Important Safeguards

When using electrical products, especially when children are present, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following

READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING

DANGER
To reduce the risk of electrocution:

  • Always unplug this product immediately after use.
  • Do not use while bathing.
  • Do not place or store product where it can fall or be pulled into a tub or sink.
  • Do not place or drop into water or other liquids.
  • Do not reach for a product that has fallen into water. Unplug immediately.

WARNING

To reduce the risk of burns, electrocution, fire or injury to persons:

  • A product should never be left unattended when plugged in.
  • Close supervision is necessary when this product is used by, on, or near children or invalids.
  • Use this product only for the intended use as described in this manual.
  • Do not use attachments not recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Never operate this product if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is not working properly, if it has been dropped or damaged, or dropped into water. Return the product to a  service center for examination and repair.
  • Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.
  • Never block the air openings of the product or place it on a soft surface, such as a bed or couch, where the air openings may be blocked. Keep the air openings free of lint, hair and the like.
  • Never drop or insert any object into any opening or hose.
  • Do not use outdoors or operate where aerosol (spray) products are being used.
  • Connect this product to a properly grounded outlet only. See Grounding Instructions.

GROUNDING

Before any connection is made, make certain that this product is connected to a protective earth conductor via the three-wire power cord; the three-blade plug should be inserted only into a socket outlet that provides a protective earth contact.

Product Functions

Intended Use
The Selectis Serenity pump and mattress are intended to reduce the incidence of pressure ulcers while optimizing patient comfort. It also provides the following:

  • Individual home care setting and long-term care
  • Pain management as prescribed by a physician

Pump
The functions of the Selectis Serenity pump are described below. Please refer to the figures of the Selectis pump.

  • Power Switch(1)
    The power switch is at the right side of the pump.
    Turn ON/OFF, pump will start/stop operation.

  • Pressure adjust knob(2)
    Turn the soft/firm knob to set a comfortable pressure level.

  • Normal Pressure Indicator(3)
    A visible indicator (green) tells the pressure has reached a preset or user- defined level.

  • Low Pressure Indicator(4)
    A visible indicator (yellow or red) warns the pressure is below a preset or user-defined level.

  • Alarm Mute(5)
    The audible/visible alarm turns on after 2.5 minutes when the pressure is low.
    To mute the audible alarm, press the mute button.

  • Static Control(6)
    Press to set the air mattress to static mode.

Mattress
The Selectis Serenity pump comes with single cell type mattress and cell on cell type mattress

Installation & Operating Instructions

  • Place pump on horizontal surface or hang it by means of the hook.
  • Open mattress on the bed. Secure it with end flaps or straps. Air tubes must be at foot end of bed.
  • Connect air feed tubes to air outlet on the mattress and pump, ensuring that the tubes are not’ kinked’ or twisted. Allow space for bed rails to drop freely. Turn on the pump power. The indicator of the power switch will come on. The pump starts to pump air into the mattress.
  • The Low Pressure indicator (yellow or red) will come on as inflation undergoes.
  • The audible alarm is activated, accompanied by the Low Pressure indicator, to alert that pressure is low. Press the Alarm mute button to mute the audible alarm, and its indicator will flash.
  • For first inflation, it is recommended that you press Static button to enter a quick operation.
  • When the pressure reaches the preset level within approximately 30 minutes, the Normal Pressure indicator will come on, and the Low Pressure indicator will turn off.
  • Turn the Pressure Adjust Knob to set a comfortable pressure level from soft to firm.
  • Press the Static button to set it in static mode, and the Static indicator will come on. The static mode will be started within approximately 6 minutes. Press the Static button again to switch back to alternating mode.

  • Operation Temperature: 50°F ~95°F (10°C ~35°C)
  • Storage Temperature: 5° ~122°F (-15°C~50°C)
  • Operation Humidity: 20%~80% non-condensing
  • Storage Humidity: 10%~90% non-condensing

Cleaning Guidelines

  • Can be cleaned by disinfectant solution
  • Do not immerse the pump in water
  • Do not heat or steam in autoclave
  • The mattress and cover are aerated until they are fully dry

Maintenance

General

  • Check the power cord and plug to see if there are abrasions or excessive wear.
  • Check the mattress cover for signs of wear or damage. Ensure the mattress cover and tubes are connected together correctly.
  • Plug in the pump unit and check the airflow from the hose connection port. The airflow should alternate between ports every half-cycle time.
  • Check the air hoses to see if there are any kinks or breaks. For replacement, please contact your local agent or dealer.
  • Make sure the mattress tube is well connected.
  • Check the pump unit and make sure both power indicators are off when the switch is turned off.

Low pressure
Examine if there is any air leakage between the pump and the mattress connections or from the air mattress tubes:

  • Check connectors between the air mattress and pump. If there is any disconnection, please reconnect it.
  • Check the CPR Valves. Ensure their outlets are sealed.
  • Check the air-connecting tubes. Ensure each single cell is not broken.
  • Set the pressure at Max firm. Keep the tubes fully inflated and inspect for air leakage.
  • Check if there is any air leakage from cells. Ensure no leakage occurs. If any leakage occurs, please contact your local agent or dealer.

This warranty does not cover device failure due to owner misuse or negligence, or normal wear and tear. The warranty does not extend to non-durable components, such as rubber accessories, casters, and grips, which are subject to normal wear and need periodic replacement.
