**
IMPORTANT! READ CAREFULLY BEFORE USE AND KEEP SAFE FOR LATER READING.
System and functional description:
Generally speaking, a shower toilet isn’t any different from a conventional toilet. You go about your business much the same as you always do. The difference is found in what you do afterwards. Unlike on a conventional toilet, where you will clean yourself with toilet paper once you are finished, the Grohe Sensia Wall Hung will clean you gently and thoroughly with water. Cleaning yourself with water is more thorough as well as gentler on your skin. While you are still seated, a water jet in a comfortable body temperature will clean you with just the right intensity for your comfort at the push of a button. Additional features, a remote control and a comfortable seating position complement this shower approach. You can operate it simply by remote control.
Proper use:
The Grohe Shower Toilet is a toilet designed to allow convenient cleaning of
the anal- and/or vaginal area after visiting the toilet.

Safety precautions
Read the user manual carefully before operating the device. It contains important information for the installation, safety, theuse of the device and its maintenance. It will allow you to protect yourself and to prevent damages to the device.
When using the product – especially in the presence of children – you should always observe the following safety instructions. Grohe cannot be held liable for damages that are the result of disregarding these instructions.
In order to illustrate varying degrees of severity, the following terms are used:
DANGER
Denotes an immediately hazardous situation, which may result in death or
severe injury if not prevented.
WARNING
Denotes a potentially hazardous situation, which may result in death or severe
injury if not prevented.
CAUTION
Denotes a potentially hazardous situation, which may result in mild to
moderate injuries and/or damages to the product and/ or other items and
property if not prevented.
DANGER
Risk of electric shock (risk of death!):
The on-site electrical installation and connecting the device to the power mains must only be performed by authorized and qualified electricians, who are well versed in the locally applicable regulations and supplemental requirements and know the requirements of the local utility providers extensively. Improper installation and maintenance work or repairs can create substantial hazards to the user, for which Grohe cannot be held liable.
The electrical safety of the device is only ensured when it is connected to a properly installed earth conductor system. This basic safety requirement must be ensured. When in doubt, have your electrical system checked by a qualified electrician. The power specifications (frequency and voltage) shown on the nameplate of the device must meet the specifications of the mains cable at the installation site in order to prevent damages to the device.
It is recommended to power the device from a regular wall socket (VDE 0701), as this facilitates easy disconnection from the power supply in case of service work. If a wall socket is not within reach or if a permanent connection is planned, a proper separation device for each pole is required at the installation site. A separating device within this meaning is a wall switch where the contact terminals are at least 3 mm apart. This includes LS switches, fuses and contactors (EN 60 335).
The protective zones must be assured in bathrooms.
If a power supply connection is made in zone 2, then the power supply to the
shower toilet can be established by a direct connection, using an IPX4
connector socket as permanent connection.
****Do not use after taking a bath or shower.
****Do not pour water or cleaning agents into or onto the toilet seat or the remote control. It could cause electric shock or fires
WARNING
Risk of burns, electric shock, fires and/or personal injury:
For devices that are delivered without a connecting power cable or when
replacing a damaged power cable, a special connector cable must be purchased
from an authorized dealer.
The device must be disconnected from the power supply for any and all
installation and maintenance work and for repairs.
This also applies if you find damages on the power supply cable or on the
product itself. Please ensure this by:
- setting the fuses (LS switches) of the electrical installation into the off position or
- by completely removing the screw-in fuses of the electrical installation or
- by completely pulling the power plug (if any) out of the wall socket.
When doing so, do not pull on the cord, but pull on the power plug (if present) instead.
**** Check the temperature settings of the water and the dryer air before
each use. Set the air dryer temperature to the lowest level if you intend to
use this feature for a prolonged period of time.
There is a risk of burns if this feature is used for a prolonged period of
time at high temperature settings. This applies particularly to the following
persons: children, the elderly, ill persons, persons with sensitive skin and
thermoregulatory dysfunctions, the inebriated and overly tired persons.

Battery leakage may cause fire.
-
eep batteries away from children. Batteries are not toys. Contact a physician immediately in the event of a battery being swallowed accidentally.
-
If your skin comes into contact with the liquid inside a battery, rinse immediately with copious amounts of water.
-
If spilled battery fluid comes into contact with the eyes, rinse immediately with clean water without rubbing. The liquid can cause blindness. Talk to a doctor.
Be mindful of the following when handling batteries:
- Do not store batteries carelessly together with other metal objects (necklaces, hair pins etc.).
- lease do not mix new and old batteries but remove both batteries at the same time as they will discharge otherwise. Only use batteries of the same type.
- Do not recharge batteries, short them, open or damage them by force and do not bring them into contact with fire, water or high temperatures. They could otherwise explode or leak and thereby cause damages.
Do not try to open or repair the
shower toilet on your own. Do not make modifications or install additional
items. The shower toilet contains energized power cables.
Upon being opened, there is a risk to your life! Repairs must only be
performed with original replacement parts and accessories by authorized
maintenance personnel. Improper installation and maintenance work or repairs
can create substantial hazards to the user.
**** Do not use near electronics and medical equipment with a weak signal. There is a danger that electrical malfunction may cause an accident.
**** If water leaks from the toilet seat or the water supply line, disconnect
the shower toilet from the power supply and close the water cutout valve.
There is a risk of electric shock, fire and flooding.
**** If there is any indication of damages to the shower toilet, disconnect immediately from the power supply and contact the Grohe customer service.
**** In regions where the water hardness exceeds 18 °dH, a water filtration system with water softener must be used. You can inquire about your water hardness with your local utilities provider.
**** In order to ensure long service life:
- Please perform the descaling about every three months. (Please purchase descaling kit sold separately. Product number is 1015469990.)

Handling precautions
Do not expose the toilet to direct sunlight. It can cause discoloration of the plastic parts. Direct sunlight can furthermore lead to the remote control and the sensor not working properly.
Do not open and close the toilet seat or lid by force. It may cause cracking, electrical leakage or the auto open/ close feature to malfunction.
Do not pour water or cleaning agents onto the remote control. It could cause it to malfunction.
Do not use electrical heaters in the vicinity of the toilet. It could cause discoloration of the plastic parts or malfunctions.
Do not use any paper other than toilet paper. Be careful not to drop any foreign materials in the bowl, as they may clog the drainpipe. If you drop anything in the bowl, remove it before flushing.
If the toilet should become clogged, use a plunger to unclog it. Do not flush the toilet and do not fill water into it by other means (e.g. with a bucket) until it is unclogged. Wastewater spilling over poses a risk of electric shock and damage to the device (electronic components inside the toilet seat can get damaged).
Do not operate the remote control with wet hands. It could cause it to malfunction.
The device must not be used at installation sites that are not stationary (e.g. on ships).
Never use steam cleaners to clean the device.
The steam of a steam cleaner could come into contact with energized parts and
cause a short-circuit.
The shower toilet must not be operated on stand-alone inverters, such as those found in autonomous power supplies, e.g. photovoltaic systems. In such systems, switching on the device can cause power spikes that may cause safety shutdowns. This can damage the electronic components!
The shower toilet also must not be used on so-called energy saver sockets, as they reduce the power supplied to the device which may in turn lead to the device warming up.
Caution – suffocation hazard!
Children can suffocate when they play with packaging materials (e.g. foil) and
wrap themselves into the materials or pull them over their heads. Keep
packaging materials away from children.
The cable specifications are printed on the nameplate.
They must match the specifications of the power grid.
When contacting the Grohe Service department, always state the following:
