visible alarm turns on aer 1 minute when low pressure, power failure or alternate failure.
    • To mute the audible alarm, press the Alarm Mute buton. The visible alarm indicator will flash l problem solved.
    • Re-press the Alarm Mute buton to reac ate the alarm.
  • Alternate mode(5)
    Press to set the air matress in alternate mode.

  • Statc mode(6)
    Press to set the air matress in statc mode.

  • Max Firm(7)
    Press to set the air matress in quick inflaaon mode, which facilitates nursing and caring.

  • Seat Inflate (8)

    • Press to set the air matress in seat inflate+ alternate or seat inflate+ statc
    • mode, pressure value will increase by 5mmHg, which facilitates sea g.
    • Under max firm mode, because the pressure is already set at the largest value, no more 5mmHg will be increased.
  • Lock buton (9)

    • The panel will automacaly lock in 5 minutes without opera n.
    • Press the lock buton and hold for 3 seconds, to lock or unlock the panel.

Matress
The Selects Serenity Elite pump comes with cell on cell type mattress

Installaon & Operang Instrucons

  • Place pump on horizontal surface or hang it by means of the hook.
  • Open maess on the bed. Secure it with end flaps or straps.
  • Connect air feed tubes to air outlet on the maess and pump, ensuring that the tubes are not“kinked”or twisted. Allow space for bed rails to drop freely.
  • Turn on the power. Aer a beep sound, the pump will begin the operaton.
  • The pump will enter statc mode initally when the power is turned on. The cycle me is set at the 1
  • LED (10 min.), and the pressure level is set at the 3
  • LED (30±2mmHg). First it will inflate the maess to 10-15±2 mmHg and then enteralternate mode.
  • During normal opera n, the pump will monitor pressure changes. If the pressure is below a user-defined pressure level, the pump will automacaly start to inflate the maess. The pump will stop when the user-defined pressure level is reached.
  • The first infllaon of new maess: the alarm func n (visible and audible alarm) will actvate if matress is not inflated completely within 40 minutes.
  • During pump is running, low pressure alarm will actvate within 1 minute aer air tubes are disconnected or air cells are broken.
  • If there should be power failure, for example caused by power cord unplugged or power off when pump is working, the audible alarm will be actvated and power
  • failure indicator will flash. When power is back, pump will automatcally start working.
  • If the matress stops alternatng or alternate abnormally, the audible alarm will be actvated and alternate failure indicator will flash.
  • For nursing and caring convenience, press the max firm buon to automacaly inflate the maesses to the maximum level (55mmHg) for about 20 minutes. The pressure will return to alternate mode aer 20 minutes.

Cleaning Guidelines

  • Can be cleaned by disinfectant soluon
  • Do not immerse the pump in water
  • Do not heat or steam in autoclave
  • The matress and cover are aerated unl they are fully dry

Maintenance

General

  • Check the power cord and plug to see if there are abrasions or excessive wear.
  • Check the maress cover for signs of wear or damage. Ensure the maress cover and tubes are connected together correctly.
  • Plug in the pump unit and check the airflow from the hose connecon port. The airflow should alternate between ports every half-cycle me.
  • Check the air hoses to see if there are any kinks or breaks. For replacement, please contact your local agent or dealer.
  • Make sure the maress tube is well connected.
  • Check the pump unit and make sure both power indicators are off when the switch is turned off.

Low pressure

  • Examine if there is any air leakage between the pump and the maress connecons or from the air maress tubes:
  • Check connectors between the air maress and pump. If there is any disconnecon, please reconnect it.
  • Check the CPR Valves. Ensure their outlets are sealed.
  • Check the air-connecng tubes. Ensure each single cell is not broken.
  • Set the pressure at Max firm. Keep the tubes fully inflated and inspect for air leakage.
  • Check if there is any air leakage from cells. Ensure no leakage occurs. If any leakage occurs, please contact your local agent or dealer
